FFP scopes
Well I went and done it, been looking at entry level/cost FFP scopes for the last week and was really looking at the Falcon Menace 4-14×44 until someone commented that BSA has one (Midway exclusive not even on BSA site) that is an almost exact copy except for the turrets, that is rumored to be made by the same company. So went ahead and ordered both, BSA from Midway and the Falcon from SWFA. Figure I’ll check them out and keep the better of the two.

I think a lot of shooters get high magnification scopes and then develop sort of a dependency on the higher magnification. I remember when all I had was 4x scopes and they where always good enough then, now I couldn’t imagine having a scope that limited on magnification for longer range stuff.
On my hawke sidew 8,5-25×44 I usually using 10x 14x 16x and really maximum 20x only for finding holes on target. Therefore I guess that 14 mags should be enough for most situation… 😳
Not for hunting of course, I am using 10 x for all hunting.
But I mean for the target practice you need more magnification.
I was thinking the same, mind as well put in an extra 100 for the high magnification.
Delta is very good too but a lot expensive. Do you think falcon 5-20 will be better choice than 4-14?
I like the FFP because as stated your poi doesn’t change as you change magnification, easier/faster to range with at any magnification, easier to make elevation adjustments via turret knob, and their the only scopes I used while in the military and as for Hemm stating that theres no advantage to using a FFP scope under 16x I don’t understand his reasoning. In hunting situations I rarely go over 12x and most of my hunting is 75-100+yds or ground squirrels in open fields as after the first day of shooting if they catch a glimpse of you their gone. I think if you ask most shooters anything over 16x is used for bench rest shooting, HFT has a 12x limit to simulate hunting.
I think B20 reticle is best choice. One negative thing is pretty heavy. I did not find many videos on youtube with B20 reticle 😳

Guys,,,
if this post is a wrong info or i am still need to understand the FFP,,,then just ignore it and please somebody else give me some advice regarding the FFP scopes and like brother Donny asked about how to zeroing/ site-in the FFP scopes …
i want to say,,, in point of my view i think there will be no big useful/ or benefits or wisdom of having a FFP scopes with low magnifications like 10x or 12 or 14x,,,, i think since you will prefer the FFP scope you should choose a scope with the magnification above than 16X or so….
Donny ,, with FFP scope you will have the same point of impact within all the powers/ magnifications … i like the Falcon FFP,,,and Bushnell has a FFP as well with a great reticle ,,,, also Ville told me about the Delta,,,, they are manufactured in Japan if i am not wrong ,,,and they have a very good reticle ….
Edit; I like that Vortex FFP that Ted has showed in this vid
Bunch of a-holes.. I’ve been trying to decided between these scopes for about two weeks. Vry much want the bush with the g2dm reticle but I just don’t think I can swing the min $900 price tag. I love the horus reticles with the grid for bullet drop and windage but anything other than a horus scope with it is going to cost $1500. The horus is $800 and I have only heard a few reviews and they all commented on a lack of repeatable tracking and sub par optics. Can’t spend that kind of cash for that.. Right now I’m stuck with a top of the line leapers 4×16 etched glass scope. It may be top of the line and well worth the $150 I paid for it, but its just not up to the task with this edgun. It was fine with my mrod, but I’m feeling like its holding me back on this gun. If you guys end up liking that falcon men 5×25 I may end up with one. I’ve head great things about the bsa but want more than x14 power.
I never said this anyone but I would like to take some of your problems off your shoulder 🙂
Have 4 Harleys just because I could…..3 of them haven’t been ridden in over 2 years. Like I said I have a problem.
Haven’t decided, I have a problem with buying stuff just to look it over even If I don’t “need it”.

Is this going on your .25 Cricket?
I thought about the B20 but decided on the ML16. I”ll probably get the B20 when I order the Falcon 5.5-25×50 as I still want to try this one no matter which one I keep of the 4-14×44.

I am leaning more towards the Falcon Menace with the B20 reticle. The numbers in the lower holdovers will definitely make aiming faster.
Damn Donny thats one I didn’t find in my FFP search although by the looks of that thread the same company is making the same scope for 3 different companies. Although I don’t like the reticle choice that Primary Arms chose for theirs for air gunning.

Well both the Falcon and BSA shipped today and tracking shows the 21st for the Falcon and the 20th for the BSA which will be nice as I’ll have all day Saturday the 22nd to play with them.
