Introduction A New Hobby
Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone. I’m no one important. I use to be a lurker and a learner from the TAG Forum for the last 2 years. I’m an avid bow hunter and a powder burner hunter most of my life. I never cared to join any of the archery forum or the powder burner forum. I stumbled uponed TAG by accident and am addicted to reading the posts. From this point, I fell inlove with air guns, especially bullpup.
I have recently purchased the SPA P12. It has been a really controversial air gun lately.
Anyhow I humbly ask all of you members(masters of air guns) to be your student. I’m new at this exciting hobby so going to need all the help I could get.
Wingman, thank you for your indept review of the P12 and congrats on your newborn baby daughter. I have three but they are all grown up.

My dearest Uncle Hoot and everyone,
A “shifu” or “sifu” is a noun meaning “master” or “a teacher kungfu” in Chinese. We also pronounce “kungful” different also. It is “koongfu”.
I may have pronounced it the way I was taught. It was my attempt to translated over to the English/American language.
Anyhow for a scholarly gentlemen as you all are. I would have thought you all understood what I was trying conveyed. I considered you all are “masters” of your Art, The Art of Airguns. If this is not true, please let me know and I shall humbly apologise.
I also apologise for my poor English skill. Having four language in my brain is quite jumbled up. As I mentioned, English is the most challenging language for me to learn.

Shifu Coda, Euro Optics has the Sako Quad 22lr and the 17hmr in the Varmint walnut stock available instock. Btw…beautiful backyard you have. Full of moving targets. 😀
Teacher Hemn, I have a Browning Buck Marck TARGET rifle in the 22lr with a Burris target dot mounted on her. I have handled and shot the Browning A-Bolt 22lr also. It’s quite a nice rifle too. So cherish her well. But if you ever have the chance to purchase any Sako or Tikka rifles, please do it without any hesitation.
Ville and Wing, with all this talked about Sako rifles and Tikka rifles, I am considering not building my Sako Quad 22 Trainer. I had to dig deep down and ask myself “What do I do most and my family benefit from it?” Answer, “I hunt.” So after looking at all the beautiful rifle with walnut stocks you all posted. I have decided to go with a Sako Varmint Walnut stock and the Sako Quad bull barrels both in the 22lr and the 17hmr. They’re my favorite rimfire calibers.
Also THANK YOU TAG for the BULLPUP General Chat section where we could chat just about anything.

The Varmint is a good choice for both hunting and even for target work. .22 LR & .17HMR are both very nice RF calibers. .22LR is cheap to shoot and groups really well at least upto 150 meters-with right ammo. The HMR is one nasty little pill too when it’s not too windy.
BTW – Sako is going to release a new, updated Quad soon.
And last one question : what the hell Shifu ? Sushi made of Tofu ??

When it comes to Firearms, I have some experience, most of you could teach me about them also. On the other hand when it comes to airguns, I am an airgun VIRGIN. All of you here on the TAG are my teachers. Furthermore I am new here so I will tread CAUTIOULY. Please excuse my poor writing skill. English is very difficult to learn.

Indeed, the early 80s stuff was the best.. some of the finest Bofors steel barrels made to date in my opinion. I love the Sako Vixens, had one in .222 with the Mannlicher Carbine stock.. should never have sold it but it was an unused safe queen and our forests are to thick to “bush bash” with such a fine piece of timber..
Great looking Rifle! My Dad owns one with that same stock. Then again he owns 20 + Sako´s with all imaginable calibers and stocks. I´ve just placed an order for a new Tikka T3 Tactical in .222. Heavy Match barrel in 24″,threaded for a Silencer. Will order a T3 Sporter in 6.5 Swedish before Winter. A beautiful caliber for 300m target work – or Moose hunting if you wish.

Ville has explained to me that Sako is one of the wonderful rifles made ,,, great that you own them,,, actually i wanted to buy the .22LR Sako Quad rimfire rifle… full set,,,but still couldn’t get the import licence … otherwise i would buy it in a heart beat ,,,
before,,, my best .22LR were Browning T-Bolt and CZ 455 ,,, but after introducing Sako Quad by Ville,,,i converted to Sako Quad,,with all 4 barrels ,,
Nice sako’s, I know a couple guy’s that have em chambered in 6ppc. They use them in the annual ballon bust and egg shoots.
