Q:

EXPERT AIR ???

I bought two 3000 psi bottles from Expert air, one was regulated for 1200and the other for 2000.

I was under the impression that I could fill those bottles that say 3000 psi to say,….3000 psi.

maybe I was wrong , but I thought the whole idea is to get regulated shots from a 3000 psi bottle.

well, I went to fill them for the first time today off my scuba tank that was just filled .

The first bottle regulated for 1200 psi blew something at about 1500 psi

the second blew at at about 22-2300 psi .

causeing a tiny cut on the side of my face. 👿

Did I do something wrong, or are the tanks screwed up??

Misread that the first time…. Both versions are accurate.

I will rip your eyes out and skull fuck you! LOL!!!!

Eh!

This is awesome information. Just take the information, without the curly bits, lesson learned. However mentally screwed in. With Voltars way you can be damn sure its mentally etched in for life. Its not a bad thing, just his way. Sure he wanted to correct you 100% and never see this ever happen again. Or see you or anyone become anything less,..
TAG = some remote possiblity that you know what your doing with that 3000psi bomb 😳 Good to know, before contacting the shop.

Like the Dirll Sergeant at basic training.

Only fill Paint Ball HPA through the fill nipples or risk losing an eye!
Should almost point the burst disk at the ground or away from naked things. 😯

Tron I think we need a fill section. 🙂

Hey voltar you know what? I dont need any smart ass remarks , I was asking a simple question.

You want to help out ? fine. I appreciate the help. but keep your remarks limted OK?

I filled my tank the way I filled my airforce tank. Seemed simple enough.

Obviously , I did it wrong. dont rub my nose in it Ok?

I was being as honest and as descriptive as I can.

I dont build or rebuild valves , I dont know jack shit about valves .

Im a shooter, not a machineist , Im Just asking about what went wrong and why.

I have some further questions but Im not going to bother posting it on here .

Don’t take it personally,It’s not like i’ve ever took the bait and had him ruffling my feathers before! 😛 .
With respect,i value all the info the crusty bugger has to offer us.He knows his shit, and i’ve learned a lot here and off of the CAF from his writings.
Walter 😎

I certainly learn something from Walter every time, even if he drives me nuts in the process… 😆

There has to be some level of ownership on the part of the consumer. They have to realize that they are dealing with high pressure air here and that can be dangerous….and as such, should be doing their homework.

I dont see where the vendor should be at fault at all. He is selling a product with dummy proofing devices in place, ie the burst disc.

Walt comes across rough at times, sure… but he gives solid advice. Who gives a rats ass if he is a little curt at times with his advice?

Imagine how boring a forum this would be if everyone was a polite as me? 😎

Thanks Rob, you are right, you are the nicest sweetest guy here for sure! 🙂

I got caught presuming that the filling was so straight forward as to be impossible to make a mistake. I was wrong about that and correct in the reason for the disks blowing.
As Randy fessed up he had done the deed as well.
So now it makes a lot of sense for fellas unaccustomed to HPA tanks from paintballing. I can see now how an empty tank, AF fill adapter and pressure source becomes a very dangerous situation.

Be good if this could be communicated to all Airforce owners.

Thanks “hold over” for making this fill problem known. I might have made the same mistake with muchworse consequences.

“Voltar_1” even your nasty way of speaking up for the poor vendor who apparently doesn’t care to take part in this great forum, helps get some info out. That isn’t the nicest way, but your knowledge and input is appreciated. Just your manners suck.

Walt’s like the IT department guy you call for help, fixes the problem but berates you the entire time.

Well you’re close I suppose. I am an instrument mechanic and so fix operators screw ups and make engineers junk work. So being a smartass kinda comes natural, nearly a job requirement. 🙂
and so don’t you know…. I’m pretty good at my job! teehee

Hold Over we are here to help. Don’t let Walter bother you. He pulls this condescending stuff on other airgun forums but we do not welcome it here and he knows it.

We all are at a different place on the learning curve and we should not forget that.

We should feel good helping each other here not make somebody feel bad because they made a mistake with their gun. This is the kind of nonsense that drove people away from the TOG when Denskin, Don, Walter et al pulled that stuff on new guys.

no the truth doesnt offend me Walt.

I dont even have a quick connect .

listen I m not going to bother to ask anymore questions ,

next time Ill just PM someone .

quote Hold over:

how much info did you need ? I filled the tanks from my scuba tanks

I would have mentioned the airforce adaptor but I figured it was was a given ,

when someone asked I said “”yes it was my airforce adaptor””

I thought it was pretty clear.

Well as you can see we needed more info than you provided. Does it all make sense now? You see from where I am coming from it seems near impossible for someone to screw up by not filling into the ‘fill’ nipple quick connect. So IMO the story was like pulling nails.

Sorry the hard truth offends you. Surely not my intent. I am about solid info and questions I ask are not just for you nor are the statements just for or about you. So I am trying to say don’t take it all so personal.

Walter…..

YN, you hit the nail on the head.
