Q:

EXPERT AIR ???

I bought two 3000 psi bottles from Expert air, one was regulated for 1200and the other for 2000.

I was under the impression that I could fill those bottles that say 3000 psi to say,….3000 psi.

maybe I was wrong , but I thought the whole idea is to get regulated shots from a 3000 psi bottle.

well, I went to fill them for the first time today off my scuba tank that was just filled .

The first bottle regulated for 1200 psi blew something at about 1500 psi

the second blew at at about 22-2300 psi .

causeing a tiny cut on the side of my face. 👿

Did I do something wrong, or are the tanks screwed up??

I did use my air force adapter to fill them.

I didnt know anything about blowing disks with them .

It looks like that may have been the problem.

I dont remember seeing any directions on how to fill or not fill , but it was a while ago and I honestly couldnt say for sure.

Rob, Im pretty sure I bought them from the link you posted .

Having only owned an AF setup, this is good to know…

So The Edge tank has to be filled from the nipple and not the way a typical AF tank is filled…

Sounds like that has to be the cause.

At least the fix is relatively easy. 😉

So is it safe to say never fill from the regulated end of a tank? 😕

be like filling your gas tank through the air cleaner/carburetor

Sounds like that has to be the cause.

I wound’nt make something out of the cut, its like a shaveing cut , no big deal,

but I was upset about the tanks, I explained what they for and how I was going to use them .

I’ll give him a call this week ,

but I was just giveing you guys a heads up and also wanted to know if I did something wrong.

Holdover, can you explain your fill procedure?
what you used for filling?
I am betting it was not the tanks.
I am also betting you used the Airforce adapter to fill as if it was an Airforce tank.

Any commets?

Well what can I say I wasted 4 bucks on a burst disk and learned something but seriously if I would have took the time to think about it and looked at the different fill pressures on the disk I would not have done it.

Oh well at least I have someone who knows about high pressure close by eh Walter. 😳

Yeah I tried to pump it up with my PCP pump, just a dumb move on my part.

But I did learn how to replace a burst disk. 😆

It would seem instructions ARE needed Walt’ 😉

I think you’re right……

on of my fav songs!

I’m not blaming anyone, but i’d say fucking up the burst discs is enough to include instructions…

Do you forget your meds or something… Did joechemtrail hijack your account and start posting? 😕

quote synopsys:

Hmm, it’s possible to fill it backwards…

Sounds like it needs fill directions…

🙄

not possible hence blown burst disks.

I can see how a guy with an Airforce fill would make just such a mistake

Just don’t see that the Expert HPA vendor is to blame. User/buyer beware

quote Voltar_1:

I call bullshit on the requirement for directions for use. You go into any paintball shop, buy a HPA tank with reg and you will NOT get instructions as they presume you know your ass from a hole in the ground and so sell it to you.

Because most people dont fill it themselves when they buy a paintball tank, they hand it to a clerk at a store or field and they fill it?
