I’m not going to go and worry about the logistics of this price drop but what I currently know is that I just placed a deposit on the last .25 cal walnut bulldog for the same price I would have payed for a plastic fantastic stock. Not to mention it includes a cheek piece which was extra from wwag, so in my book it is a good day :8: :8:

Humm, almost back at the price they were originally supposed to be sold at!
Thin margins? I doubt it. They are getting a hell of a lot more mark-up than PB Dealers get. Must be nice to get such healthy markups! 😯

At these prices, regular Gun Dealers need to quite laughting at AG’s and start earning a better pay check. 😉

With current dealer pricing, for the mom and pop dealer who is buying from AOA or another importer and reselling, the margin has just became very thin. If the dealer had any crickets in stock before this price change he probably just lost money on those guns. If the retail price goes down another $100 to $1150 for the synthetic and current dealer pricing stays the same it’s paper thin. Especially when you take into consideration shipping fees and other fees associated with the sale of the gun like credit card fees.

Trust me, you would be amazed how bad the little guys are getting hosed right now, especially if they stocked up on crickets a month ago. But for the average consumer right now its all gravy…

By the way you put you act like they are selling them at cost or close to it LOL

There is more left on the table. AOA aint no fools.

Hmmmmmm……

This is interesting, – but in my opinion also a bit sad……… 😥

Price wars never helped beefing up service levels and(or support of spareparts). If the vendors do not make money, – they may eventually decide to go out of business altogether……

Some of you may remember this guy:

http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=25853

Does anybody know what happened to Dima and his operation ? I noticed he has “edited” his first post, – but the thread certainly is interesting enough…….. 🙄

Apart from Steve at WWAG (with an excellent service even for people abroad), there seems to be some interesting approaches already affecting the Cricket when it comes to return policies:

Looks like a policy we’ve seen from another BP producer heavily discussed in other threads. Now if this is the official Kalibr return policy, my guess is we shall soon see some interesting scenarios coming up after people have rushed for their low priced guns……

Also I am not sure this is smart marketing for Kalibr and Cricket. “Perceived value” is bound to drop and the Cricket image may suffer. Not to mention second hand value of guns already sold…..

I may be wrong, – but as I see it, this “stampede” of cheap Crickets may probably benefit Ed more than anybody else……… 😉

Cheers

Reading the yellow… Looks like AOA is trying to Snuff out the competition….

Well said! To make a quality gun you need the right materials and machinery so the cost of making them isn´t going down – probably the opposite unless the manufacturing is outsourced to India or China. The only thing left to play is the advance the Importers and Dealers have on them. I don´t think they´re willing to sell guns without a profit for any longer period of time.

Short term like a gas price war IMO. In the end the guns still cost the same to produce, ship, and support. If there is any permanent change I bet it is small. Sometimes vendors get squeezed out.

Yup – I figure that within a month of the first Hummingbird deliveries we will know the real deal on them and I will be looking for another gun in about six months after Baby Cricket comes in. 😛 I would not want to get caught holding the bag on 25 or 50 $1.8k guns. I think a short-term price change is inevitable.

This is gonna be good…. Now is when AOA breaks out the preorder for the HUMMINGBIRD at great deal..

I almost said I would preorder one if it drops $300 but no way, I want to see this one in plenty of reviews first !!! I can imagine lots of problems and complexity compared to what we are used to.

They are all a little too high priced in the US. This could be the correction the market needs but it will always be supply and demand in the end.

I think that AOA wants to sell them before hamminbird comes to the market, a semi-auto pcp at $1550.
