Let’s talk a little bit about ST barrels
When Ted uploaded his MOA group at 100y some of his pellets were wobbling, and at least one was flat out spiraling. FRANK uploaded a video of his Impact shooting at 90 yards and a few of his pellets are spiraling/wobbling too.
How come? Is seems to be common in Smooth Twist barrels to spiral pellets, very discouraging.

What I have a hard time reconciling is when I look at 100 meter matches around the world I do not see as many FX guns in the winner’s column like seen at the AoA EBR. I wonder why?

Yeah HSNMZ most of have seen his stuff, and I like a lot of it pretty scientific approach, but its not conclusive, maybe the FX barrel don’t like to be tighten down in a vise, hench artillery hold may produce better groups. We’ve got to spend that time learning our guns to get the most out of them.

So can someone give a summary of the results in those videos? Was the Impact accuracy best with a ST, CZ or LW?
It is still worth watching. I can’t understand him either but we can still see the results.

You can replace the ST with a LW barrel
Sounds good to me. I have to admit, there is something very attractive about that carbon fiber bottle and front cocking lever. I’m not a fan of the mag, looks like a pain to reload and could damage pellets unlike the cylinder style of the Cricket and mutant. Also not a fan of the barrel thumbscrew. But it’s all about compromise i suppose. I just wish they would offer a version with LW barrels like in the good old days, I’d pay extra for that!
Hey Cricket, that all sounds really good with the exception that its not correct: The EBR is not setup for mostly 25’s and 30’s its been the same setup for the last 3 years for the most part, i would agree that the majority of shooters there had 25’s and 30’s because a lot of shooters have switched to the bigger caliber’s over the last year. When i got into the sport it was all 177 and 22, and now 3 years later all i hear about is 25 and 30’s. There was a good showing of .22’s there thought, and i believe this was the first year they had a dedicated big bore shoot out. As for the Hawke FX thing, yeah most people probably got hooked because of Ted’s youtube, but best believe most shooters watched numerous videos from all sorts of shooters and read quite a few forums before picking up there first gun. And if it where all TED then there would be more EDgun’s out there (not that its not a fantastic gun because i’m sure it is). I knew about sidewinder and FX guns but I have SWFA scopes and a Cricket and a Vulcan. TED didn’t start the EBR so i believe he had little influence on what guns show up there. I don’t know, i think reguardless of of rifle length 1 MOA is 1 MOA and if you can do that with you Bull pup at 75 and 100 yards then you would be a contender at the meet (not you persay). And since a humane hunter knows that the kill zone is about 1 MOA and that’s why we strive for a bullpup has just a good a chance as anything else (the impact and wildcat are consider a pup and there were 8 of them in the top 10). Lastly yes some FX barrels have been reported as jacked up, but so has some Cricket barrels (just check out Freeman’s video and other complaints even on this forum) it just happens. No fame need to get a great or shitty barrel my brother its just life. Happy hunting. Oh and this post right here stated some stated ST barrels suck, not that they where prone to more jacked up barrels.
The Mutant isn’t exactly a bench gun and only available in lower calibers. EBR is mostly .25 and .30
Also a lot of people go for the stuff being used in EBR competitions, so naturally there is an overrepresentation of Ted’s and co’s gun. Same with Hawke, would not be half as popular if it was not for Ted promoting it and all the noobs following and saying it was the best because they’ve never looked through anything else.
A short light Vulcan will be harder to shoot than a big heavy laminate stocked RAW. And also if you read forums you will have realized that it is not neccesarily the concept of the ST we dislike, it’s the fact that so many people get piss poor barrels when buying $1800 guns. This gamble, this chance/risk should be nonexistent. You should not have to be a popular youtuber or Lucky to get a barrel that shoots properly. Fortunately there is warranty and some people recieve replecement barrels or they “accurize” your barrel.

I think Ted did his home work finding out what’s work best for him and his Impact, also I think isn’t just the gun, the competitor has to do his part too, Tim from Mac1 didn’t win this time with his tricked out .30cal USFT, I also know 2 guys used their Tomas rifles and they didn’t win either and those rifles really shoot.
I love all my guns and I really like my Impact, the smoothest gun I’ve ever owned.
