Is the moderator end cap on the Mutant held on with a grub screw, or threaded?
If set at max fps, does it need additional sound suppression to be “Neighborhood Unnoticeable??

Well, I just shot 3 shots w/ my Shorty. Gun shooting ~810 fps w/ 18.1g JSBs ~26 foot #’s over my cell phone “Sound Meter Pro” app decibel meter on my Android cell phone. The shorty averaged about 68 decibels for 3 shots w/ no ldc/moderator. (a normal conversation is ~60 db) I do have Dmans “swiss cheese” regulator spacer, & his modified valve stem installed. This little gun can shoot w/ a lot more power, but I’m very satisfied where she’s blasting right now. Very small, very quiet & very accurate.
Comparing the report of this lil .22 Shorty to my .25 Vulcan bullpup w/ Donnys 3″ LDC. I took 3 shots @ ~900 fps w/ AA 25.4g pellets @ 45 ft #’s. Averaging 72 db for all 3 shots. Again, very quiet & very accurate for a .25 cal.
I do agree w/ Foxback, the Shorty is more quiter than the Hummingbird, trust me, I’ve owned a bird that was in Mr. Rowes personal collection.
And yes, Foxback is correct again, the Shorty is about the most quite bullpup out of the box.
What I re-call…
Soze did a sound test on the shorty. It was 82-83 on the sound scale.
Which was more quite than the Humming bird.
Any back ground noise at all, you’ll never hear it.

The end cap is screwed on similar to vulcan..
The shorty as long as you keep it around factory speed it is not loud at all.
I make 1/2 20 adapters for them if someone wants one.

How do I get Dman’s swiss cheese regulator spacer and modified valve stem installed? Do I send him a Shorty? He does this for free doesn’t he???
