Hammer fix
Lately I’ve noticed with 25 Vulcan the 40-50 and beyond yard shots where not slam dunk anymore. Well this morning after a horrendous outing I figured I’d better look into it.
I whipped out chronograph and viola the answer was clear. First it was shooting 880-990 to start off with. Last time I checked it was 930 or so. So I took your the hammer screw and was able to move velocity around but not consistent at all. Extreme spread was 25 and then some. My 80 yard groups showed it too. So I took it apart but had to reverse drill out two of the screws holding the side plate. (thanks Zonk for the 2 spares you sent me) I took hammer out and wiped it clean. Then I noticed the one end where trigger catches hammer was sharp. So I smoothed out the edges using a drill to spin hammer and taking some cloth to the edge. 
While I had it apart I figured I might try to do something with hammer spring too
I put it to the test through chrony and settled for 920 with es of 2 with 20 shots tethered to my tank. Major improvement to say the least.
I went and did a accuracy test and it puts 3 pellets through a hole not much bigger than the pellet at 50 yards.
I’m so happy to have my Vulcan back to its usual self.
The piece on the spring is a rubber grommet that you use to insulate a hole to pull wires through. I can’t hear the spring at all. Problem is my gun got louder. Lol

Same here, I added two grommets and it’s very nice now.
Guys you can get a lot of different grommets. The longer the grommet the better. (to a certain extent) mine is huge and have pretty much done away with twang. I shot some sparrows today just to shoot it and listen how wonderfully quiet and tame it now is. It’s shooting 905 average over a whole clip.

I removed the smaller spring temporarily, held the hammer latch lever in position, fired it and it still has the spring twang.
Although the two appear to touch and the factory has come up with several inserts to hold them ?apart? But actually in contact, the twang does not involve the hammer latch spring.
Eelect’s cut down grommet helps but not totally. Hoot’s 2 grommet solution helps about the same. Hoot’s grommets are actually thinner so I believe that may be why it takes two to do about the same as eelect’s one grommet. But Hoot’s don’t need trimmed and look better.
The twang is not very annoying but it is a noise and solving the problem is a fun chase. I believe eelect’s grommet idea is better than what the factory has done.
I don’t yet have Ernest’s delrin spring guide but I hear it helps. But, the OEM brass guide is definitely wearing in my .22 Vulcan as with 1700 rounds the hammer spring area looks like it has been sprayed with brass dust and I found several brass flakes inside the stock. If for no other reason I will be getting the delrin spring guide.
As my previous post mentioned I have a total of 3 holes drilled in my shroud

guys, I think I joined the club properly. I mean properly, I had the thing apart, only the firing valve assembly and the bellevilles had not been touched by me. everything else went to bits.
I will attach 2 pictures showing how the gun shipped, 2 springs one white depinger. I got rid of it, was not very regular shape and was caught in between coils on the spring close to the brass bit.

… anyway. looking at the 2 springs. if you ask me there are freaking touching, not supricing itt is boingy. not only tha hammer but the long one which goes across diagonally to the link etc…
has anyone tried to put a bushing under the weak long spring fastening screw or something?
aa, I cleaned my barrel, adjusted the reg down, swapped rail orientation then I swapped back when the shroud would not move in the reverse rail position, what else, got rid of the factory
silicone thin tubing which was stuck between spring coils.
I hope it will regulate and hold pressure
will find out tomorrow, it is nightime here

I keep asking will an airsoft moderator fit, it has got 14mm threading. any idea?

can maybe an extra chamber created if we get the front of the shroud off and find an airsoft mod which maybe with the right large threading size FITS?!

Remember these pictures
Last week I posted about making the holes bigger in the aluminum piece so more air can be directed to the back of shroud. The pictures show what it looks like after increasing the ports. Well today I went and drilled two more holes on the bottom of shroud for a total of 3 holes. My first single hole was 1/8 of an inch in diameter but I made the two last ones smaller.
The first time I dry fired it I went wow. All three holes where billowing smoke out of the holes like a hippie smoking a cigar. That was pretty amazing how watch. I went and took it outside and fired a few shots and then I went WOW. This thing is has been transformed into an amazing short powerful accurate bullpup. I’m totally amazed how the grommet and shroud/hoot mod work. Guys these mods are very effective and can be done by almost anyone. They cost very little to do.

Another way a guy could get rid of spring twang would be to insert a heavy O ring inside of hammer spring. I will be looking into what the best device would be. If we could get a hold of a rubber plug.

next time I go in will try to put a spacer on the little screw which holds the think hammer latch long spring onto the action. may have to replace that screw with a different head one. if there is enough space to lift it off higher.
still trying to separate the 2 springs from each other.
I would like to have those spring guides too. Ernest please
