Q:

Mach 1+ f.p.s. Condor Groups, I won’t be called a liar :)

quote pablouk:

You are getting Kodiaks to shoot well at 1200 fps? 😕 😯 😕 😯
😕 😯 😕 😯

Well, see for yourself. 😎

Now, these aren’t the Kodiak’s, these are the JSB 18.1 Exacts. I shot the rest of my kodiaks at a tree to get rid of them, These Exacts have replaced the Kodes For Ever. Cleaned the barrel, oiled the pellets and sighted in (almost dead on) by shooting off hand at two birds. First bird, head shot but was aiming at center body mass. Second Bird, hit barely to the right, adjusted for this, and the gun was for the most part sighted in. Kodes have NEVER shot that nice out of my gun.

I received a nasty email, I guess from a member here, no name, openly stating that what I had previously said I was capable of is a lie. Well, here are my First Groups Ever with the JSB’s, I love my Condor 😀

BTW, all of these groups are shot at 1,215 f.p.s. average. (Chrony’ed it)

Yes, this is an Offhand group. As I said in a previous thread, I have been sharpshooting for years, and for an airgun shooting pell’s over Mach 1, I’d like to think this is a damn good group. (looks Like I shot Washington’s head, then neck off 😈 )

This isn’t my best, but this is in a 23 MPH crosswind, after dark with the target paper lit by a flashlight on a stand, and yes, at 40 yards 😎

pablouk : That’s pretty much been the same here, and as benneeb0y said .24 caliber or larger for Airgun Big Game hunting. IMHO seemed I read somewhere that a 1000 foot pounds knock down power minimum at 100 yards to deer hunt with was also required (in Virginia).

So that’s why .22 cals are not allowed. I know the 60 and 70 grain target bullets would exceed that, but you and I know everyone won’t use ’em.

Need to do some research on foot pounds required to Airgun hunt Big Game ( in Virginia). I personally don’t like the idea wounding or the tracking of wounded Big Game! Big Bore Airguns are more suited to Big game hunting, I think?

Sam 😆

Not starting an argument either, but does a Mach pellet kill a 40 yard Squirrel deader than a 900fps pellet, no! But it is more accurate and saves air for more shots, versus the wasted air needed mach speed.

G. F-ing D. Large game, Large Game, LARGE GAME.
Squirrels are just, umm, By-products of the local foliage.

Are you the troll that WalkonKing was talking about?

LARGE GAME! Squirrels are NOT my primary target, LARGE GAME is! I don’t need to shoot a penny at 100 yards to kill LARGE F-ING GAME! I was reading your post (different thread) about canting scopes for 3 yards, when the o.p. said his zero was 30 yards, ya’ can’t really do that very efficiently, now can you? Do you make trollish comments on everyone’s threads?

LARGE FREAKING GAME!!!!
“Leave usss alone, preciousss, yesss. Should leave usss alone!”

Never doubted anything you put here, you shoot better off handed than i do with a rest, But I’m 59 and shakey LOLOL. Good shooting. I know the gun will do it. Just has to be preped right.

quote 07condor22:

Thanks Roachcreek: Virginia doesn’t allow .22 Air/rim or centerfire ie .223/22-250, my bad 😳 Wished I could use my .223, but I try to keep things legal.

Sam 😎

Yeah fucking VA. Last year .223 was allowed. It’s up to .24 cal and larger now. But they allow for air rifles 😈 Shit I just wish they would let us hunt on Sunday! However I have taken a few love seats and they went down just fine at 900fps lol sorry 00. All in fun!

Sam, here in the UK you need .243 or above to take large deer by law.

Sam,

With the exception of a 22 centerfire, ie., 223 – 22-250 et al, at least here in Oregon, but yeah not with rimmers of airguns in 22.

Although some have been known to do it on the sly 😎 .

Roachcreek

Thanks pablouk, I just don’t believe this guy can do it! Fact is it’s Unlawful to hunt big game with a, any .22 caliber gun here in the U.S.!

Sam 😆

In fairness Sam, you can take big-ish deer with a .22 at 30fpe+
I haven’t, but I know of someone here in the UK that does so on a regular basis. He makes good money from it.
Just behind and above the eye is a real soft spot. He does them from about 30 yrds.

No, I’m not a troll and if you read about canting a scope for 3 yards, it was a type O on my part. Seems you can’t read. either! This is what the post actually said “If you want a 6 yard zero, get a canted scope mount. Mac1 can make Canted / drooping scope rings. Link for Droopers : http://www.mac1airgun.com/droopers.html …. Notice the “IF” in my statement.

GO FUCK YOUrSELF. Exactly what large game are you planning to Kill with an .22 air rife. That sounds pretty stupid to me?

Sam 😈

Sorry Noob, I guess I read your post, followed by Rj’s post saying he didn’t know why I was acting like that and I put 2 and 2 together and got 5 😳 😆

For bigger game at 40- 60 yrds that accuracy is fine (as you know) It just most of us here are real fussy snipers and get a little cranky if we don’t put pellet on pellet at 60+ yrds.

Rj, stop causing trouble ya big hick…. 😆

100 yard shooting would justify all this power and would be more challenging, for mach speed pellets!

Well, See, you’re exceeding the design limits of air rifle pellets, Excess speed and Accuracy does not go hand in hand with air rifle pellets.

I am POWERSHOOTING MAN, like I said in a previous thread.

… *sigh*

I’m not trying to be rude it’s just, like I said, I hunt Large game. That 40 yard mach 1 group is More than pinpoint enough for anything I shoot.

Even squirrels, because they’re usually close anyway.

Hold the fuckity fuck up guys !!!!!!!! 😯 😯 😯

I certainly did not send any PM calling anyone a liar!! WTF 😆

Nor did I even suggest that I doubted 00, I just posted my surprise!!

Now, as it happens, the 40 yrd group is nowhere near as tight as it could be. If you shot slower then 40 yrds should be coverable by a penny.

Goodness, Pablouk! 😯 I certainly never accused You of sending that email, not pm, and I didn’t think for a minute you did! I simply used that quote of yours because it fit nicely in with the topic of discussion.
Do not you worry! You’re all good. 😀

I am POWERSHOOTING MAN, like I said in a previous thread. 950 f.p.s. doesn’t cut it with me. If you look very closely at the top of the picture (that I’m re-posting) you will see the bulls-eye has been taken out by five shots in a group about half the size of a penny. That IS in the same conditions at the same range, just after about 20 shots and the pellets have slowed down considerably. I know how well pellets group below 1,000 f.p.s., but I don’t like the ballistics at all below mach 1, that’s all.

See, take a look at the group at the very top of the page, 40 yards, 23 mph crosswind, after dark lit by flashlight and somewhere around 1,000 feet per second.
