More Edgun Yellow agenda

My Edgun, USFT’s and Cricket are 177. I am beginning to believe that better accuracy is possible with the 22 & 25 caliber pellets.
Steyrs are great but very overpriced IMHO ($3500 for a 12fpe FT rifle), i’ve seen far too many competition rifles that need serious help to be accurate and consistent if they are shooting in the 20FPE Open Class in FT. Most people who use them to shoot the 12FPE class send them to people like Jon Harris to get properly tuned so they can win. Personally i’d rather buy a rifle for a thousand or so less that is close to as accurate and shoot it (i’ve been winning with it too).
So far the Cricket is the least accurate rifle I have in my collection… 😕 Boy that sounds bad, but it’s true. 😐
I shoot the same pellets out of both and shoot indoor test groups at 10-50 yards.
At some point here i’ll make a USFT/Edgun/Cricket group testing post. I have a friend with two accurate Steyrs and will have him bring them to the indoor test range as well, I am interested to see their true accuracy potential.
I think the shroud on the Cricket is the reason why the groups are subpar. When it goes on it’s not perfectly concentric and at it’s tight point the gap between the barrel and the shroud is tapering… I also found that I got different poi’s with each magazine, which kind of negates any advantage a multishot has over a single shot, made a single shot tray so I could reduce the inaccuracy variables.
May have to personally test that “superb” Cricket customer service claim here soon. 😆
This forum isn’t partial to Edguns, if it was posts would be edited or deleted that didn’t fit the predetermined path of the forum operators, no such thing occurs. If you have ANY issues with ANY product you can speak your mind, the other members may have a say regarding your objectivity/subjectivity/clarity/sexual preference/sanity/whatever, but you are still free to voice your complaint (or praise) without it being edited or deleted.
That is just about as impartial as a forum can get considering the alternative. 😉
The truth is there are far more posts about how Edguns rock than about how much they suck and this is because on the whole the Edgun experience is good more than it is bad.
Additionally my Edgun shoots far better than my Cricket (0.25″ better on average for ctc measured 10 shot groups at 50 yards indoors). I could give a load of horsehit that the parts are easier to come by for the Cricket, ot that I can get it by Saturday if I order it Monday, i’m looking for an accurate rifle first and foremost, the Edgun simply delivers. So what if you have to wait, in the scope of life what is six months, i’d wait a year for a rifle if it shot better than my Edgun and have waited longer.
Weird. Most have experienced no difference in accuracy or that the EdGun gets outshot by the Cricket. I had two (2) EdGuns and my Cricket shoots better than either of them.
And there is a rifle that will outshoot your EG anyday, anywhere as it will outshoot the Cricket: A Steyr, as an example. No waiting time whatsoever ! 😉

I can’t say definitively that either is more accurate than the other as I’ve only owned 1 EdGun but can say my .25 Cricket compared to my R3 .25 produced groups if I had to give a average of about 1/8″ smaller, but both were/are VERY accurate. As for Steyr, I’ve never had the pleasure of shooting one but have seen some unbelievable groups posted.
Steyr is one helluva airgun, no question. What it lacks in comparison to EG/Bug is power so i´d say 75 yards being the limit for a .22 cal Steyr and unfortunately they don´t make .25 cal version. Yet … The day they do i´ll buy one without blinking.
As for the neverending battle between EG/Cricket afficionados over which one is the most accurate there´ll never be an surewire answer to that. They both shoot very, very accurate and one particular EG may/will outshoot one particular Cricket and the other way around for next pair of guns.
For my part i just think it´s fun when everyone arques for their favorite of the day. There really isn´t any better answer to the question “which one should i buy” than ; Get them both, stupid !
Nobody else comes close and it ain’t gonna happen any time soon!
My Dear Brother Tedd,
i totally agree with you, Edgun Regulators are SUPERED, they will hit almost all the other brands, mine .22cal Long version matador gave me 50 shots with ((average)) 1001pfs, with JSB 18.13gr, 220 bar drop down to 140 bar .. :8: :8:
90 shots with Average 930fps, JSB 18.13gr , 220 bar to 120 bar :8: :8:
my last string, was surprised me,,, 15 bars for 15 shots with average of 950 fps…. 1 bar for 1 shot .. WoW… that is called Edgun Matador High efficient REGULATORS …
A question to Mr Eduard or PCP experts; if the Edgun Regulators set for high pressure 300 bar and make them work from 300 bar to 100 or 110 bar properly, my question is; how many regular shots can be gotten? how many shots Matador Long version can provide with 388cc? or other versions … ???
i am not saying that Cricket is a bad or best or whatever ,,,, or Edgun is the beast or …. bla bla … bla …just a question and the answer just maybe estimations or guesses,,, thanks..

The most interesting thing is that Steve used to say that I am not allowed to post anything to yellow as I am a manufacturer and my post is a kind of adv. but he said I would have chance to answer to the post if people will need my comments on something. Now I have no pissibility to write to yellow at all. Steve is a very solid man, his words is a hard as rock, the only problem is that he is the owner of his words, once he wants to give it, the other day to withdraw it back 🙂
I don’t own one, and can’t say a word about them. But what the hell is going on over at the yellow? If someone post somthing good about them, friggn steve deleats it. What the hell is wrong with that guy? I Mean, is the guy’s dick so small that he has to go around waveing it at every one just to make himself feel a little bigger?
I keep hearing he’s a “little prick”, so I guess so. 😆

Hey guys: being the Edgun Kol Aid drinker that I am; I posted this on the Yellow forum at 1:17 AM, I wonder how long it will last:
If it gets SOMEHOW deleted, I posted this:
I have owned 6 Matadors and I have had to replace some probe O rings and 2 broken air valve rods on my 25 cal R2.5 long Matadors. The air valve rods only lasted around 15,000 shots before breaking. A new air valve rods costs $35 with shipping from the importer and he has always had O rings and the air valve rods in stock when I needed them.
How long would it take for the average air gun owner here to shoot 15,000 shots through an air gun? 1-2-3 years?
I shoot a lot. 15,000 pellets in 6 months is nothing! I need to get JSB for a sponsor!
I am not aware of Ed setting a warrantee limit on his guns; AFAIK his air guns are warranted for life. Yes, the O rings and air valve rods are considered parts that will wear out and need to be replaced as needed. I think that any other manufacture would have the same policy. If something major went wrong with my Matador, I am absolutely certain that Ed would stand behind it no matter how old the Matador was!
A couple of my Matadors came set up shooting in the 935-950 fps range and I had to turn the regulator down and adjust the hammer spring tension to get them to shoot in the 885 fps range that I prefer.
Over 2 years ago, I recorded and posted a Matador video that showed how to tear them down, tune the gun and reassemble it. The Edgun was designed to be taken apart by the owner using simple hand tools, adjusted or repaired and reassembled.
I can change out any part on the Matador or do a regulator adjustment in less than 20 minutes.
A couple of weeks ago, I got my 30 cal R3 long in. It gave me 36 regulated shots at 948 fps shooting the 44.6 grain JSB pellets. I have turned the regulator down some and I want to see if it is now shooting the JSBs at my wanted speed of 885 fps. If it is there, my shot count should be over 40 regulated shots at 885 fps.
I currently am unaware of any 30 cal air gun that can give at least 36 regulated much less 40 regulated shots at 885 fps with a 388 cc air tube.
Nobody else comes close and it ain’t gonna happen any time soon!
You admitted you have not had an Edgun on another thread.
Yep, exposed as a shit stirrer and now you split.
But you’ll be back, bitching once again about something you’ve never actually experienced yourself. 🙄
Valves are not a problem. Yes, I think that if you will make the preliminary order to Tony I will send him the nessesary numbers of valves or some other parts.
I totally agree to your second point : The EG is very, very easy to both tune and repair – even for a newbie. Detailed Video´s with do´s and dont´s is the best way to make any neophyte to both gather the courage to dive into one and to lear to work on his Gun. Definitely.
That would also be the first time, to my knowledge , that any manufacturer offers such ” virtual repair manual” to the masses.
As is, the best “manual” for any EG owner is this very Forum.
No problem for Europe as well. I can send parts to Europe from Russia. As for video, to me everything is clear and understandable but I am not sure what is the trouble for users 😉 So I wuld appretiate if y ou will give me the list of what I have to make video about.
Give me the themes of video 😉
I was looking for a replacement to my cracked r2.5 std stock (older grey version), but didnt hear back from Tony. It was immediately prior to the .30s coming in, so he may have missed it.
Stocks are available, order it to Tony, I plan to make a new delivery of guns to him in February.
My matador r3 is as loud as a regular .22 firearm…I was shooting it yesterday and had my neighbor come
Out and asked what I was shooting cause I scared the hell out of him….so YES THE EDGUN needs a better shroud and nc offers a solution for that…
Now my Cricket out the box is as quiet as a mouse but I added a NC stripper to it and now it’s just hammer slap…which won’t bring out my neighbor.
Just be sure you have not overcunsuption of air. Reduce the hammer spring tension to get speed about 200 m/sec, then raise it slowly to get the first peak of speed (280 m/sec with JSB King for standard and 290 for long). Then try it.
Ed
lol 😆 thats telling him.. I love this forum.. :8:
Thats what i THought. Its common Knowledge its been brought up here in the past. Ive moved on from that. 2nd of all who the fuck u think u are? u don’t know me or what i know or what i have… so go fuck your self. Im done with this thread.
You were talking shit about the lack of customer service and how the fuck would you know anything about it if you NEVER owned one? From your friends? From reading on the internet? Does that straighten out the bunch in your panties or do you need to swing by the pharmacy to pick up some tampons?
I won’t be coming back to this thread to read any more of your EdGun expertise. Buy one and then we will talk.
Seems we both agree . You still haven’t shown me where i was talking shit about the EDGUNS? POST UP OR STFU

That sure sounds like a shroud issue ! I had that same exact issue with my EdGun and Dr. Evil has fought that battle with his although i think he´s close to winning now. He has machined his own parts and remachined existing EG parts and now finally he´s close to get it right. The problem was that some shroud and muffler parts were excentric and some parts that were supposed to be round were oval – not much but even a little here and some there will make everything out of alignment and you get clipping. Jetboy here has the same problem with his gun – or actually i think it was two guns he had that problem with.
If your Cricket is indeed clipping or some parts are out of true or excentric try to fix that – or, better yet FIX it – or you´ll never know what could´ve been .. It´s a shame yours is a .22 standard or i´d have send my OEM shroud so you could test it. That one is faultless and thankfully so is my CF shroud too.
BTW – i don´t know how the KalibrGun CS is in USA but over here it´s very good and very fast. Superb ! 😯
