Q:

My new R3 is discharging air

Around the breech area seam. It is NOT the little breech O-rings. I checked, double checked and even changed them out. This is my new 25cal R3 that we’re talking about. so I did not get much shootin in before I had to stop. It is loud in that area and discharges air upon triggering. Does not leak continuiously, so it’s not the valve. Look at my picture, you will see my delima. I am thinking two things based on the Ed video of the Matador assembly, little o-ring/gasket between the valve and barrel mount, or the o-ring on the barrel itself.

Help !

Be cool… The R3s’ barrel is fitted properly…
That’s different with an R2.5 🙁

Yep, I couldn’t keep the rubber O ring in either.

I put a Teflon one in and it is still working, so far.

I had a same problem, but i used spare O rigs I got with my Matador, rubber O ring. I shot maybe 500 pellets and no problem at all. If you set that rubber O ring properly, there is no chance that it will flew out. Just be carefull when you assemble your gun and watch that that O ring is properly installed in your gun. 😉

You just got lucky. Trust me I have installed the rubber rings properly several times.

Nice, now enjoy your R3!!!

The long awaited EMS Russian Post came in from ED. It took nearly a MONTH for the EMS to get here.

I got few Brass rings for the R3 25 and few Moderator inner rings.

when installed as is I had a big gap between beech and air tube.

rings are 1.5mm thick and I had to sand it down to 1.35mm thick for a perfect fit.

Now R3 25 is finally how its suppose to be =)

Here is what they look like.

Thanks Ed for the follow up. I thought that you shot and tuned every Edgun before it was boxed for shipping.

When I first took my R3 apart, I noticed the transfer port rubber O ring and I wondered if it was another one of the improvements from the R2.5 to the R3.

The Teflon O ring that I am now using is doing OK, so far. I will put the copper O ring in as soon as I get one.

Ed needs to make sure that in the future these guns are test fired AFTER the final assembly.

I did. Who could know that the man, who was was responsible to carry them through the border will disassemble them!? He got assembled guns on the Russian side and returned them ASSEMBLED on the European side and the only reason I knew about it was your topic!!! Then I asked him if he did dissassembling and he confirmed that! We don’t work with him any more, sorry for that shit 🙁

I think the issue with the new .25 R3s is that after they were completed, they were disassembled for for shipment and then re-assembled afterwards, and not by Ed or Tony. I think Ed and Tony are now trying to address any issues that were caused by this.

Well I think Ed and Tony do a good job.I believe Ed responded and
has sent rings.Ed responds to about every problem. We`re not the
only country or forum.JMO
On another note I`ve been having accuracy prob. since I got my gun
about 2mos. ago. Most of this was due to lube, gunk, in barrel.
Right now it is shooting better than me which is what I have been looking
for.Shot a .290″ and .315″ ctc @ 50yds tonight.Now I know what Edgun accuracy means.Shooting at tacks @ 50yds and hitting them.Its a lot of
fun shooting a gun this accurate, but you guys know that just glad I do too.

All of these R3s were more or less “ordered” @ 7 months ago with a deposit of $250. This new Rs long 25cal was going to be the shnizzit. I had a 22 Metador at the time and could not wait to get me hands on this new R3. Quite a few of us laid out hard earned money in tonys hands to secure this rifle. Now it unfortunate that when it arrives there is a part missing. And is it an O-ring or a Copper washer ? Ed says it’s a washer. Right now the Lowes O-ring is holding, on another gentlemans gun it is not. Ed has some washers heading my way so when they arrive I’ll break the gun down again and see how that O-ring was holding up.

I see this as a minor setback. But the end result is as expected – the gun is another tack driver. Ed needs to make sure that in the future these guns are test fired AFTER the final assembly. I am positive that if my gun was test fired after the final – Ed would of seenthere is a problem, it was real load at the breech.

I wonder how many guns were shipped that had lost that O-ring/Washer ? Only heard of two right now.

Well I was pretty sure that part was going to be a washer, not an 0-ring. (riffy pats himself on back) 😆

Holy Crap this Edgun shit is getting really old!! you guys have waited forever for your guns! now you get them and parts are missing!!!! Don’t get me wrong I own a Matador 22 cal and love it! But Ed really needs to move his buisness and get things straightend out once and for all! Zocol I am guessing still waiting on his?? That is the problem imo with these if you don’t have any problems things are good! but when you do it seems to be the same old story pm Ed or Tony no response wait and then wait some more! sorry to rant on but somebody needs to step up and throw out some facts on what is going on! What would we do if we bought one of the several other models sold here in the USA ? I get so tired of hearing all the stories about them customs here customs there sounds like a bunch of fucking idoits we are dealing with! trust this guy trust that guy sounds like to me they are all in a world of bullshit!! 😯 😯

I got to go to the range yesterday. I have one of the Teflon O rings in my R3 and I shot around 200 shots. No leaks, at least so far!

F and D said that he will send me a copper O ring when he gets them from Ed.

Not good….

Get those brass rings coming Ed.
