Q:

HOW OLD ARE WE???

Hey Guys 😀

I was just sittin here drinking a beer twidling with me belly button (as you do ), thinking about how much of a ‘fringe’ hobby this is. Then i started thinking about how young i was when i first started playing with air rifles. It was the early eighties, i was about 11 or so when i first started playing in the woods with them.

I’m 37 now. I’ve got an air rifle. i go to the woods and play with it.
In 20 years, you’ll find me somewhere, playing with me air rifle.

Roll Call.

Ages please. It can’t be just me whos getting older but still playing… 😕

OK, I am 45 and just starting to get into PCP guns. I do not even have one yet Tony is building me a .25 Condor. I started off with a Daisy BB gun when I was about six years old. The first pellet gun was a Benjamin pump in .177 that I took to the woods and hunted squirrel and Dove at the age of 14. Then came the need for power AK-47’s, AR-15, Sniper Rifles in .308 and .233 (ok I use them to deer hunt) then a few pistols(home protection). The only reason I got backing into air rifles is that I moved to a rural area that I can shoot safely out to 150 yards on my own property. The first one was the one reliable Benjamin .177 (to old to pump that thing like I did) then Beeman R-9 Goldfinger .22(I like it alot). So here I am reading every post to learn about Air Force rifles.

37. I’ve had an air gun since I was 8.

I’m 29.

My dad always had a BSA Meteor under the bed that he got from his dad in the 60’s.

I wasn’t allowed to use that as often as I liked and the local sports shops only sold cheap Air Pistols so I bought my own GAT air pistol when I was 14 by lying to the clerk about my age.

Did all the usual dumb stuff with the GAT, like going out with it in my pocket and shooting street signs, shooting friends, being shot by friends and shooting the odd cow now and then.

Wow.

Didn’t realize we had so many young folks.

I didn’t either…

Young folks – don’t always follow the way of the cool older guys. Often it will rot your brain… as if playing too many video games too close to the television screen.

Sincerely
ATP

I’m not alone!!!!!

I’m still the kid though. Any of you take that title away and I will hunt you down. 😈

I have been shooting AG’s since 6-7, maybe younger. I like air cannons too. 😈 I’m 15.

Hahahaha. I got a couple thousand bucks in paintball gear and gun laying around.

I built dozens of custom autocockers in my day.

Haha well this hobby kinda fell in my lap. I was a paintball fanatic and for years I every dollar I got went into playing the game. Eventually I realized I didn’t have the motivation to go to the next level of the sport and stopped. I got into firearms after going on a little expedition with my cousins and some .17 HMRs and a .308. Unfortunately where I live doesn’t really facilitate that kind of firepower. So I started lookin into alternatives to kill the garden foes around here and immediately I found airguns.

Anyways I’m 16.

35 here…. and been shooting airguns since I was 6 when I got a Daisy 880…. been hooked ever since.

Gotcha beat there rob……..Red Ryder just before I turned 4. Couldn’t even cock the thing by hand. Dad made a piece of 2×12 with a countersink in it which I’d put the muzzle in so it wouldn’t slip and could use my whole upper body to work the lever cocking action (felt then about like the last couple pumps on a 3kpsi fill does now). Wore it out as well as a couple 760s and a 66pumpmaster deluxe (the one that came with a scope). Took the plunge into PCP air rifles a little over 3 yrs ago now and never looked back. 35yrs young. Age is but a state of mind, I’m never going to get old, just more experienced.

Its good to put an age to the name. Kind of humanises the cyber thing a bit.

That right there is some good Hillbilly music. 😆

I guess I could have simply posted a link. I think it would pretty much cover everyone 16-30 or so.
