Thanks Ed!

The big thing is valve stems which break with lots of shots. We were putting together a group order of about 30 valve stems. .22, .25, and .30. to send to Tony. Is that ok? Each of us want a few of them on hand if possible.

quote Ed:

Tony has some nessesary parts as valves, regulators etc. Maybe that is my mistake that I keep him with the level of spare parts which were enough for a year ago time but not enough for now. Will send more 🙂 Besides some parts I can send now directly from Russia, that will be a little faster.

As for making the special person to repair the guns, I used to explain that I made Matador as simple as possible even for those who has never had any experience with it to be able to make the small repair or tuning. I think the best way would be to make more detailed video about different issues which are quite simple to make by owner for few minuts then to send to service and wait weeks. So, offer me the themes I have to show on video 🙂

YUP …. and tonys one word frivolous emails don’t help either. IF those things would change i would be all over the edgun. thats the only thing that has stopped me. There is something about them and i feel my self getting pulled in. I still may get one someday I guess I’m just Gluten

Let me ask this ED. Have u given any thought to possibly seeking out a dedicated EDGUN Technician in the states to deal with any warranty issues that the average JOE cannot attend to them selves? that way it would minimize issues and snuff them out without the issue getting worse by operator error (lets face it not all of us have a nack for working on these things)

That would be the only thing needed to make me an owner of one again ; Steady and fast supply of spare parts. I like the Cricket but i liked my both EdGuns too, minus the aforementioned fact. I can work on my guns so i need no one to do it for me but in order to be able to do any work and to replace broken/faulty parts i need those damned parts – not in three to four months, but NOW. Right now.
I understand that a manufacturer runs out of some parts every now and then but it shouldn´t take months to get the shelves filled again and keep the flow going.
When that part of the brand EdGun is fixed i´ll gladly buy one in .25 SS again.
Until then i´ll be shooting my Bug that i get parts, if needed – any part – within a couple of days.

Yes but here anyone is free to voice their opinion. Not so on Yellow. That is a huge difference.

+1….Speaking of which….I am getting it from Neil…wtf? If you dare mention what he sells on the yellow you get banned…why is he defending the yellow?

I saw that…wasn’t gonna chime in but I saw the thread direction going towards customer service….So I had to say something about Steve removing the thumbs up posting a week or so ago about how Tony sending out replacement screws post haste and a few other shared similar experiences. Anyway…I’m not partial to any manufacturer…I want one of each. Dman has a point…this forum here is partial to Ed’s as the Yellow is partial to FX’s but at least here the partiality doesn’t come from 1 guy…its several guys whom have had experience with several airguns, I rarely see the admin here take part in these discussions, that is at least in this section of TAG, I rarely visit other sections of this forum so I can’t be for certain. On the Yellow Steve is quick to extinguish any praise going towards any people not sponsoring the forum. If he got with it he could host the forum on a better server(forum foundry) and get sponsors from ads like all the others do.

I was thinking the same thing. Why not set up a reputable dealer with a stock of parts and train him/her to be an authorized repair agent?

Like many others, I am not a gun smith and have not ambition to be one.

Personally, I don’t see the value in constantly bashing a gun or mfg. It is bad for the hobby. I had the misfortune of owning a Gamo for a brief period. That’s all I will say about it.

I wanted a Matador back when it was nearly impossible to get one. I got tired of the aggravation and gave up. I then went through a few other guns before ordering a .22 Cricket. I have never modified it, cleaned the barrel, or had the first quality issue. It is more capable than me.

I am now saving for a .25. It will either be another Cricket or a used Matador. I am hesitant to buy a new Edgun due to the price, but won’t think twice about buying a used one that has been owned by a trusted fellow forum member. I think the quality and capabilities that have been demonstrated by several reputable shooters far outweighs the risk of a random problem.

Just my thoughts.

Tony wrote me about it, I told him just to change the regulator in case the problem is in it. I don’t consider it as a “everything goes bad!”, that is just an metal and plastic, it can work properly or can be brocken, space shuttle with billions of budget are not perfect, nobody cry about it, just replace the brocken detail and go on working. Tony has regulators for exchange.

I would be willing to bet that if some people had it there way it would be just like that here with the EDGUN. Just like at the yellow they don’t tolerate people bashing FX. well here it is the sacred EDGUN. anyone that tries to bash or talk down about the edgun here is shunned away.

Here the mods let it go and let the people of the forum police there own so it goes a bit different. also ed has no financial back on the forums. Over there on the yellow you got sheriff steve. FX is a site sponsor and of course naturally they wouldn’t want to fund a place that talks bad about there product. so if it happens steve has to deal with it as seen fit. or risk loosing the sponsorship.

And it is not just FX over there i have seen it with other sponsors too.

How would it go if someone came in here bashing Talon Tunes?

First off we don’t know what the issue is. Could be simple HST adjustment.
OP claims to have had an Edgun prior. Now he has another. He should know how these guns operate when new.
Secondly yellow has long history of Edgun bashing especially by forum owner.
His comments prove its always open season. You’ll never see FX talked about in such a manner.

Why is it pathetic ?

He spent a lot of money for a gun with issues.
