Q:

Just ordered my first Edgun…say hi to the newb.

Hello Everyone!!!

This is my first post, but I have been reading and enjoying your posts for the last week or so. I just ordered my first Edgun from Tony! I have a .25 R3M Long coming with the next shipment (Nov. that’s all he said). Tony is not the most talkative of fellows, is he? It took me 2 weeks to finally decide what I wanted. I have to say this site has helped me with my decision tremendously. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge with me. I haven’t seen a more loyal and proud family of members towards any other gun, as much as the Edgun….that is what swayed me over.

Well, now that the gun is ordered its time for a scope. Well here goes…. I want a scope with a 5-6 times zoom range that’s great in low light, not too heavy, not too long, parallax adjustments from 10 yards to infinity, great eye relief, great tracking, durable, good warranty, and under $1000 bucks. lol
Well…I really do…but its not gonna happen. I have however narrowed my selection down to 7. A couple are over my budget (as there always will be) and the rest are in range. Can this great forum help me in: #1 selecting the one best for me #2 Put the 7 selections in an order from best choice to worst choice (if there is a worst…they’re all quite good im sure).

Info about me: live in Houston Texas. Lots of places to go and shoot…including back yard, thick wooded areas near subdivisions, short drive to the north, south, east, and west with acres upon acres of undeveloped land. Some of it is open, some is wooded (nice to have friends with acres and acres of land). Lots of plinking, hunting birds, squirrels, rabbits, coons, bobcats, and coyotes, as well as target shooting (outdoors and not at a range). No point in shooting anything under 15 yards…very interested in acquiring the skills to shoot beyond 125 yards. Mostly 25-100 yards. Oh, and I do lots and lots of night shooting. So a good low light scope is B I G ! !

I look forward to all comments from anyone that has something to say…but im also looking for replies from Zocoloco, Knifemaker, Ted, and Oldgoat. Ted….you’re my hero! Mr. EdgunUSA himself…What?!? jk 😆

I will put something together…not sure how I will video the reticle clearly without a video mount, but I’ll try to put something together. I’m anxious to see how we’ll the parallax adjustments work, color rendering, low light clarity, everything.

We will need a full comparative report and review with reticle pictures or video. I have a .177 Compact Cricket in the planning stages now but I could always pop it on the 30 cal and switch a Delta to the CC. 😮

Hey Krill. George said that that scope is a 2 piece tube, but apparently they are not its not visible??? The tube isn’t all aluminum. It’s an aluminum alloy that has brass and steel…so it’s strong and durable. He has been selling Deltas since 2009 and the only repair he has had since then was micro dust particles visible in the reticle. That’s it. He also said that this was a popular scope among military shooting instructors and their results were excellent. He sells a complete line of other scopes and this is his favorite. Price was $912 delivered. It will be shipped on Monday and I should have it later that week. I’ll give it a good run through and report back.

Great! You’ll love the scope and the reticle. Once you get it you’ll see what i mean with the reticle. You have a free peripheral view around the reticle . And the middle dot is sooo tiny you can place it on a sparrows eye at 75 m and still see the eye itself around the dot. Good stuff for both BR and hunting.

Oh yea…that’s right. It’s NOT GOING ON THE BEEMAN. Looks like it’ll be a R7 Elite. Lol

Hope it is springer rated.

I’ve decided…if the R3M is not here by December in buying an R7. Won’t go to waste…I have kids. I’ll have a 30x on a Beeman spring gun. Yea!

Ok, it’s funny this with 1 or 2 piece tube. Well well either way it’s a nice scope and I’m curious to hear what you have to say about it when you have had a chance to test it. Hope the wait won’t be too long as for some and you remain sane 😉

Thank you all for saying hello and sharing your experiences with me…hopefully more to come. Chapter for the right scope is closed at the moment. I ordered the Delta Optical Titanium 4.5-30×50 MCZ II with a set of Zee Signatures and a US Optics can’t level. I’m going to be crushed if the Matador doesn’t come in within the next month. Any news on the November delivery?

Good luck with speedy delivery!
Out of curiosity, what did George at Astro Sweden say or has that been covered and I’m just blind. Early morning here if that’s an excuse.

👿

Ha! Can’t level….I got it. Funny guy….

And I can hit a pile o shit at 50 yards no problem!

I ordered it due to suggestions. I saw Ted use it on his gun in his videos too. If Mr Holdover has it…hey, I’m gettin it.

Loved the Story! 😀

and why did you order a Can Not Level? Unless it means can’t hit for shit without it! 😆
