Is the shroud clipping pellets or not(HELP HELP !!!)
I installed a new shroud on my .25 Tuned Condor, 12’ barrel last night I can’t tell if the gun is clipping. What is the best indicator of pellet clipping. I am shooting at 15 yds and after about 20 groups the pattern is showing the 4 out of 5 pellets are grouping nice and tight. Then in every group I seem to get a .50” flyer. It just seems to me that if I was getting clipping the pellets would be all over the place. What do the experts have to say about this.

you might have to take the hole thing apart out the but end and slide the barrel through the bottle collar and get a long brass rod and tap it out.

Butane did not do the deal..The threaded insert didn’t even budge and I pretty much had ice crystals hanging from the piece. I used the strap wrench and it still didn’t move in the least.
I don’t know how that tool from AutoZone is going to work as there is nowhere to get a bite on the insert of the body of the gun. No place for any leverage at all..I am going to end up burgering this piece up yet. I just know I am..
I am just going to have to get a hold of the fellow I purchased this shroud from and see what he suggests before I damage this thing..

The fellow who made the shroud has only told me to return it and has not offered any advise on how to remove the threaded insert. That is all I want to do now.. SF Rapid did post something on another forum but I did not take the time to bother paying any attention to it. If he can’t post it in the thread that is running then why bother..anyway.. The shroud just doesn’t work for me at all and just want to try and return it in one piece.

Okay, I have a can of “Ronson Butane Fuel” sitting here on my desk right in front of me. I need a game plan. Let me get this straight….I spray the butane directly on the aluminum insert. Now what should I use to grab a hold of this thing. I can’t chew the part up as I have to return it to the fellow that I purchased it from. I will be able to twist it with a strap wrench but I won’t have any leverage to pull it straight out. Time for a little ingenuity
If this don’t work, I will heading to autozone and rent a Pilot bearing puller….

Apparently someone has a suggestion to fix your shroud but is a bit too shy to post it here.
The only salution is to open up even more the bore of the baffles….it will not make any difference in the silencing.
I was going to pm you this solution but the moderators read the pm in that forum as most of their dirty work is carried out that way.

Off course “Steve” is assuming that you have the tools and inclination to drill out the holes to a larger diameter on a newly purchased shroud that to be honest – if your having a problem with someones work the person who preformed the work should be the first point of contact and given the chance to make it right.
To many guys think they have a problem, try and make a repair and cause even more problems – but Oykas.. I mean Steve doesn’t seem to get that.
Go to autozone and rent a Pilot bearing puller, it is a slide hammer with an internal expanded jaw. Insert the tool into the cap, expand the jaws and lightly tap the hammer backwards to extract the fitting.

just run to the store and get a can of butane for refilling cigarette lighters, should be two or so bucks.
be carfull with that stuff it will freeze you skin if it drips on it, just shoot it on the i/d of the adapter and you’ll be off and running
Where am I going to get that amount of butane or co2…I am willing to try anything.

dad- spray the adapter with some butane, that will freeze it and shrink it a down cupel of .000

I really do need some help big time now. The shroud is clipping terrible and I want to return it. The big problem is that this is a screw on shroud. The threaded insert that goes into the cylinder had to be tapped in with a rubber mallet. It is in there very tight and I cannot get it out. I have taken a block of wood and put up again the insert and banged the wood with a hammer and this thing will not budge. I have taken a strap wrench and this thing will not even rotate. Yes the grub screw has been remover.
I need some big time help getting this thing out. Help me … this Condor is really roaring load the way she is right now and totally unacceptable for any sort of shooting. The blast from the barrel is enough to knock a fellow over if standing to near.. Does anybody have any ideas…
I just want to set it up the way she was but I can do that unless I get this insert out of the way first…

Or there internal baffle rings in that shroud that could be clipping or is the endcap the only thing between it and barrel?
I have never checked the crown of the barrel to be honest with you..
I took the shroud off and shot the same 25 shot routine and I came up with a smaller group. Not that much though as I was sort of hurrying the shots a bit.
There is no rotating this shroud as the shroud screws into its own thread fitting that is set into the cylinder quite tight. I have tried to rotate the treaded insert and there is not turning it now that it is in place. The threaded insert had to be tapped in with a rubber mallet and I have no idea how to get it out now.. I had to be fitted tight since the shroud is threaded in. any ideas on how to loosen

Get one of those cans of air that you clean electronics like keyboards with. Turn it upside down and spray it.
