They have a couple of lightweight options on offer – A Mamba Light and i think the other one was a Genesis Light or something like that. The bad news : I need something with more mag than either of those offer … 😥

Maybe that 16x is enough for the little Bug though ?? I need to think and thinking is not my forté …

Good idea, maybe they’ll offer that option soon….

There should be a choice .With or without the IR. Those who want/need it – by all means take the version with IR. Those who don´t go with a lighter version.

I agree Ville, really how many people really use the IR??? I haven’t used it once and probably won’t.

One of mine is the 3X12X44, the other is 4X16X50, extremely clear and very inexpensive.

OK Donny you got me…..The Bobcat’s light compared to the scope…

Everyone who picks up my guns are very impressed on how clear they are even at higher magnification. And the 1/8″ click I really like.

I had a Viper in 10x and it was a very good scope. I´d gladly buy a Viper – or Taipan since it´s a skosk lighter – again but they´re on the heavy side. They should loose the IR and voilá ; A good scope with a good reticle, SF, more than adequate optics and weight under 20 oz.

MTC all the way if i was to choose.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2. This POS iPhone sucks though …

Heavy? Are you talking about the scope or the Bobcat? :2: Sorry I had to go there lol.

Triple 3,
I have two MTC Vipers, 1 one my Bobcat they other on my Cricket. Very clear and very sharp image. I really like them, a little on heavy side but I bench my guns anyway so no big deal to me.

I think the SCB2 reticle is pretty close to the Aeon New Trajectory reticle. If I had a choice between the two for my free scope I might pick the MTC for the same reason since it is proven and has been around longer. It’s about $100 more at the moment but I bet the Aeon catches up in a year or so on price.

Question of the day to you optic consoeurs: I am having trouble deciding between the Aeons and a MTC Viper 6-24×56. I am kinda leaning towards the Viper as it has a good rep in the UK and the overall construction seems solid. On the other hand the Aeons have all those extra aimpoints to extend my holdover/under range. Which would you choose?

I believe most lower end/middle class scopes have too many needless feats (IR comes to mind first) that add unneeded weight. There are few scopes at under 20 oz and with SF and other needed stuff but those have either a Duplex reticle or a Mil-Dot at best. A good reticule shouldn´t add any weight so someone should take the Ball and run with it.

Exactly that are well below 20 oz. I guess it is expensive to build light??? Of course my NightForce is about 28 oz. but I don’t consider it that great of a scope for how much it cost.

So as usual i was wrong again …

What i don´t get is why doesn´t anyone make a light, max 600 gram, SF scope at 24x or more with a good reticle with lots of aiming points (like Hawke, MTC,Falcon ie) without IR and other stuff i don´t need to make it weigh like an oil Tanker. Damn it !!

I´m waiting for the new Delta 3-24x 50 and hopefully it doesn´t have IR (on the modell without two illuminated target dots, of course) so it´ll be under 600 grams.

Here is the factory.

Right on ! what good is a 50 yard PX if your target is 25 yards away ? These are not guns for Moose hunting so a PX down to at least 15 yard is desireable.
Here´s your “AEON” scope manufacturer, btw : http://www.scvector.biz
Definitely one of the better Chinese scope makers on par with Falcon,Hawke SW and maybe even MTC.
