Right on ! what good is a 50 yard PX if your target is 25 yards away ? These are not guns for Moose hunting so a PX down to at least 15 yard is desireable.
HereΒ΄s your “AEON” scope manufacturer, btw : http://www.scvector.biz
Definitely one of the better Chinese scope makers on par with Falcon,Hawke SW and maybe even MTC.

I contacted five folks when the offer came up and the assessment was the same. Optics were nearly identical to the Falcon/Hawke SW/MTC level and they are designed for airguns in terms of parallax and reticle. Basically, they fit in that $500 price point at somewhat of a discount because they are very new. Hawke did they same thing until they became popular and raised prices. Definitely not in the $1000 price point category but not in the $200 price point either. A great deal for free.

I kind of disagree with using more expensive 50 yard parallax scopes for these airguns shooting diablo pellets at relatively close range even though their optics are slightly better at longer ranges and higher magnifications. They have clarity issues at very close ranges where airguns can be utilized a lot of the time requiring the magnification to be turned down. They certainly are not worth another $500 to me. Even in Ted’s latest video he indicated the 6-24 Viper FFP was getting annoying at close ranges with the 50 parallax and lack of clarity. It really depends on how you use the guns. For pesting the 50 yard parallax is mostly a big negative. If all ones does is to shoot paper from 50 to 100 yards then I say go for it but understand the limitations.

While I agree with MG about a lot of things, I have to disagree with his assessment of Aeon scopes. Their not the BEST scope available I find them to be at least comparable to Hawkes line of scopes. Yes their big and not the lightest scopes available but for the price range their very good.Optics are very clear, turrets adjustments are repeatable and it adjusts down to 10yds.

Aeon scopes suck.

Do you have one, why do you feel that way? I have one on order and have never handled one.

Aeon scopes suck.

i called and talked to charlie… He told me that they are Doing at them at Regular price with a 200$ store credit OR an aeon scope…. Not sure what others are being told but I’m gonna wait. definitely not buying from AOA. that won’t happen. So i ordered 2 P12’s instead. one to keep for a .22 and the other one will be a future .30 or a 357 maybe???

So it’s been a couple days, I thought for sure Steve would at least match, but more likely beat AOA’s price by like $20 by now. But still no word, some of you said you were in the know, so whats going on over at wwag? I can respect if Steve just comes flat out and says he has no intention of lowering his prices, but this “grey” period is killing me lol….

Looks like Ernest will be VERY busy with his tunes..

Yes Steve is very pleasant to do business with. I have also had dealings with AOA and have not been as happy…..

You might be from California. πŸ˜† I spoke to Steve over 35 minutes and got every gritty detail on the entire situation and we even had time to share airgun and family stories. Don’t underestimate his business acumen. Can you imagine having a giant Cricket order with nearly every gun going out to seed a new burgeoning product that may make huge inroads as the Crickets have? Yes Aeon scopes. Nearly every guy that can afford a $2k air gun on this order now has an Aeon scope coming around the country. They are very good for the money I have been told by half a dozen in my research. The word will spread. Consider it a $3-4k marketing promotion. I think it will pay off. πŸ˜€ Much the same thing happened with Hawkes in the US.

I am happy to here that there was only one cancellation. After I hung up the phone with Steve I thought to myself that I should have asked him how many of his customers were cancelling or accepting his offers. I wasn’t sure if it was rude to ask but I really wanted to know.
I understand wanting to save the $300, I really do. I am certainly not made of money. Every dollar that I spent on my new Cricket came from selling other toys. I sold my AAS410, two air pistols, a scope and two handguns to raise the funds. Still though, I ordered my Cricket in early February, I agreed to the current price and Steve reserved a gun for me. I think of that as entering into an agreement, sort of a “gentleman’s contract” but without the handshake. I don’t believe that Steve should be obligated to offer me any discount. As a businessman I can understand why he would however. Human nature dictates that most people would expect to get that discount or they would walk away from their order (their “gentleman’s contract”) just to save a buck. I also like to look at a bigger picture. Sure it’s nice to save a few bucks now. However your actions are helping to create a situation where there may be less competition for your business in the future. A big company chases a little company out of business which will probably lead to higher prices down the road. I own my own business, I understand that the free market is a great system and I am definitely pro capitalism. AOA seems to be running a very successful business and seem to be smart businessmen. The free market works at it best however when there is healthy competition. I seem to be rambling on so I think I’ll stop. Hope I made my point clearly. Thanks.
Kenny
