Q:

I’m Stepping Away from BullPups !

I love the concept of the gun, great for packing and carrying on a single point sling.
I’ve owned, hunted, shot several pups in the past few years, and tested, shot, handled a few more.

I’ve come to the conclusion the the Pup isn’t for me, reason why ?

…..scope height, the bullpup design just don’t aloud you to get the scope as close to the bore as a rifle does, and in my type of hunting where shot distance is always an unknown and there’s not much time to play with mildots the excessive height of the scope is detrimental.

In the end I can achieve the same degree of packability with a folding or detachable stock rifle, and a carbine is just as comfortable in a single point sling.

so in the future I’ll concentrate on carbines with either a detachable or folding stock for tough hunts and the normal wood stock rifles for blind/hide hunts.

Guess my next project will be to make one of the said stocks for my MAX-ML .45 bull pup ;D ;D ;D

Bye bye BullPups !

manny , fuck all the the guns and hunt wild pigs like a real man , kill them with a spear . They do not require a scope and all you really
need to do is have the hunting skills to get in close which you seem to have . It work for hundred of years before any kind of gun was ever
designed . Who knows once you have tried it , maybe it will become a passion to be able to kill a wild pig at such a close range . Like a
Gladiator in a one on one fight to the death were only the best survives .

NP,

If or when you do get another pup, put a offset on it and then tell us what you think 😉

Sorry, but not even taking that into consideration.

My two cents manny I’ve hunted with keyser last Saturday In fact the 4th same day u went he hits anything from 10 yards to 160 yards on the fly! Using nothing but the focus on his scope for range determination being familiar with your holdover is crucial to Airguns after I seen his set up a while back using -20moa mount u can zero at 50 yards your near zero will be 12 yards and now u just use hold over
manny without the -20moa u would have to use hold under the mount puts your scope inline with the muzzle quicker eliminating hold under I don’t jump in the shit but I know ks has this one solved all said I believe it was u purchases that bad ass AAA try using a -20moa one piece mount it solves the problem!

well, since carbines do just fine without having to get no 20 MO thingy why should I put more work on pups ? I’m not that enamoured of that platform to need to put more work into it.

even with the 20 MO thingy, the ergonomics of a rifle are still better than the pup.

So what rifles are you lloking at getting? Just because I have heard bad things about evanix.

I’m not looking at getting nothing at all, I have my Pack of Killers, all Evanix, and for what I do they are perfect, Sumatra would be better but Evanix will do,…I leave all the fancy brands to others, my guns have been killers for a long, long time now.

At first I thought I could learn something from you I was mistaken.

I already told you how to fix the issue. No sense continuing the conversation. Like I said before no one but you cares what you hunt with.

And I told you already that after significant field testing the Cons of BullPups outweight the Pros of a Carbine,…..and if don’t care what I’m hunting with why are you stalking this thread than ?

I have used them like that and I have used M4 and a 300 black honey badger for very close work. I have had some time behind a trigger. Again I don’t really care if you want to hunt hogs like an Argentinean. The reasons you are giving are what I’m criticizing not your choice.

What part of the body where you shooting ? …let me guess, not the brain I’m sure.

so you are telling me that a gun with a high scope zeroed at 25 yards wont shoot over an inch low at 10 ?

You see ? I’m not using a high power rifle to blast things where shot placement can wander several inches, I’m using a low power airgun where precision is paramount, the precise brain shot is key, in the heat of the moment I want/like to put the crosshair there and shoot, I have no time to think, is it hold over or hold under ? LOL

Again you talking outta your ass with your examples, and Now I’m starting to think you so cough up with the BullPup trend that you feel extremely Butt hurt if someone is not bowing to the almighty BullPup :biggrinn: :biggrinn: :biggrinn: :biggrinn:

the lady doth protest too much methinks

LOL, deflecting the issue,…how come I’m not surprised in the least :biggrinn: some people are all talk no walk, typical.

Why does it matter so much what Manny uses to kill his Hawgs. I don’t care what he uses. Just don’t use a marauder. He’d be dead buy now

:fishing:

Bullpup Lover!

LOL, they have their place,…just not in my arsenal anylonger 🙂

Hehee

Me either.

The only one that temps me is the Vulcan so far. For no other reason then it is sexy.

NP,

I honestly give zero fucks what kind of gun your using. The issues you were having with pups was a easy fix. A offset mount and a crossbow red dot sight ( which have three aiming points ) and some range time should solved your problems. No need to get puffy :biggrinn:

Your right about me not being in hunting situations that you’ve been in…………………………………………………. I never hunted game rooster in the Hawaii jungle before :fishinghole:
