As others have mentioned you can’t get your scope zero’d in unless you have a scope with mega adjustment on tap.

I’m holding two mils under the bull with a scope that has 75 MOA of adjustment at 50 yards.

After reading this thread more I decided to recheck my mechanical centered zero on my scope for the new 25 Matador and see how much droop was built in. Hawke 8-32×56 on Warne med rings with center of scope 2.15″ above barrel center. Took couple test shots at 20x to target wall 120yds away and hit 1 mil dot high. That’s a zero of 130 yds with JSB 25s at 930fps.
Clicked out to get it to a 48 yd zero(optimized kill zone zero)verified impact at 48 and 120 on MOA box line per Chaigun. Dead on both spots and am 12 clicks from maxed out downward leaving me almost entire range to click up for max distance. Not sure I like being that far into click cycle for my normal zero.
My new scope arrived. Burris rings with posi-align inserts come tomorrow but I had some rings that just barely worked clearance wise and put it on my R3 standard .22.
Different rings/scope same story.
Use all the adjustment and I still had to hold two mils under the bull at 50 yards.
Love the gun though but can’t wait to be able to use the crosshairs..

Just talked to Kevin over at Straight Shooters and he says they work great to deal with break barrel rifles that have barrel droop. After hearing that I placed an order for my 25 standard. I liked the Burris ones but didn’t like the idea of having misc parts laying around. Just another option at half the price.

Did a quick and ugly sight in with a different scope this morning. By quick and ugly I mean I shot standing off a fuel tank at 55 gallon drum 31 paced yards away.
I put a Leupold 6×42 scope on. It mechanically has 78.5 MOA on tap.
I mechanically centered it.
Took a couple shots to get windage adjusted and measured I was shooting 12.5 inches high at 31 yards.
I just turned the adjustments down as far as they would go and came back a couple clicks to get off the end of adjustment range. Should of been 38ish MOA.
That put it dead on for discussion purposes.
Aimed at a tiny spot on a cement wall 50 yards away and nailed it.
Calling it good for shooting vermin until my Burris rings and Vortex PST 4-16 get here.

At 200 yards the scope rail drop is almost 16’… 😯 😯
That is a 96MOA rail… (that was just for rossall).

Sorry guys, I fucked up on the 5 or 10 degrees statement before but I did find the post that Ed himself posted on April 7 2011 and it is below.

If I can figure out how to draw it on paper I can do it, otherwise the numbers are simply too much.
Dyslexia is a gift and a curse. I can picture things upside down and backwards and figure out how to design/draw and build just about anything anyone can think of. Make me convert stuff like that in my head and I gloss over like a donut. 😉
For the pellet the drop at 50 yards should be 6.25″. The drop at 100 yards is 28.75″.
Scope height is only a factor if you are looking to determine a zero and click over and under.
I’m showing that at 2.5″ scope height you’d be 20 moa of drop at 86 yards (not including the rail drop).
With the rail drop at 86 yards you would have to click 8.6″ so you would have to use about 70 clicks out of your 160 (if you have a 1/8″ click scope).
By the calculations (without including the rail drop) you would only use 110 clicks at 100 yards.
160 clicks would get you out to 120 yards (not including the rail drop).
No but I didn’t have the most time to mess with it nor try further than 50 yards other than shooting off a door post at 70 yards at a old fuel tank just to get an idea where the hits were. Should of started with a bigger box for a target,LOL.
