My EdGun Matador R3M 22 cal
I received my Matador (01/05/2014) in absolutely perfect condition and in 3 days ! 
I enjoyed talking to Tony R, he is easy to joke around with so much so I forgot to order some extra Brass rings ! 😳
2+3 extra mags, 2 valve stems and an extra fill probe.
I fill to 220 bar and shot down to 110 bar using JSB 18g, here the out of box chrony results with a 920 fps average.
I refilled to 200 bar and got 50 good shots down to 120 bar.
I haven’t cleaned the barrel yet, 5 shot group at 50 yards with little wind.
5 shot group 75 yards with little wind.
At rest on my chrony/work bench, I can’t wait for this weekend hopping it doesn’t rain !!

No need for the tube over the pin Greg, just wind the linkage con rod out a little from the hammer end and it will reduce the triggers first stage. A little drop of blue loctite is a good idea also.
Once you have it where you like it adjust the trigger screw to get the second stage break you like. The spring behind the trigger will also reduce trigger pull weight.

Very impressive 50 yard groups!
The first stage travel does affect the shear engagement and owners should take up this first prior to doing the bump test especially so on lighter adjustments.
When removing the Trigger assembly DO NOT dry fire, it will/can break the hammer springs guide rod !
I used the siphon tube from a Windex spray bottle, the ID is a little bigger than the pin but works okay.
Dimension of the tube is 3/16″ OD x 1/8″ ID and with a 1/32″ wall thickness.
I remove the trigger rail assembly and punched out this pin (see pic below) from left to right and installed a piece of tube and tapped the pin back in.
From the factory setting I turned the trigger adjustment screw CW about ½ a turn.
Took up the first stage travel then released it and applied the bump test.
It also moved the trigger location a bit back and for me that’s a plus with my size of hand.
With this mod the first stage travel was reduced about 50% and the trigger feels a lot lighter than my Crickets, very light and breaks crisp !
Pull weight comes in at about 6 oz, I may need to increase it to 7 !!

I use the PatchWorm cleaning system with Ballistol.

But use it with Otis Ultra Bore Clean on the first clean and use it periodically after every 2,000 shots or so.
It seems to remove more lead easier then Ballistol.
Some say it can hurt the O-ring seal, but I’ve haven’t had any issues so far.
I used WD-40 for over 30 years then went with Otis than Ballistol for general barrel cleaning.

Followed with denatured alcohol if I not in the mood to waste pellets to get to POA faster.

What did you use to clean your barrel? I’m thinking about cleaning mine in hopes of tightening up my groups.
Shot count 620 pellets so far.
After a barrel clean most 5 shot groups are averaging 1/4″ ctc at 50 yards.
Both of these are 1 full mag shots at 50 yards today at noon with no wind but very humid !
My cocking bolt handle became loose, but an easy fix with a little blue Loctite on the hex bolt threads.
After the break-in period I’m thinking of taking up some of the first stage travel.
Looking for advice on different ways of doing it.
Thinking of using a nylon tube and placing it onto the first stage limiting pin forwards the trigger blade.
Not sure also is that when doing so will it decrease the shear engagement ?
Also what is the minimum trigger pull weight on the R3M when it’s consider to be unsafe ?

I commend Ed on a fine job done on the R3M, from the machining to the anodizing what a piece of work, A Masterpiece!
The trigger feels like it did improve over the R2, smoother and adjustable to a bit lighter pull as well.
The stock I got is flawless also, I’ve seen beautiful one that are dark contrasting ones with some figure.
But, ya I counted my blessing on the dark one I got with some light figuring throughout.
Planning to follow Ed’s advice and run +2,000 pellet through first before making any tweaks.
I’m still playing with the scope height and location.

Yes Sir, that would work also but I needed to move the trigger blade starting location back.
I have med/lrg hands but are thick from being a bodybuilder and I had a hard time reaching it.
But now that I got the trigger location where I want it, I’d could use that method to fine tune the first stage travel from behind.
I also notice that the more thicker the tube used the more it reduces the first stage shear engagement.
So when you back off on the trigger after easing back the first stage (if quarry leaves) the shear hasn’t moved, much safer now if you ask me.
Not sure if other owners notice that if you cock the gun and squeeze off the first stage and stop before the break then release the trigger.
Squeeze off the first stage again, it will have a lighter pull compare to the first pull and will remain lighter until you re-cock it again to full reengage the shear again.
With the tube in place I don’t have that effect, the trigger pressure is the same all the time now and IMO feels excellent a lot like my Mutant Shorty’s trigger.
