Leshiy – my thoughts & photos
Yeah! Arrived! The woodland goblin ‘Leshiy’ landed in my hands quite recently. I’m not able to tell you too many details right now, I’m still too excited. And I need to use it for a while…
I don’t have an extensive range of scopes to try on my Leshiy – so for now I can tell you, that my SWFA 1-4×24 with MilQuad reticle seems to be an awesome choice for general shooting. I’ll later try also Vortex Diamondback HP 2-8×32 (but the reticle is a bit on a thick side) and last week I ordered Hawke Airmax 2-7×32 (superb reticle!) so I should be busy playing with Hawke soon. So far SWFA works great.
I’ve tried two bipods, short Harris and some kind of cheap ebay bipod. Harris is superbly stabile, but the ebay one is more compact and lighter.
And last but not least (for today) – it can be carried inside virtually ANY backpack! It’s small enough to be carried in Tasmanian Tiger ‘Essential’ which is 6 (six!) liters pack. It’s very packable. Love it! Much more soon. Very soon!

Another compact scope option that may interest you is the Vector-Optics-Paragon-1-2-6×24.
IMO the glass is better than the SWFA..
The exact one you had on your Lelya. Should have kept that scope although I think the March 1-10×24 SFP one might be better simply due to the reticle choices. MML if you like Mils or MTR-3 for MOA.
SWFA has the SS HD 1-6×24. Reticle looks okay but it’s a grand. Not sure what the minimum parallax is. Primary Arms has a few 1-8×24 scopes. Reticle choices are not ideal for precision airguns needing a holdover reticle. The problem with big name AR type optics is either their reticle doesn’t fit an airgun or their parallax is fixed at 100 yards. The design of the scope tube/body does fit the Leshiy and Lelya nicely though. I think it would fit a mutant short just as nice. In the end, all roads leads to a March scope. If only they were more affordable.
March 1-10×26 with side focus and illuminated reticle? I guess that’s the one. Or 1-8×26, also cool but not much cheaper :/

The pics are awesome but once again it looks like scope choices are very limited. The SWFA looks good but 4x is on the low end. The Airmax may work but it doesn’t “look” like it belongs on the Leshiy. You need a scope with the objective bell the same size of the tube diameter with an 8x mag. Very limited choices out there with a usable airgun reticle and short parallax range unless you’re willing to shell out big bucks.
Don’t you wish they made the same scope but in a 1-6 and slightly shorter!

What could be better on an autumn sunny day than a walk with a Leshiy in a pack (PDW SHADO)?
Got mine from Best Fittings (UK) with micro-bore short hose and actually I quite like it. First of all I usually take it with my main bottle for filling and they pump it to 260-265 bar. They know such bottles in my place (big servising center for firefigthers’ stuff etc.) and they say it’s a very good and sturdy bottle and they never had a problem with them. It works great with Lelya, which is officially rated to 210 bar (easily 3 fills, the last one not 100% but still more than usable) and even better with Leshiy. On a shooting session the previous weekend I filled Leshiy 4 or 5 (?) times. Of course each next fill was less effective but even if filled just to 190 bar I had still ca. 20 shots and even more if I’d be just plinking for fun. So in case of Leshiy it gives additional 150 shots easily. Maybe more? I didn’t calculate it. it’s just my estimation. It was certainly more than enough for one afternoon, espesially for a single shot :rofl:
For bigger guns it’s not as effective. I tried it once with Matador and even the first fill was not at 100%, second was very low but still gave me a handful of shots. So not perfect BUT STILL I had additinally 100+ shots with me in the field. Now considering Cricket is 300 bar airgun… 250 bar buddy bottle can be dissapointing indeed. But anyhow it should give you ca. 100 shots at UK limit of 12 fpe (just my guess). For FAC I’d certainly search for 1.1 liter composite 300bar bottle, it’s harder to find but much better for Cricket.
And last but not least – after use in the field it needs to be filled again. So a big 300 bar bottle at home is a must! I’ve got 7L main bottle and I can fill it 4 maybe 5 times and later on my home tank should be topped. So sometimes, when I plan to shoot a lot during weekend, I actually take my 7L bottle. I treat my BB as a last resort backup when testing accuracy, etc. Otherwise I just prefer to take 2 PCPs (like a Leshy & Lelya) for some fun when walking around and later I can practice with one of my springers.
Pros:
– just enough for 1-day trip with Lelya / Leshiy (gives additionally ca. 150 shots @ 17J )
– very easy to carry around
– it’s slim so fits most backpacks (easily!)
– the valve is a joy to use
– reasonable price
Cons:
– not enough for the whole weekend (300+ pellets)
– takes a lot of air from base tank at home
– can be dissapointing for airguns with bigger tanks like Matador, Cricket, Taipan, etc
– not enough air for serious FAC or big caliber
I have to take a new picture, this one is quite old with my Lelya Gen.1 but should give an idea about size to people:
I would like to hear more about the 250 Bar buddy bottle. Take your time, I’m in no hurry but anything at all on the buddy bottle would be nice. I got one as well but was very dissapointed when “filling” my Cricket. But the Leshiy got such a small air chamger it must work a lot better.
I’m shooting @ 17J with 16 grain JSB, Vortex rangefinder and Strelok Pro software of course. So for real performance at beyond 50m you need to wait for mr. soze and his machine.
I got easily 50 shots, but my tank is well below 300 bar now so I need to fill it before shooting strings. For field use I also have 500 ccm buddy bottle (250 bar).
How many shots you getting at 16J/12ft lbs? That was your power setting right?
It looks great on your Leshiy and groups are tight. cannot wait to see her 50,75 and 100 yards.

Haha how did you know I don’t have that scope anymore? It was a good looking scope but FFP…and reticle was horrible also absolutely un usable thickness.
Sfp models might work better.
