Mutant Shorty on the way?
I just received an email from fedex that I have a delivery from Charles Frear and referenced by Topgun. I’m assuming it’s the mutant I ordered.
Is Charles Frear a dealer for Topgun? I’m confused…
What every the case, I’m looking forward to having in my hands sometime next week.
I’m going to mount a Clearidge 3-9 mildot scope on it.

I highly recommend the 5 slot Magpul moe rail. Perfect size for the short foreend.
You will love the short. I know. Otherwise I would have sent it back. I’ve own almost all brands of guns from Whiscombes to my current guns edgun r3’s. The mutant has the quality of the Whiscombes and so far shoots as good or better than my edgun r3m .22 which is a laser. Yes my mutant is shooting well NOW but from what I gathered the Korean barrel rifling may degrade over time. Hence, my need for an alternative barrel. Rest assured, you will love the shorty. That’s why we fight for it so much and I’m just one week into one.,

+1 Gabe. I hear you. Frankly I’ve been impressed for some time by the information I’ve read here about the Short. You guys helped me decide on owning.I liked Keyser’s video review. He put the stock in practical shooting-ergonomics terms. He and Ernest Rowe presented the trigger very well. In fact, it’s as you say.”that’s why we fight for it so much”. I can hardly wait to see what all the fuss was about (and I don’t mean the barrels). Thanks for adding to my expectations. You’d better be right, or I’ll turn you over to Hoot: !

I’m hoping Petr comes through in a satisfactory manner and makes things right with people like meech. Petr is frustrating to deal with, and I knew that when I considered the deal he was offering on the Short. I chose to go for it. Gabe is mostly right about Petr’s communication; he goes in spurts, the way I see it. People can get the feeling they are being fucked with, and Petr should expect people to be very pissed about it . If I begin to think a bait-and-switch is at play I’ll be raging too.
I don’t think Keyser and Oakie are out of line with how things appear to be. Easy enough to see how they can get there from here. They are standing up for our hobby and the Short. They have their guns, and know what performance the gun capable of when properly “barreled”. They are letting us know (warning us) what we should expect as a standard. I’m glad to know that too. I hope no one thinks there are two camps at play here on this forum. I don’t think so. I’m not trying to alienate anyone who doesn’t see things the same as me, or iride, or Dman. I believe we all have the same concern. Those of us who are waiting for our product, in my mind are going on with the purchase as an act of faith, along with more than a little anxiety. DMan is telling me what I need to know, and that helps me stay with this purchase. Now I just have to breathe deep, sit back and hope my Short arrives with the ability to shoot as well as Keyser’s, and Oak’s Shorts shoot (even if I have to find a better shooter than me to verify that).
All in all, I’m focused on life with a Mutant Short that I’ll be proud to own right out of the box. I’m hoping it will be worth the worry and strife we all are feeling now.

Peter sucks at communicating. Would of helped if Pete simply emailed me letting me know what was up. Like hey your getting a gun without the CZ barrel but I will send one later. And oh yeah, your gun will be shipped by Charles not tgag. Shit, that’s all it would have taken to not feel fucked.
Keyser nailed it. Good ole bait and switch. Without direct initial communication from Peter, that is exactly what it is, bait and switch. Remember all , I initiated my barrel concern with tgag,not Peter.

I’m waiting patiently for action on Peters end to make it right. Now if those who ordered a shorty from Peter and receive a barrel as advertised and I don’t get the proper barrel from Peter, I’ll be one pissed off Mexican/:(..

Regardless You will get a CZ barrel for your gun. No ones getting fucked.
I don’t believe peter has sent out any guns with the CZ barrels yet.
and if you got one on the sale price with the crappy barrels … then your all set. You will be getting a replacement CZ barrel one way or another.
After all the manufacture did say that he was gonna be replacing the shitty barrels..
I also talked to peter about this and if there is an issue with the barrels he will make it right one way or another….
all you guys that pre ordered a shorty and are expecting a CZ barrel or what ever it may be will get that. I think he is waiting on the machinist or the barrels them selfs…
and when he get the barrels the guns will be rolling out.
So just because one guy got his gun with the korean barrel doesn’t mean everyone is getting one….. thats not happening.
i think everyone is just getting a little impatient. Peter advertised that he would be outfitting them with the barrels from the Czech rep. i see no reason to not believe it…..
I shot my mutant with the fugazi barrel and it did quite well at 30 yards. I was expecting crap. However, I got mislead by Petr. He know it and do does everyone here. I have no problem my gun came from Charlie. Non issue in my book. What pisses me off is that my gun came with the “German” barrel not with either a CZ or Czech barrel. I’m giving Peter the opportunity to make it right with me by sending me a CZ or Czech barrel. I don’t care if the German barrel ends up shooting better than both the CZ or Czech barrel. My point is all about Peter completing his end of our deal. I ordered from his site a mutant with a CZ or Czech barrel as it is clearly stated on his advertisement.

At this point I HAVE LITTLE TO NO FAITH IN PETER from TGAG! SORRY! Maybe he can regain my trust if I hear positive things coming back about the guns he is selling. But this bull shit with Charlie Fraier is bad news!
Peter sold me an upgraded Shroud for my .22 Vulcan that was louder then the original one that came with my gun and it cost me about $115 bucks which I never recovered. He owes me one! When I spoke to him about it he was like OH WELL. OOOH WELL???? It’s Hammer Time!
I told you what Petr told me, through texting. I can either see the deal through, or cancel it. I do not expect a Taiwanese barrel, nor do I expect the gun to ship from anywhere but TGAG. My assumption is the gun will shoot like a laser.
Has anyone received a Mutant Short from TGAG since Petr’s pre-order event of Jan 28? If so, please post your experience. This thread can use some positive news about the matter.
Oakie, don’t you go misunderstanding what I said. Read it again. SLOWLY this time. I said I hope Keyer’s concerns are unfounded. I HOPE THEY ARE UNFOUNDED (regarding the information Petr says about the pre-order sale of Shorts with barrels made in the Czech Reepublic). I don’t know that any of those guns have shipped from TGAG yet. I not speaking to what shipped from Charlie Fraier. I think we all want this to be on the level. We’ll just have to wait and see. I assure you and anyone else who gives a shit that I am not bullshitting. I’m saying what I know to be true. It’s obvious I’m hoping for a good end, but i’m not blowing smoke up anyone’s ass here

You can order the rail from most online sporting/gun store like Midway as well as the atlas bipod. I recommend the bipod with the quick disconnect. I have only one bipod and it’s a snap to fasten it on any of my guns w/ a rail.
