Q:

Mrodair Compressor Guinea Pig

Hello, a newbie to PCP’s here.
I put in a pre-order for the upcoming Mrodair “Airmax” compressor
Thus, far just an automated acknowledgment receipt from Yahoo and haven’t heard anything more re ETA.

Yep, guinea pig ordering a new product. Hopefully it works out.

Teardown of high pressure cylinder video is up

Same here. I still figure it will be a miracle to see it before January. Still has to clear customs, ship across to AK, get upgraded, shipped back to customer.

Ordered up a Great White and air filter from Joe Brancato to go with the compressor. He agrees we are on the bleeding edge. This will be interesting. Can a Chinese compressor not be junk? We will find out and report here.

No I haven’t just made final payment yesterday.

Any updates?

I asked Michael Esch if he could update on an ETA.

…We sent the order along with the funds to china, just before we made the post.
As usual, there were a couple of small issues with the sample we received and they have now been addressed.
Our new compressor shipment is scheduled to leave china this Tuesday.
As soon as it reaches the US port, we will email all who placed their deposits.
Transit time is usually just a couple of weeks to the US port….

Now at least I have a sense of progress and time frame. I’m thinking January is possible with December being a miracle

It is suppose to have a two part water system… that includes a true Molecular Sieve and water separator.

I have been thinking on getting one from Mrodair. Michael has been pretty helpful when I have purchased through him and he has always put customers first compare to some other dealers you may or may of not dwelt with.

I was thinking of converting the compressor back to 220 I don’t ever plan transporting it and I have access to 220 in my garage but not sure about if wiring back to 220 is a good plan or not. Waiting on Mrodair to respond to me on that. Unless some compressor/electrician guru says na or ya on converting it.

Who knows? I don’t think it is a dealer that communicates actual ship date well.

All we know is 20 days lead + time to upgrade + shipment time to customers. That’s probably two months just there.
Mrodair gave no indication of when those 20 days will begin. That makes it an indefinite wait followed by up to two more months.

Basically, not something to be in a hurry about because they could be waiting for an entire 100 pre-orders before their
shipment from China is ordered.

I’d love it to be sooner and will be first to report if any word comes out regarding actual ETA’s.

You can count on me writing a detailed write up of the experience and machine when it does arrive.

Meanwhile my backup plan isn’t quite working out. My wife hasn’t been entirely effective on the Hill pump. 😆

Any update on when they will ship?

IIRC it is 115 v, but with that amperage draw, it’s still something that should be on its own circuit.

The “dryer” they are adding seems to be just a water separator, not an absorber.
I think I’ll have to budget in a Brancato desiccator/filter as well

seems like it was 115v 15amp pull.

I am leaning that way as the video describes the fans as 120v but still not certain

seems like it was 115v 15amp pull.

are these 240 or 120 V units ? I didn’t find that spec on the site
