Mrodair Compressor Guinea Pig
Hello, a newbie to PCP’s here.
I put in a pre-order for the upcoming Mrodair “Airmax” compressor
Thus, far just an automated acknowledgment receipt from Yahoo and haven’t heard anything more re ETA.
Yep, guinea pig ordering a new product. Hopefully it works out.

I’ve owned a harbor freight compressor 2 decades. built my out build and all repairs on my house with it.

To me there is only two options an airgunner should consider. Save money, get a Shoebox Freedom 8 or get the best, the Bauer. Don’t cheap out on a China born compressor. I use a Bauer compressor every day, they are worth the price. If you can’t afford the Bauer get the shoebox. There really isn’t anything in between.
I’ve had my Freedom 8 Shoebox going on two years with 0 problems. I fill two 97 cu ft tanks and have filled over 40 times on same o rings. To top off my tank from 3000 to 4500 takes around 2.5 hours.
I have done some research on these….
From what I have read on overseas forums …. these compressors are working very well.
What really is going to seperate these from the shoebox and the omegas…. is the fact that these have a moisture seperator and filter.
These compressors are not designed for filling large bottles from empty. And neither is the shoebox or omegas…..
These should handle topping off 88cu ft tanks without no problems.
Guess only time will tell
Heck if I didn’t have my coltri I would be jumping on one of these.
My biggest complaint against the shoebox is the lack of moisture seperator… drying the air prior to input just doesn’t cut it.
So hopefully these will provide good dry air and be reliable…. if so these may be the next best portable compressor …
Nobody will know how long one of these will last because there is no long time testing yet. Sounds like it is on the edge and the only thing that is giving it hope is a larger reservoir tank.

I should have stayed away like my gut told me after not getting any return emails on my first inquiries a few months back and I was not the only one who never got return emails. That spooks me the most no response. Shoe Box Max was purchased today. Yes it is slow and an older version but maybe fast is not what I need. I am steppin off this thread hope not to stirred the waters and wish for you b0ys to have great success with this compressor. I hate steppin in the mudd but it is where I keep ending up. Gonna go shower off.

Nothing shifting on the compressor.
We ordered some samples of different brands of this compressor, choose the best build quality of the bunch, designed the upgrades, sent them to the manufacturer and had them fit them as a plug and play setup.
Why ? So it doesn’t come out looking like an erector set.
If we didn’t care, we would just pass the box and wish you the best.
Instead, we worked with the manufacturer after receiving our sample and took the time to make some improvements.
Letting them do the improvements, lets us all get a better product at a better price.
It’s that simple.

In his video he say’s he upgraded the cooling system to make sure this unit wouldn’t over heat so this changes mid stream? Now you require an add on? I am not going to be the test pig that is Zonks job. I do hope all turns out well for everyone who bought one. Not certain why these folks are not forth coming. I would rather not have all the suprises as we go along. I will just buy a Shoe Box Max. It is a simple unit, it is cheaper and lots of folks have had hands on experience. The company is repedable. I really don’t require my bottle to be filled fast like air on demand. No need. Now I am starting to wonder what happens if a compressor goes down who repairs if you can’t? Do these guys have parts or will we find out later no parts. I would rather not find out. Shoe Box here I come.
The way I am currently understanding it is..
The base unit doesn’t have much of a cooling system and is suitable only for filling a small capacity like a gun directly without overheating.
If one needs to fill a bottle, you can add a bigger water reservoir to enable the base unit to work longer without heat problems.
The “upgrade package” comes with the radiator and auto pressure cutoff.
We’ll see.
So if this unit comes with a water separator/water dryer from the factory which I guess is not an upgrade anymore then why in the world would anyone pay all that money for the upgrade package? Most of the price of the upgrade package is the $250.00 water separator. So now you are getting a supposedly upgraded water filter, air-pressure cut off and a air hose for $329.00 which you have to install from one of their high quality video’s, that sounds like a great deal (SARCASM)? Also now we are finding out that the unit can’t handle big bottles and you need some kind of new water cooling upgrade if you plan on filling a big bottle or it will over heat? The guy told me on the phone yesterday this unit is used for filling your gun directly and also for filling paint ball sized tanks?????? So I responded to him. “This unit is used for filling paint ball tanks? I don’t shoot paint balls guns I shoot PCP’s why would I want a compressor that will not fill larger CF tanks like the 97 CU I use?” He started to back track and the reception was so poor I couldn’t make out what he even said something to the effect if I don’t run the tank all the way down under 2000psi it shouldn’t be a problem but I gotta keep and eye on the temp and buy a temp shut off switch. Since they have not charged my credit card yet I put a hold on that card. At this point I have no idea what I am actually getting. When they call me to find out why they can’t get my money. I can talk directly with them. They still have not responded to any of my emails. They also have not responded to any of the emails of others who asked simple questions about the unit. Buyer beware
Yes, I agree it really decreases potential customer and trust as we keep seeing the details shifting.
First they were going to get the base units and upgrade them with their own in-house engineered components.
Then their improved water separator became one by the manufacturer that was was better than their in-house design.
Then upgraded cooling system was overwhelming to build in sufficient quantity so the OEM is building the upgraded
cooling kit and air freighting them to “catch up” with the main shipment.
“We want our customers to understand completely what they are getting for the money,” I read, but
what we are getting has shifted enough that we no longer quite know anything.
Why the water bottles? Are they part of the upgrade package?
Are they for helping the base package work without the upgrade package?
The more we see, the less we know.
It won’t be until some actual units arrive and we start getting feedback from actual
customers that this “experiment” will have reliable information.
I’m waiting on mine and going to report as soon as something actually materializes.
They’ll ship after the holiday.
Now it’s they’ll ship shortly after the holidays.
On one hand I wish it ships sooner.
On the other I hope it takes a bit longer due to MrodAir actually doing some QA and work on the units before shipping them out.

Don’t get it. When exactly did they inform any one that they will need an add on cooling feature if they are filling larger bottles? This deal starts to get worse and worse with ever passing day? They did all this after they raved about how they upgraded the original system to a water cooled radiator unit with three fans? Is this water feature included in the upgrade package or is it $50.00 on top of this price? It is not posted on their site either?

I’m not old enough to ever remember cheap Japanese products. So maybe my grandkids will say the same about products from China but until then your argument is fallacious.
