Nice vid and nice hunt’n! You a bad dood!

What drops my jaw, as I watch it happen, is the uncannily steady hold that Ted has when he shoots.

I honestly believe he does it without any mechanical aids, but to watch those crosshairs line up on those squirrels, and stick there like glue, gives me chills. Not on the best day in my entire life could I ever hold that steady without wrapping myself around a tree, with the barrel nestled in the fork of the branches!

Kudos, Ted! In those Arnold Schwarzenegger sunglasses, you look like the Terminator, and I’m thinking you could out shoot that sucker too!

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

Even as grown men sleep, visions of Matadors running through their heads, rumors are rampant that Ed is working feverishly on the design of the R4 “Ambiguity”. Whispered by knowledgeable parties to be the world’s first totally silent, invisible, “Stealth” PCP! Hence it’s unusual name. Just a rumor of course…or is it???????

Have you ever had a airgun that you’ve own for a year and not found any accuracy changes between seasons ? I’d like to know if that happens to all airguns.

Also, you have a “clean your barrel dry “video. What solvent do you recommend ? What exact procedure ? Please make a video with that type of cleaning before somebody buys your gun .

I personally intend to buy the Sanyo SH1 camera. It shoots HD, pretty good zoom, but most importantly it shoots in 120/300 fps and I can watch my pellets flying . Do you think 120 fps will be enough? The resolution at 120 fps is 640×480 and at 300fps is 320×240. At what fps are you shooting those shotgun shells ?

Hi Ted,

We all know your Casio. What is your second camera? Also, you said you didn’t liked the behavior of the Matador in theο»Ώ 0 Fahrenheit area. Did you find a cure or it was just a incident ?

My other camera is the orange Panisonic DMC-TS1 that I had mounted (upside-down) on my scope in the earlier videos. It takes great HD video, using the AVCHD codec (which gives me 2 hours of HD recording time on a 16gb SD card). I’ve also found the AVCHD codec to be smoother than .MOV or motion-.jpeg. Not by a lot, but still noticeable.

Re: the Matador and cold weather: it still doesn’t seem to shoot as well as it does during the warm months. But, the main problem on that trip to the range was a filthy filthy barrel. Cleaning it with solvent put it back on track. And when I say it doesn’t shoot quite as well, that means that the 1-1.5″ groups at 100 yards are more like 2″. There is NO worry about missing a squirrel at 30 yards, so long as I do my part.

Thanks, Ted. Your camera work is every bit as good as your shooting. I thoroughly enjoyed both πŸ˜€

As for your question at the end, I’d never even think of asking it πŸ˜‰

Let’s get this party back on track!

Hoot, you are a master of chaos…..and my new Q&A spokesman. πŸ’‘ Congratulations!!!

Everyone, please direct all future questions to Hoot’s in-box. There is no question he can’t answer (so long as facts are not important to you). πŸ˜†

TED…..PLEASE call Ed and have him reserve me a new “R4 EDGUN AMBIGUITY” in caliber 5.5mm. Even if you don’t have room for one, I sure do!

And thanks for the heads up! You said “…months”, are we talking 3 to 6 months? So, the US buyers Matadors on order are going to other buyers, and we get the new R4? You mentioned new paint? Will there be a choice of color??? Do the five to ten batches Ed is currently working on have the NEW LW barrel? I can’t believe you are getting 5 – 10 orders a day already. Ed better get another 10 R4 batches started! These new “AMBIGUITY” models are going to sell like hotcakes!

WOW!!! A virtual goldmine of information! Unbelievable!

Hoot 😯

(EDIT) Oh! Excuse me. I misread Ted’s post. It was an honest mistake, really! The sound of the drums in my head, the blinding lights, the screaming of dying wjld animals….I became disoriented as to time, place, and event. This usually only happens when I am exposed to certain dried cactus products, referred to by my holistic medical practitioner as “Buttons”.

The last thing I want to do is stir things up and cause confusion, mayhem, misdirection, and embarrassment! NOW I understand what Ted was saying. Wait for our Matadors, and be happy because they have the new R3/R4 barrels!

Still, I do have one question….why is Ed naming his new rifle “AMBIGUITY”? And, why would Ted not have room for one? Huh?

I think I was able to comprehend the essence of your rather verbose plea, Ted. You’ll SOON be so busy making the “Edgun R3 .25 vs. Edgun R4 .25” that you have decided to relinquish all your R3 .22 customers to Tony. Just for the moment πŸ˜†

LOL – You saw right through my ruse. And I there is a fine line between being thorough and verbose. Perhaps I did cross that line – or maybe I passed it 3 miles ago. But, I did not want to leave any room for ambiguity. πŸ™‚

Guys,

There has been a MASSIVE misunderstanding. Many of you have been contacting me asking when the R3 .22 will be available because you want an R3 vs. the current Matador.

While he R3 .25’s will be here soon, any ship date for the R3 .22 and other calibers is completely UNKNOWN to me. I don’t even know if work is complete on the model. I don’t work for Ed, he doesn’t tell me these things. I simply threw my hat in the ring early – and I mean EARLY. For that matter, I have also ordered an R4 :D.

I own a Matador, so I have the luxury of waiting as long as want for a new Edgun. If you do not yet own a Matador, and want to change your order to an R3, keep the following in mind:

I do NOT know when or if the R3 .22’s will get here. It may take months, years…hell, it may never get here considering how difficult the two governments are making things, not to mention the growing demand for Edguns on the international market. So, if you decide to wait….and your [currently reserved] Matador goes to another buyer (and it will), and the R3 .22 never comes to the States, do NOT come back at me all pissed off, claiming I gave you information that I did not.

Finally, bear in mind that the barrels on all new Matadors are the new style of LW barrels – the ones that Ed showed us a photo of a while back. Once Ed got those new barrels specially made by LW, I have no idea how he could improve his gun any more (maybe add a sexy different coat of paint on the stock ;)). And if you have a Matador .22 on order, it HAS that new barrel.

Finally, for all I know, there could be 5-10 more “batches” of super-accurate-you’ll-never-find-the-gun-anywhere-else “regular” Matadors shipped here before the R3 ever hits the soil.

I mean it guys! Pass this message on. I don’t usually like “shouting” so many words, but I have a suspicion that I have only seen the tip of the iceberg on this.

Here is what I DO KNOW: I get 5-10 private messages on my Youtube account every day from serious buyers, asking where they can buy this gun in the U.S, and I point them to Tony. I actually get so many requests that I have a pre-written letter to copy/paste.

If you “give up” your Matador .22, you are back on the horrible horrible “waiting” list.

Proceed at your OWN RISK. I am absolving myself ENTIRELY from this matter.

Ted

We have very good and famous movie about the militsia and their hard work or fighting the crimes after the Second World War. There was a hero, named Zheglov, here is the video from that movie:

He says: Thief must be in a prison! Nobody cares how I put him there!” And I agree with him, we have too mild laws to the crime people, too mild πŸ™
