Q:

HOW OLD ARE WE???

Hey Guys 😀

I was just sittin here drinking a beer twidling with me belly button (as you do ), thinking about how much of a ‘fringe’ hobby this is. Then i started thinking about how young i was when i first started playing with air rifles. It was the early eighties, i was about 11 or so when i first started playing in the woods with them.

I’m 37 now. I’ve got an air rifle. i go to the woods and play with it.
In 20 years, you’ll find me somewhere, playing with me air rifle.

Roll Call.

Ages please. It can’t be just me whos getting older but still playing… 😕

Well, I quess that so far I’m the old fart here. 61 in a couple of weeks. Haven’t been shooting air guns that long. Got interested in Minisniping when I read Peter Capstick’s article in Guns and Ammo magazine back in 1984 (still have the mag.) but never had the place to shoot until recently. 😆

Started shooting powder burners when I was 7. Shot just about everything since: .22 rim fire and center fire, 7×57 Mauser, too many to list. Paper punched at MANY ranges, handgun silhouette with a 30-30 Contender. Military trained with a variety of weapons. LOVE a Ma Deuce.

23 here
I’ve been shooting airguns since I was old enough to aim my grandfather’s diana 25, and sometimes my grandfather’s .410 and 20 gauge and uncle’s 12 gauge, when I was old enough to handle the recoil.
Got some gamo model from my uncle at about 12, and I bought my own first airgun the first week after I turned 18 (legal age to own a non-competition airgun here).
I own 3 now, the old gamo, a Weihrauch HW97K and a Gunpower Shadow (Talon SS).

I’m 40teen. 😀

My fisrst gun was a Daisey pump ( 955 ithink ) that leaked air so i spent more time pumping it up than shooting it. I was probly about seven or eight.
I dont own a gun and havent for a lot ov years. Got a few in variouse stages of “made’ness”.

Dave,

I got fancy air rifles also. While they are great shooters, they mainly just sit in the their case until I go shooting.

The Talon for me is like a hot rod. I always get to change it up and tinker with it.

You’ll be back. Take a vacation and keep an eye out for those pesky ninjas

49 last June, started with “adult” air rifles just 2 years ago, first one was a Gamo CFX. Had a Daisy BB gun as a kid, looked like a double barrel shotgun. Don’t think I had it 6 months before my mom took it away, never saw it again. Owned lots of mostly magnum handguns over the years, got away from them when I lived in Seattle, just too much hassle trying to find a place to shoot. Never was much of a rifleman, to much recoil sensitivity, although shotguns were a second love to my handguns. Middle aged eyes have ended my pistol days, but I’m pretty damn good with my air rifles :-). Got my first Talon a year ago, have had two in the last year, but my last one is up for sale. Got an AA S400E for the other one, have my eye on an FX Cyclone if I can get the remaining one sold. I’ll still hang out here, though, if only to see what outrageous pic WOK will come up with next :-). Later.

Same kinda thing here. Only reason I got into airguns was I needed quiet.

When I first got an airforce airgun, I should have probably gotten a SS, for noise reasons. The power of the condor was very cool though. So I bought that, and a shroud. Now that I did that, I’m glad I did. I love it. Loving the airguns too. Probably never will get out of that.

Woo!

Half way through 41 here. I was shooting powder burners before I was out of diapers. Gotta love small towns and crazy uncles. Airguns were always something you used when it was illegal to shoot anything else. I found my way to the Talon SS for the same reason. I needed something I could shoot in town and low profile.

26yrs old… im at my peak 🙂

I’m 54 and I got my first Daisy pump at age eight. I wore that out and used powder burners until I started diving in Mexico in the early 1980’s. I needed something legal to hunt dove, rabbit and quail when I wasn’t shooting fish underwater. Those guns were RWS springers.

I now prefer PCPs over the springers but my powder burners still hold my heart out past 100 yards. AKULA

I don’t have a real sniper rifle. I have a remington xr-100 in .223. It’s awesome. 2 and 3″ groups at 600 yards. I adore that gun. Just got a jewell trigger for it, set at about 2oz.

Now I’m looking at getting a blaser lrs2. That’ll be a real sniper rifle. 😀

Mr lama all of my sniper rifles will do 1 moa at 200 yards or 1/2 moa or less at 100 yards. Yes, I spent alot of money on them.

Oh yeah. 🙂

How old was I when I joined tog? Anyone remember. I think it was late 14. Maybe 15. Can’t really remember….

The Taylor kid that everyone scared off was 14 😀 😀 😀

150 yards to shoot with airguns? I’m glad I don’t have that. It would be like my firearms, I would want 1″ groups out there. 😛 And constant work would ensue to try and achieve it.

Who’s the oldest and youngest guy on here? 15 is the youngest so far, 59 oldest. (don’t worry wilson, it just means you’re wise 😛 )

Stay away from video games kids. You’ll end up like cygnus. 😛

Just kidding cygnus, you’re the best.

Lets see now .. for me it’s 5 and 59…
