New .25 Shorts are here!
Hey guys, shameless plug time…
I am super excited about the new .25 shorts. I have longed for one forever and now Ed makes them. These new models have a bunch of upgrades and I think you’ll be pleased. I am going to make a video about all the changes to the R3M. Until my video here’s some eye candy of the new short compared to my personal .25 standard.
I thought the little guy looks perfect with the 2.5-10X32 Vortex PST FFP, notice the balance

I have tested them and they came from the factory shooting 895-900 FPS, In my opinion that is the perfect speed for a short .25

I am not interested in being in a cave testing in a lab. I am an outdoorsman, I shoot in less than perfect conditions and use trees, monopods or a car window to hold my gun still. To me a gun must have a relationship with the shooter. I tried a rig like yours, I actually shot it worse. I couldn’t make micro adjustments when I felt wind or read mirage. I now use that vice to repair guns. These are hunting guns, not rail guns. I have enough trigger time to know when the mistake was mine.
Hey if that’s what makes you happy I say go for it. Most people I have talked to use the Matador to kill critters. In my .25 short video I stretch the limit of a short gun in my opinion. If the gun wasn’t balls out accurate there is no way I could have made my next video.
Pip, I also think that would be interesting, a super short matador. I want to try and talk Ed into making a version of the Lelya 2.0 into what I would call the Mini-maddy. It would be just like the Lelya 2.0 you saw at IWA but with a smaller, shorter Matador stock. Thoughts?…ED?…

My point is that you should test the gun firstly and then you can test your abilities as a human. If you want to push your limits – the gun must be better than you. Otherwise you waste your life with thinking like: what happened, I did everything right but I missed; whereas a fast camera could have revealed some beautiful pellet spiralling. Easy.
I am not talking about any specific gun or manufacturer – just in general.
Keyser, how about testing like that:
JSB factory, the gun is clamped in a huge vice. In front of the gun there is a chrono and 50 yards of a tunnel with a target at the end.
Simply send me the guns, I will tell you everything about them. Or ask me a question about the groups. After spending so many hours in testing in a laboratory I know how the proper PCP should shoot like at the distance of 50 meters in perfect conditions with the right pellets and v0. If I were a dealer I would not sell a single gun without tests that follow my methodology.

When I am lazy I test like that:
Testing the accuracy of the gun, not the accuracy of the shooter.
Here I test the gun potential only.

My subjective hard facts :biggrinn: concerning accuracy are that if a high end pcp doesn’t shoot one hole groups at 50 meters with your setup then simply ask your money back :angrymob:
Man, your post is subjective. Short may mean many different things. I am talking about hard facts – accuracy at 50 meters.

I don’t say the Matador short is wrong or they don’t sell, what I say is that the name “Short” is wrong because 690mm is not short and I fully agree that too short is hard to shoot.
I was shooting and handling well the Cricket Compact which is short (620mm) but the Lelya was simply too short for me but then everybody is different.
Personally I think that a real short Matador would have its market share (IMHO) and probably 600mm is the size limit.
