Q:

Edgun: Not In Defense of the auto mechanism without Kool Aid

In another thread there were some claims that are out there. In fact, so far out there that I decided and feel this topic deserves its own thread but without ass kissing and without Kool Aid.

So, here is the statement that I dispute:

quote RIDETOEAT:

I will say I would like a glassy smooth bolt feel from beginning to end like the R3 but that is not possible with what has to happen when using an auto advance mechanism, nobody else’s is either. Ed has given us and his guns both the option to have it both ways. Smooth as the old and auto advance if you desire. This was an obvious intention or there would be no disconnect. If it was solely for not double loading we could of just pulled the mag. and I would of expected that in a design that is known for simplicity.

Show me to problems it is causing with loading or accuracy or you are full of hot air and wasting words. I am headed to the range, for some more 30 yard testing and breakin due to cold and convenience of it. 100 will be the deal but not for me today. i’ll leave it to you warm weather guys.

I have taken the liberty of cutting his diatribe for the sake of brevity to focus in on the the real issue.

Ok, I just got in from shooting for over 3 hours. I went through a bunch of pellets and as I have previously stated, the issue was not with accuracy as I confirmed today. Shooting my 25 cal long R3M was just as accurate as my single shot R3’s. The accuracy was good and I’m talking out to 100 to 120 yards where I was able to consistently pound 3/4 and 1″ targets most of the day. It took about 500 to 600 pellets to get it to this state of accuracy. No complaint there.

The closest targets are at 100 yards, then 110 yards and lastly the two in the back near the white Romney sign are at 120 yards. Those targets are great fun to shoot at! No comments about the Romney signs as we are keeping the dream alive. 🙂

Now to address the real issue:
The multi shot is still not indexing properly 100% of the time. There were moments where it didn’t index and I shot puffs of air. The bolt is not smooth and as you pointed out above, not possible with what has to happen when using an auto advance mechanism, nobody else’s is either.

REALLY! What flavor Kool Aid do you like best because you are certainly drinking a lot of it! Either that or your smoking some powerful cigarettes. 😯

And for you I have this answer:
How come the following air guns all have multi shot capability and all are smooth as silk and much easier to cock?
1) FX (not a big fan of the brand but all mine are smooth)
2) Daystate (quality)
3) Theoben (smooth but requires more muscle than above two)
4) Kricket (especially smooth and easy)

In fact, the Daystate can be cocked effortlessly as can the FX and Krickets. The R3M bolt assembly is not smooth and difficult to cock. The advancing mechanism also leaves much to be desired as has been stated numerous times by multiple users.

I am going to take Ed up on his offer to return the gun to Tony but not for a refund but for an exchange. I want to see if this is an inherent issue or if the mechanism needs to be reworked. If the exchange proves to be problematic as does the original, then I will take the time to rework it and see exactly why it is performing the way it is. Obviously, there is an issue. Either this is an issue with all new R3M’s or perhaps mine is a lemon, the exchange will prove which it is. I think mine is a lemon because I was shooting with a friend and his was far different than mine.

On a different note, those of you who own a new R3M, which new R3M do all of you have as posted below:

WE’LL CALL THIS ONE MODEL #2

T’is a wonderful sight it is, huh?. 😛

I see that the lemmings are out in force tonight. 😯

Hi MG,

If I recall correctly, you are the very first person to have the R3M in the US. I may concluded that you have picked up the gun in person at Tony’s place. May I ask, did you hand picked the gun out of the batch yourself or Tony handed you the box labeled with your name on it?

It is important to know some facts first before we can speculate/assume the real problem behind all this. Some people acused you to have a different agendas.

JohnP

Very well said Bleece! you beat me to it..

Hi Bleece,

sorry can’t take the risk to see it confiscated upon departure or arrival, so “proxying” is needed.

Long story short, I know something very similar already happened.

ATB 😀

Yep. We lemmings know enough not to alter or damage the product before asking for a refund or exchange, even with our heads up
to our necks in our anuses. MG expects the exchange policy of a WalMart. But what MG wants Ed cannot give him, a “perfect gun”. No matter what the buyer has paid, accepting to exchange a damaged product from him now would have to be up to the discretion of the seller. Most lemmings are made too sensitive by our freshly made kool-aid to sympathize and support MG, given his atrocious, miscalculated, ridiculously silly approach of offending everyone—especially the one man he wants a favor from.

And, yes, it would be a favor, an act of courtesy, not a required business/customer service anymore by the seller, given now the damaged item. Who would extend a courtesy to someone spewing anger and offense at him like MG does? and admitting to us “ass kissers” that the tone of his messages are a “tad off” doesn’t redeem him one “tad”.

He has a right to be “ticked off” because he has the power to be ticked off, but that “ticked off” is a result of his own reasoning, which we lemmings don’t share. And he does have a right to be offensive and demeaning and disrespectful here because forum rules give him the power to do so—and we have the right to be offended. But MG doesn’t not have a right to have his demand met, that would take a power he doesn’t have. His own “head in his ass” approach to redress has been plainly miscalculated. You pay the consequences, especially when your so-called rights can’t stand up to someone’s power not to grant them to you.

So, in the end, MG, you’re just going to have to be left muttering off somewhere to yourself, the way you most likely do about so many other things that you’ve been powerless to make go your way. Pippo has given you a way out on the stock. But he should do the deal through you, not by proxy with Ed. As for the “perfect gun”, again, Ed can’t give it to you. Unfortunately, given the satisfied customers with a similar issue but not your perception of it, or your tone and attitude, does indicate the “terrorist customer” mentality. You won’t be satisfied with a second gun. (Yea, I know already, MG, I just took another sip from a cup of kool-aid. And, also, before you think you have to remind me, I’ll get a life as soon as I can.– How do you do it, your always here? You’re busy working on machines. Yea.)

*I see that now you’re fishing for more ammunition, asking about “fingerprints”? Running out of things to attack and offend with.
Ed should ignore your cross-examinations. Nobody cares about Ed’s travel history. The same as nobody would care about yours. You have no power to make him respond to your traps and set-ups. But it looks like he has. What are you going to do with that, MG?

Your latest “Warning” thread indicates you’re running out of strategies. You’ve been completely despicable, ugly, you deserve no courtesy from Ed. You complained about customer service and lack of readily available Stateside source of parts way before you paid for your latest purchase. Despite the negatives and risk, you damaged that high-end product and now you don’t get to renege.

P.S. My .22 Long shoots beautifully, and is still undamaged.

Please, quote me like you do the others. Your responses are mere mutterings now, repetitive, angry. We’ve come to expect nothing less from you.

I really don’t care what you say. You’ve worked yourself into a pathetic state and situation. Your doing. The others who support you also knew what might happen when they made their purchases from someone who was rushing to get out a .30 caliber to pacify all the clamoring for one. If he doesn’t want to start a store here in the U.S., that’s his business, literally, and we all know that. You want riskless transactions. Not going to happen given Ed’s environment and business model. He does the best he can. He’s not FX nor Kalibre (Sorry, I just took another sip of kool-aid).

Oh, yea, call me Troll, Pinhead, Ignorant, etc. I see my posting as contributing to the call for some civilization in the type of dialogue I see here sometimes. You think you can say anything and not pay the consequences for it. You have a right to the consequences you’re receiving because you have the power of your offensiveness and disrespectfulness paving the way.

I don’t normally get this low-down in my comments, but though your reasoning doesn’t persuade very well someone that’s sated on kool-aid, your hateful, angry tone can infuse itself into one and influence their own tone, but it’s all in opposition to yours.

So, in conclusion, with our lemmings’ cups of kool-aid in hand.
And a swipe of them up our lemming asses
— Here’s to you, MG… Clink-Clink. Believe in America… Cheers.

I don’t judge America, of course I understand that it is impossible to know it for one month. It is just my feeling, good country, many interesting things, good and open minded people but not mine. I was in many countries, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Egypt, Maldives, and some others I don’t recall now :), the only country I felt like at home was Czeck Republic, I think that is the only contry I could live but Russia.

I, defenetly, devide American people and American government and don’t mix them 🙂 I like to be at this forum, I like to talk with people here, and I am really sorry for I will not go there to meet people I would like to meet. So, as someone told taht EDgun meeting point for American guys could be in my town — you are more then welcome I would accept you with pleasure, to show my country!

I feel much less violated now. 😎 Maybe just slightly abused but i can live with that.
To be honest those relatives are idiots. I know what to call them from now on.

Lol. Sorry, fixed it for you.

I have relatives living in the Masshole. I feel a bit violated … 😯

So, let me get this straight. You came to the USA but you won’t come now because they want to take your fingerprints and you refuse to give them your fingerprints.

Then how did you come to the USA before?

They began to take fingerprints about five-six years ago, I went there about 12 years ago. I got a job proposal in Boston, but living in US for a month I realized that US is not the country I would like to live in.

Twins were alive that time.

quote Ed:

Huh, huh. But you won’t come back because you have to give your fingerprints now. Is that correct?

Correct.

Yes, I’ve been staying in USA for about a month, New York, Boston, Syracuse.
