My .25 Vulcan
Well it is officially 7:30 am here in West Central Wisconsin. My Vulcan is being pulled off the Postal truck now and will be available for pick up at the post office when they open. Plan is to head out to my buddy’s place and strap the MTC Viper Connect on top, get her dialed in and hit the woods for a squirrel hunt. Saturday was opener here and he and I bagged 9 Greys and a fat hopper with the Disco and my .25 Prod. (Pics to come)I figure I’ll deal with all the crony stuff a bit later today and get to drawing some blood first. Probably just dial in with light Kings firs as the seem to be a good pellet in the Vulcan from what I have read…too ready been too long…can’t wait I’m like a kid on Christmas! :7: :8:

You ignorant .. something ! The Connect is made for short eye-relief thus very wide FOV. It´s an Airgun specific scope so not that great on a .338 LM or equivalent ..

I was at a hardware store yesterday and found you can get those grommets with a 3/8th ID in a much smaller OD (Outside Diameter) so you don’t have to cut down the outside to get it to fit. I’ll post some pics later today if my vision clears up and I can see what I’m doing. I got Ernest’s hammer spring guide and I’m really curious to find out how much difference these two mods make. Venting the shroud has really reduced the muzzle blast, so this is the last step in noise abatement.

I am going to crono again this week. My Hill MK3 pump finally shit, well I was to blame sort of..the inner most tube the 3rd stage, was warped some how..not sure but pump was only rated to 3300 psi and I was filling to 250+ bar with it..it blew seals 3 times since Vulcans arrival. Well I ordered the new Hill MK4 rated to 4000psi and it’s arrived today so back in business!! I will say I have had ZERO issues tho, still accurate as I can make it..proud to say I haven’t missed yet in a hunting scenario. Curious tho what keeps the hammer setting from shifting over time..? I don’t see any set screws soooooo…hmmm
I know it was an issue for us Marauder guys and I drilled and tapped my settings to lock them..

Mine settled in at a lower fps too. Has me a bit baffled because it was shooting 938 when I got it. Now I’m at 922 with hammer spring turned 2 rounds in. My gun is much louder than I got it shooting at a higher fps. Either crony got sick over time or something is weird. I was out shooting after work and do notice that 1.5 mils is dead on at 80 yards. Used to be 2 mils. So when I get more free time I will investigate some more. All things point toward gun is shooting hotter than chronograph is telling me. It has never been this loud as it is now. Groups are 1″at 80 yards so its doing not bad.. Rubber grommet sure got rid of spring twang in a hurry

Well, it’s been awhile now and I’m wondering how your fps is holding up???
I can only get 880 with 25 gr JSB’s, and 839 with 31gr Barracudas. I can’t really complain as that’s a good 50+ fpe. However, I am curious whether your regulator “settled down” after some use and stabilized at a lower fps? That seems to have been the experience of many of the users, some of whom were greatly concerned about fluctuations of fps as the guns broke in over time, especially with the 22 calibers.

Yeah me too with the .25 it was constant.. pain in the ass. As for the shooting thanks man, little bugger took $ome getting used to, I still gotta add a lil heft to the trigger ..very light hair trigger. Also the group is only at 35 yd …I’m realizing that is nothing for this gun.
FM, that’s why I got rid of my .22 Marauder it would change POI between loads……That’s some nice shooting FM.
This one goes out to all the air gunners like me who have battled POI shift in Marauders etc..this is the same target earlier in the thread just 2 days later..AND after removing the gun from the stock and installing a rail for my Bipod! 5shot group 1 CLEAN hole in center of target just right of the writing…now THAT’S what I’m talking about!!!
Bird that’s some serious distance your shooting. Sounds like the .25 is the way to go.
Familyman 811 , Tony chronied my .25 Vulcan with Kings at an average of 915 fps also . Seems that the kings at least for now will be a major
factor in long range shooting . I have so far been able to hit my target out to 192 yds. with the kings . I will be trying out heavier pellets and
see how they will perform , I do know that H&N 28.40 gr. Cudas are just as good as the kings at 60 yds. and haven’t had a chance to try them
at a greater distance as yet . Given time I will see how H&N 31.02 Cudas and JSB King MKII Heavy 33.95 gr. pellets will perform at least to 100 yds.
