Q:

New Condor Valve

Started on this today. Had this idea and went with it. Making new condor type valve with larger stem. Will be .312″ with a .250″ or maybe .260″ hole. I’m finding the Blod type valves need a lot of hammer spring and condor valve doesn’t. Changed the spring retainer threads and the front to make room for larger stem and o ring. Have to remake the brass piece. I actually made it before the body just to check on single pointing the threads.

Nice work!! Keep em coming!!!

NOW were getting somewhere. when can we expect some fresh numbers?

smells like 160 ftlbs. to me… 😈

Yes it is same thread. Bottle side is same as gun side now. I will bore out one of my Etac’s to 7/8-14. What do you think? Will have a lot more air in the valve around the seal and a lot bigger hole feeding it. Seems like it will help for sure on bigbore. I only put threads in the ends and left the center smooth on the inside 😀

i dont suppose thatll fit the oem collar?

Looks really nice…

Here is my newest version of the modified condor valve. Will cut the last threads tomorrow and start on the brass pieces.

Started on next version of my modified condor valve. Keeping track of how long it takes this time. Need to bore out the threads for the o ring in the front and then I can turn it around and do the other side.

Doug,

Dude I am with moneyshot on this, you get these where you would part with one or even two, put me down also… Please…

The bigger hammer does make alot of difference, at least to a point… You can get them to when they are just big! To slow and not anymore advantage. I have done that just this weekend… I am down to just a 110gram hammer and a meaner quicker responding hammer spring…

I need a bigger valve now and I will probably stick my extra Blod valve back in, while I figure out if I can do a bushing for the valve I am trying to put the larger stem in…

I am not a fan of how the tophat locks down on the Blod valve though. To hard to adjust while in the frame and with the ETAC on my Condor its to friggin’ much hassle to take on and off very often while adjusting and playing with different settings…

Doug,

I made a seperate thread on the stuff on my trigger assembly I chewed out. I have had several guys ask me about them for some time now and figured I could just post PIC’s of them for all that would like to see and/or ask questions on them…

Yeah but for some reason I can open my new valve with the same setup for the Blod valve. I made a Blod valve with same size stem and hole and I could not get it to open at 3000 psi. I did get 860 fps at 2300 psi with 62 gr though. I haven’t messed with it lately. I guess it’s time to try it again with the larger hammer.

btw doug,

that is what gives the blod its edge, no spring or threads fukkin up the airflow…

quote Dyotat100:

I’m going to make the sear out of stainless here soon. Also going to make another condor style valve similar to what I have now but air will not go thru the spring. I think what’s limiting the valve is not getting enough air to the seal when it opens.

keep me posted on that, its a for sure buy on my behalf.

may i recommend tool steel instead?

hell, if anyone got the means, titanium nitride coated…

if my dad didnt do a casey jones and disappear on me years ago, id have used his plasma cutter to do it myself…
