Q:

Cricket regulated airspace increaser "Spacer"

Hi,

here is first pictures of “Spacer” prototype.

and what it does… it increases regulated airspace and shows you what is the regulated pressure. When i did test to hst adjuster i noticed that after airtube pressure dropped below regulator setting, shots fps increased . especially when using higher regulator pressure setting. i also wanted to see what is my regulated airspace pressure (regulator setting pressure), now this “spacer” shows it to me and i can adjust if i need, also i see does my regulator work right. sometimes it must clean and set it again to right pressure.

this is just proto and there is coming out a some spacers, if someone is interested. production version is better pressure gauge (with psi readings), it is aligned just there where stock ends and i’ts also anodized to black and i’ts tested to 300 bar (~4300 psi).

Prototype is not achieved its “production” version and here it is. There is a lot of doing after i can sell it, i must do pressure tests and also the right pressure gauges is coming from the US. Then i must assembly it before it’s ready.

Several tested units available!

Check with Imppu directly for all the specs and info.

Is this regulated airspace increaser the same thing as increasing “PLENUM” space for the regulator? If so I could use this on a couple rifles!

Doesn’t loc tite make anything? Almost can’t believe epoxy would not work.

Not many glues adhere well to plastic!

Perhaps someone can give us a tried and proven brand…no guesses!

I’ve tried Gorilla glue, epoxy, JB Weld and they all failed after a short time. I wish there was a glue similar to PVC cement that physically melts the two pieces together.

Why not make a thick plastic washer and glue it to shroud end cap then glue muzzle brake to that. Just a thought

The shroud diameter of the .22 Standard Cricket is 1.16″, therefore it would seem feasible to use a 1″ ID pvc coupler, and simply ream out the .16″ to get a tight fit. Or so it seems that way out here in Toad Suck, AR. Paint it black, and it shouldn’t be all that noticeable. A poor man’s solution to even up the tube ends.

An airsoft muzzle break would need to be roughly 18mm ID.

well hoot, when it’s finished lets have a look see….

ATTENTION PORCINE READERSHIP:

Once again, I and I alone, have experienced a “Eureka Moment”, nay…nay..an Epiphany!…wherein lesser minds would falter. I have determined that an airsoft muzzle brake would do nicely.

Here is a nice selection to view: https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A0LEVyS2F3FT_3oAsFpXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTB0MnRoNXFhBHNlYwNzYwRjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkA1NNRTM0Nl8x?_adv_prop=image&fr=yfp-t-901&va=airsoft+muzzle+brake

Bear in mind, my feeble-witted, bifurcated hoofed, friends, these brakes are designed to attach to the airsoft barrel muzzle, and some adaptation will likely be necessary to fit them to the shroud. How hard could that be? They even have this in .50 cal BMG, so perhaps one of the larger ones might fit with a bit of reaming. I should think a common hog, with a Dremel, could accomplish that! I intend to try.

Again…kindest regards,

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle
Hoot:

A question for the Standard Cricket .22 caliber…this will make the air tube extend beyond the muzzle. There is 1.5 centimeters distance from the air cylinder to the muzzle end now.

How much overlap would there be? Might look a bit strange on the “Standard”….

Hoot:

EDIT: Read all the prior posts. Per changing the .22 OEM shroud, as did the Finnish Viper, it is so dead quiet now I hate to bother it. However…perhaps a simple “muzzle brake” made from Delrin, slide over-grub screw attached, as such:

It would make a nice accessory to the Pippo upgrade. Perhaps he could pop a few up and this sell his unit to .22 owners so they don’t have to spend a couple hundred on a CF extended shroud???

I know…I know….it’s brilliant, but we’ll likely see this right after:

Alas…Again, I toss my pearls of wisdom before the herds of sweating swine that frequent this forum!!! Oh well…. Perhaps one of you brain surgeons reading this might mill up a few for a few quid/kroner each…trying not to chop off the occasional digit in the process.
