ED is announcing a price increase…..
Hmmmmm…..
Ed posted the below (translation by Google) on his Russian forum yesterday:
It appears he may be looking for a price hike due to the negative development of the ruble……… 🙄
We’ll see………

I am happy to help buy the house if he would just send over the guns we are on the list waiting for.
Hmm maybe their was an addition to his house he wanted done and once he sells those new edguns at those jacked up prices he’ll lower the price again….
Just be honest Ed….you want a hot tub Per bathroom with gold trimmings.. 😈
Who did you think was going to pay for the new lake house? Actually, the ruble is at a 5 year low. Their middle class is starting to hurt a bit.
I will be sticking with Edgun regardless of a price increase. I have had rifles from FX, Kalibr, HW, Daystate, etc. IMHO Edguns are superior air rifles. I just hope the increases are modest/minimal.
P.S. Ed if youre listening please get some Veles pistols out to the U.S. soon
I don’t know about that…. Maybe in your eyes. Up till now it was the cricket or the edgun and they are both 1500+
Now that this is coming it will be a lot more affordable at a price point that many will be able to afford when they couldn’t before. The edgun will still sell to those that want have the extra funds and want an “edgun”. You may find guys unloAding the edguns at a lower price.
Now if the p12 comes to the market setup with wingmans suggestions and a good customer service with plenty of parts on hand and no waiting that will further push people away from spending 2k on a edgun
According to the simplest of economics the more of something there is on the marketplace the lower the price should be and vice versa. The time for Ed to raise his prices imho has passed, that would have been when he was about the only BP maker around. This move may very well be in reaction to inflation and in that case he has my sympathy and understanding, or it could be a desperate attempt to remain on top by increasing the “perceived” value of his guns. I have tons of respect for ED and his guns, I personally believe them to be some of the better BP’s and of course the handmade quality is very alluring. But overall I fell like this is a bad move on his part and will only strengthen the competition by making them more accessible. Kalibrgun has the trajectory of a steamroller right about now and apart from a major problem with their guns I don’t see them stopping anytime soon. Just my :2cents:
That just makes our used ones worth more $$$ !
Sounds to me like eds trying to sell off the excess guns he has before the p12s start showin up ….
Ed can raise the price as much as he wants, we can just print more money. :1:
It is business as usual, At least Ed announces that he is raising the price of his Edgun. When was the last time you heard of an Airgun company announces price increase?
I sure have not heard of any announcement from any other company when they raise their price, on their guns, publicly. They just do it.
And my interest in a Matador has just decreased. Honestly, I have been on the prowl for a .25 for quite a while and a Matador was right behind a Cricket on my list. I just have not found exactly what I want in a used gun. I can always order a new Cricket. Granted, I may have to wait, but not unobtainable.
Ridetoeat – Where are you in S. IN.? I am near New Albany. Other than a few in the Jasper area, not many air gunners around here that I know of.
Ed really need to keep his R3 Breech assy. available to those who want it. Having a multi shot is fine but his design is so simple, why not offer both ?? Convertibles if you will….
Woof.
After the R3M fiasco and the 30cal debacle i’m not sure this is going to go over too well. :angrymob:
Shit, with the way the USA has been printing money I can’t believe the increase didn’t come sooner.
Which is exactly how Ed argues in this case…..
However, – you find numerous examples of industries in a competitive environment trying to “sweat it out” and live with smaller margins in order to deal with competition. And some say ED really has some serious competition from the Kalibr operation. I would agree to a certain extent, – but he certainly does not seem to fear that competition much. It will be interesting to follow this development now with the Chinese P12 (and others entering the market). Kalibr is actually in a very bad position here, – with the Chinese newcomers trying to squeeze them from “below” while Ed seemingly is trying to “stay on top” of them imagewise.
Interesting times ahead….. 😉
– says Trygve :biggrinn:
In most industries manufactures increase prices yearly, so it would only make sense that Ed would increase the prices of his guns on a regular basis to keep up with inflation and the changes in pricing from his suppliers.

Of course you don’t mind paying for his golden shitter cause your part of team edgun and you scream it loud and proud…lol…
I on the other hand only have 1 edgun and will never buy another…for starters…1 edgun is enough…and 2 after seeing a few of his business practices, I’d rather buy my gun/guns from a manufacture that has great customer service and parts to buy if needed….
Maybe eds service is great in Russia or Estonia but here in the old U.S OF A it’s not so….
His representative replies in 2 words and doesn’t help much in terms of making you feel comfortable if your having a problem with your rifle….I’m not saying tony is a bad guy…but it wild be nice to have some assurance that things will get taken care of in a timely fashion. Just my :2cents:
And p.s
I’m not trying to disrespect you ride just not a fan of edgun like I use to be after seeing what I saw out if Ed..maybe if you go back through the forum and read what problems people had and how they were taken care of…maybe you’d feel different. :confusedn:
