Maybe I’ve missed something….
But if the mildot is true…. where is the discussion?
1) His scope is fixed magnification, in this specific case it is 12x
2) He has requested the manufacturer to make the reticle in order that one mildot corresponds to 10 cm at 100 meters (regardless of the magnification)
3) Probably if Ed would make a fixed 6x magnification then he would ask the manufactur to make the reticle so that one mildot corresponds again to 10cm at 100 meters.
So in any case, on Ed’s fixed magnification scopes one mildot will alwyas correspond to 10 cm at 100 meters, regardless of the fixed magnification.
In this situation, when using Strelok you have always to set your scope as it was a 10x scope.

100 mm at 100m is a milliradian so a mil based scope should do that regardless its fixed mag. That’s what i’ve tried to say all along 😉

Yes, Edgun scope is working perfectly for me. I will try and test it to 150 yards coming weekend
Not… in Strelok you put: max mag 12x and ranging mag also 12x and it’s done.
Well English isn’t my first language neither but I think Ed is trying to say the following:

It is not variable magnification. If the reticle is calibrated to the actual magnification, it will be true, regardless of whether it is 12x, 11.7x or something different. Any minor change in magnification that might occur due to diopter adjustment is so small that you will not be able to measure it, let alone be affected by it while shooting.
In that case if magnification is not exactly 12x then the reticle will not remain true.
This os getting nowhere since we obviously speak about different things here. Cricket understands my point though it seems.

It’s a SFP scope
Ed, in your scope is the reticle fitted in front of the magnification lenses or behind the magnification lenses?
Or if I rephrase my question. Is the reticle fitted between the object lens and the magnification lenses Or is it fitted between the magnification lenses and the eye piece?
I don’t know why you are discussed the changing magnification scopes and their reticle if EDgun is fixed magnification 🙂
