I thought Ed had each individual gun tested and set up for a specific pellet, and it passed his test before being sent out?

Yeah, I look around on the Baracuda .22 cal line and found nothing that could do good with the gun. EDgun like the round nose.

This “H&N Baracuda .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains, Round Nose” or “H&N Baracuda Match, .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains, Round Nose,” pellet too heavy for Lelya.

This “H&N Field Target Trophy .22 Cal, 14.66 Grains, Round Nose” is a little light for Lelya, but it could work well Lelya. JSB 16 grain head size is 5.52mm, this H&N head size is 5.53mm. The H&N pellet seem to work great @ high velocity, not sure if anyone test it before.

“Beeman Field Target Special .22 Cal, 14.66 Grains, Domed” has a round nose shape, it maybe good with Lelya too?

How about these 2 pellets below?

Beeman FTS Copper Plated .22 Cal, 14.72 Grains, Domed

Beeman Field Target Special .22 Cal, 14.66 Grains, Domed

I have some spare “Beeman Kodiak Double Gold .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains, Round Nose”, I will try these to see how it goes, it’s too heavy for Lelya, I know, but I just want to try it out, who’s know it may perform good on Lelya ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

Ed,

Do you know exactly which Barracuda pellets they were talking about?

Unfortunatelly not ๐Ÿ™ and as far as I remember that was for .177 caliber, not for .22, people say that in .22 Baracuda is worse then JSB. But I am an expect, I know JSB very well and I build guns for these definiete pellets.

Ed,

You did not mention about the 18.1 grain pellet @ all, it’s OK, I just want to test it anyway ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

I am working on the 16 grain pellet now, I hope I could find a good sweet spot somehow on the high power ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

Beside the JSB 16 grain pellets, is there any other pellet that work well with Lelya? I want to try them if you knew.

Thanks Ed.

I used to try some different pellets and found that JSB are the best, but some people say that they had good results with Barracuda as well.

Didn’t I tell that heavy 18 grain JSB pellets are not flying well from Lelya?! Silly me! Sorry for that! I use only 16 grain pellets JSB for Lelya.

Hi Jeff,

The pellet probe o-ring for Matador/Lelya are look the same. I am going to order some spare now.

Thanks Jeff.

Hi Jeff,

I am not sure the the o-ring of the Leya the same size as Matador or not, but I will compare it at later time. I was shooting 1/3 day today, still not getting good group yet, even the string look extremely nice. I guess I have forced to shoot on high power, this is why I could not get good group ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

Hey Eddie,

The bolt action covered up with the sliding cover, in-order to access it, I had to remove the 2 pins that lock the bolt and cover all together.

I have done all the test by using the 18.1 grain, the best I could get is 3/4″ group @ 30 yards. I have tried most of the high velocity started from 800 FSP which max for the 18.1 grain, down to 750 FSP, still not get good group.

I am started to test the 15.9 grain pellet now, started from 830 FPS down to 770 FPS now, still don’t get good group yet and I am not done testing this pellet either. For any reason if I could not get group from this pellet, the next pellet will be the 14.3 grain.

I was hoping I could get gorup with the 18.1 grain pellet for this small gun, it’s hit really hard @ 800 FPS. Oh well.

I have ran through approximate 800-900 pellets through her already and drained 1 scuba tank 88 cu feet, starting on my second scuba tank 88 cu feet by using cascading, it’s kinda cool using cascading, first tank handle the low fill and second tank just topoff whatever left off from the first tank.

Later all.

Hoot,

Don’t your eyes get dry when you don’t blink?

Roachcreek

Slide action it is and a pretty neat one at that.

I noted this on the video of the Leyla and was surprised and noted how easily it seemed to work.

Ed does good things in different ways.

I wasn’t aware of this Leyla not having a bolt, at least not one I can see is it a slide action! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Hey Don, that shot string looks excellent…… If the orings are the same size
as the Matador .22 it will be 3mm X 1mm oring…. I get mine from McMaster
Carr….

Hi Ed,

I have replaced the o-rings by remove the 2 pins on the cover to access the cock.

I also emailed Tony about the o-ring, hope he get back to me soon. This small o-ring is hard to find, but will continue to look around to get some spare.

Thanks Ed.

Watch the video and you will find that there is no need to remove the case with the engrave from the cocking part, you can remove it altogether from the gun and have access to that part. As for O-rings, Tony should have some, if not I would recomend to find the way to buy them in States, that are things you should easily find anywhere.
