Q:

Mach 1+ f.p.s. Condor Groups, I won’t be called a liar :)

quote pablouk:

You are getting Kodiaks to shoot well at 1200 fps? 😕 😯 😕 😯
😕 😯 😕 😯

Well, see for yourself. 😎

Now, these aren’t the Kodiak’s, these are the JSB 18.1 Exacts. I shot the rest of my kodiaks at a tree to get rid of them, These Exacts have replaced the Kodes For Ever. Cleaned the barrel, oiled the pellets and sighted in (almost dead on) by shooting off hand at two birds. First bird, head shot but was aiming at center body mass. Second Bird, hit barely to the right, adjusted for this, and the gun was for the most part sighted in. Kodes have NEVER shot that nice out of my gun.

I received a nasty email, I guess from a member here, no name, openly stating that what I had previously said I was capable of is a lie. Well, here are my First Groups Ever with the JSB’s, I love my Condor 😀

BTW, all of these groups are shot at 1,215 f.p.s. average. (Chrony’ed it)

Yes, this is an Offhand group. As I said in a previous thread, I have been sharpshooting for years, and for an airgun shooting pell’s over Mach 1, I’d like to think this is a damn good group. (looks Like I shot Washington’s head, then neck off 😈 )

This isn’t my best, but this is in a 23 MPH crosswind, after dark with the target paper lit by a flashlight on a stand, and yes, at 40 yards 😎

Well, I see you don’t really have a clue? Air will not propel a pellet to 1500 fps or above.

I know for pity’s sake I shouldn’t keep it going, but just for the record,

http://www.airgunsbbguns.com/Benjamin_Sheridan_Super_Streak_Nickel_Finish_p/bjnb1122btmn.htm

I know it’s not a .22, I’m just showing that AIR can push a pellet to 1,500 fps. Believe it or not, I do know what I’m talking about half the time. 😎

Sam,

I’ve been shooting them for quite some time and have never seen them in packs. Usually when the weekly, sickly famished, dog shows up attacking our chickens I then set out the bait and wait in a short tree not to far from the farm yard. A .308 sounds nice and I have once fired a 9mm airgun, but I just believed that it was too much for my taste, I mostly enjoy the challenge of the smaller calibers.

Hey 00Noob, I had the same pipe dream and it’s been discussed here and on the Yellow Forum. (You should check out the Yellow Forum) http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/ Conclusion : A sabot bullet would maybe do what you want, but is only available in .308/.224 bullet.

This was a .308 caliber Condor and you’ll have to find the post, for yourself. Still it won’t reach the unobtainium velocities you’re dreaming. But it would make a good Feral dog killer. O by the way, if you plan on attacking a pack of Feral dogs “Good Luck”, They bite back. Carry a backup large caliber hand gun.

Sam 😯

21 in 16 days 😉

I didn’t think so, and I can’t remember where though I have read many a tale of custom rifles shooting at those velocities. Granted, they were not Factory produced, they are hand made, but still it would be interesting to see if a LW barrel bored to .223 could shoot 40 grain bullets at reasonable speeds and with consistent accuracy. It’s just simply that I like these guns, but not necessarily the ammunition that they fire. I am very much used the characteristics and trajectories, and so forth, of the powder burning rifles I’ve shot all my life to want some of that in an airgun. Granted at close range the variances are only slight, but they are still noticeable after all this time shooting my Condor.

Jonas

1500 fps with a heavy pellet? I have not done it or seen it done.

The thing is when you push a pellet gun toward that power the gun is so loud a firearm might as well be used.

But I do know a Condor shooting EuJins and Kodiaks can kill everything you listed 🙄

Shoot behind the eye and in the ear and everything dies

Telling us you killed 1500lb grizzlies will be about as believable as you getting the thing to shoot at 1500fps accurately. 😉

Ok. I’m young, one of the younger on the forum. But being young, and for at least a little longer still living with younger siblings, I can pick up on certain things. So here’s my question, and I want you to answer honestly. And answer honestly, we have a few psychologists here that will immediately know if you are lying.

How old are you?

Well, I see you don’t really have a clue? Air will not propel a pellet to 1500 fps or above. Maybe a bullet and I don’t think that’s possible with Air, either. That’s why we use gun powder.

If you do manage to get a pellet that fast you won’t be able to hit jack shit.

BTW what do i know i shoot fishing sinkers from my gun

I have been meaning to ask about this. What grain? Caliber? Are they store bought sinkers, or do you melt them down? How many F.P.S.? That actually sounds like something I would be interested in checking out. ❗

quote 07condor22:

GO FUCK YOUrSELF. Exactly what large game are you planning to Kill with an .22 air rife. That sounds pretty stupid to me?

“pretty stupid to me? *?* …? Are you asking a question?

Why would I do that when Sally Palm and her five friends are already good at that kinda stuff? 😆

quote Mr-lama:

And what is “large game” for you? Because to me large starts with deer. And I know plenty people do, but I would be careful hunting them with that airgun.

Large game consists of Coyotes, small deer (If destroying the crops) and we have a huge problem with feral cats, and most importantly, large and Agressive dogs. Pitbulls, Dobermans, Choys, Rotties you name it. We live in the area with the most dog-warden recorded drop-offs in the south west portion of the state.

Now of course this is large game for the air-rifle, not the 30.06.

Is this answer sufficient, or shall I fabricate elaborate tales of taking 1,500 lb Grizzlies with my .22 Condor to satisfy your internet egos? 😈

I gotta say, I didn’t expect people so dick-stamping demanding on this forum. I want to hear more from WalkonKing as well, I respect his opinion, and Pab, You’re not so bad yourself 😎

WalkonKing, or who ever may have attempted this, If go with a .25 LW Barrel, and 40 grain pellets, is there any way to be shooting at or past 1,500 f.p.s. with a modified Condor? That would be awesome. 😮

Jonas

BTW what do i know i shoot fishing sinkers from my gun

HEY PAB u know im just messin with ya Y would i be rude to u u have always stood behind me on my post BUT speed shooting is good at 50yds or less at a hundred yds hang it up if u look at the pics this guy posted u can see at 20yds its good but at 40 they open up a bit yall know i do the same thing and can check my post on my speed shooting here in SC we can shoot deer with a .25cal arigun legaly our law states it has to be larger than a 22cal no listing on how it is propelled so i called the state DNR and confermed it

Deer burger in the iron skillet and biscuits in the oven. I’ll enjoy supper tonight, thanks to my Hunting buddies 😛

Sam 😆

Why I outta…… 👿 😆

Well this is a stupid thread. 😛

Noob, I don’t think anyone is doubting your abilities. We are simply saying supersonic doesn’t work as well. I consider myself a fair shot, but I never got great groups going supersonic. It doesn’t matter how good a shot your are if the gun won’t do it. But if yours will, then go for it.

And what is “large game” for you? Because to me large starts with deer. And I know plenty people do, but I would be careful hunting them with that airgun.

Faster doesn’t always mean more lethal either. Nothing has ever knocked a squirrel (I know, not big game, but complain and I’ll come through the computer and kick you in the shin) down faster than my old condor shooting eun jins at about 800fps. When fast the pellets just zipped right through and they could run. But at 800fps, it would stop inside of them and they would fall out of the tree dead. Faster isn’t always better.

I’m still curious what you are hunting that you thought a small-bore airgun would be best for, but it has to be cranked up on power to work? If you are a powershooting man, go get a big powderburner. Way more power than a little airgun. Also, I haven’t read the other thread you have, but I assume you are measuring speeds with a chronograph, yes?

P.S. Pab sucks. 😆 😉

I really don’t like the idea of shooting something, then having to track its poor wounded ass across country. BUT- If it was food for the table, I’d beat it to a slow death with my cock if need be.
