Q:

Cricket regulated airspace increaser "Spacer"

Hi,

here is first pictures of “Spacer” prototype.

and what it does… it increases regulated airspace and shows you what is the regulated pressure. When i did test to hst adjuster i noticed that after airtube pressure dropped below regulator setting, shots fps increased . especially when using higher regulator pressure setting. i also wanted to see what is my regulated airspace pressure (regulator setting pressure), now this “spacer” shows it to me and i can adjust if i need, also i see does my regulator work right. sometimes it must clean and set it again to right pressure.

this is just proto and there is coming out a some spacers, if someone is interested. production version is better pressure gauge (with psi readings), it is aligned just there where stock ends and i’ts also anodized to black and i’ts tested to 300 bar (~4300 psi).

Prototype is not achieved its “production” version and here it is. There is a lot of doing after i can sell it, i must do pressure tests and also the right pressure gauges is coming from the US. Then i must assembly it before it’s ready.

Marvellous! I quess you mean 110-250 Bar though – not 110-150. I´ll take one at once!

EDIT -Now i understand the 110-150 B thing: it’s the regulated pressure. D’oh…

Final!

after many problems first four spacer is tested and ready to ship.

These three i can send in lower price, but i want that buyer send me pics back when installed on the Cricket.

When spacer is installed on the cricket the cheek piece isn’t fit perfectly without little carving. There must done about 1 mm removin from cheek piece to get perfect fit. look first post pictures.

normal price will be around 110$ shipped to anywhere. of course one is reserved to Sir Ville, but there is three units available.

Test pressure was 310 bar, normal use range is about 100-150 bar so product is safe to use

Ville, i send you pm.

There is some delivery problems with pressure gauges. I got refund after month waiting now i do new deals with gauge suppliers. I dont wa t buy any cheap gauges and so this is little bit difficult. The end product must be quality and so stay tuned… have nice weekend.

Nice! I´ll have one right away. You have the adress to send it to and i have your PayPal. Now i just need to know how much. ?

First post updated with new pics.

very nice!

if anything I just like that it made the air tube same length as the barrel. That’s the only thing holding me back from buying .25 cricket right now….waiting for a compact .25 cricket if they’ll ever make one.

Do like i´ve done : I have a new CF shroud that´s 60mm shorter than the original = as long as the airtube on the .25.
I had it made with a threaded adapter to be able to use an extra muffler that makes it super-hyper quiet if needed – for those situations i need to go deep, deep under cover and stealth.

The other, shorter shroud – with the same feat – is for the honorable Doc Evil …

Pics off the threaded end :

I think that spacer will make the .25 better looking by adding some length on the airtube so the Barrel doesn’t look overly long on top of it.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2. This POS iPhone sucks though …

Very impressive, I may be interested in one for my .25 Cricket. Too bad they couldn’t be made shorter for the .22s :8:

Great stuff, Imppu!
Those wiley Finn´s , they can… 😯

Spacer is tried to do so short it can be done, but still it goes 10mm over the barrel lenght, i can’t make it shorter without risking material strenght and so on safety.
i just calculated production version airspace increment that is 5,2 %. Assuming that air tube size is 325 cm3 (inner radius of tube 15 mm and lenght 460 mm) it increases to ~342 cm3.

Think its more about how much more higher regulated power u can achieve :4:

I can not help but chime-in. Though I do not have a reg on my custom built airgun, I have been thinking along this same idea too. Congrats.. you have brought this to reality. I wonder why big airgun manufacturers haven’t thought of making this a standard feature. A big plus for me, this offers the opportunity to have the reservoir flush in length with the shroud giving a tidy proportion and balance.

I wonder how many shots the added volume provides?

Cricket don’t make them you have to convert them to compact and standard, that’s what I done to mine.

.25 compact 26.5″ OAL, 43fpe, 35 shots at 250b fill

.25 standard 28″ OAL 48fpe 43 shots at 250B fill

Ernest

your .25 standard with 28″ OAL is the perfect length. Please tell how how you converted and how much louder it got.

it will be a little louder. If you have a .22 standard, you can call steve at wwag to see if he has .25 barrels, if so we have a machinist that can cut the barrel to 18″ and make a .25 bolt probe and I will mod the air valve to a .25 air port.
