Q:

NEW: FX BOBCAT MK2

Talked to FX via email about the Bobcat MK2 that will allow to external adjusting of Regulator

———–
Yes we have a new Bobcat Mk2.

The difference of the Bobcat and the Bobcat Mk2 is a new lighter tube with
the max pressure of 250bar, regulator standard and manometer upfront (no
copper tube)

They will be available in a week and a half.

Best regards Johan

I´ve not heard anything about this “new” BC. Weird since i was talking to their # 1 dealer in Sweden just Friday. We talked about the BC and what i think should be changed on it to make it appealing. We talked almost an hour and he didn´t say a word about any new, improved Mk2 so either this is pure BS or he has been threatened to secrecy.

I don´t mean that i know anything about FX marketing strategies but it strikes me kinda odd that their biggest dealer here didn´t mention anything about this although we were talking BC a good while. I can think of an “US Export” model of some kind with reg installed in better way than it is now – which is something a third grader kid could´ve done if asked. Weird things have happened before though so maybe there´s a new BC around the corner.

Its simple…. There is a large cache of the balooga out there. they don’t wanna get stuck with them. so they aren’t releasing them till all the whales are beached.  same reason AOA hasn’t got it plastered everywhere yet either. there was one little blurp about it … thats it.

AOA dont wanna sit on inventory. and no one wants a balooga if they can get a better lighter balooga with all the options…

Yeah that is a nice shooting gun but I too feel the same way about AoA. They are not going to see anymore of my $$$. Looks like I’m hoping for the Edgun will shoot like that FX

I would think a 30 Edgun would shoot just as good as the Bobcat if not better. I like the Edguns and would consider getting one in .30 some day. My broke a$$ just can’t afford one at the moment.

Thanks guys, 10 gun, I like that. I wish my current rifle was a 10 gun but no luck. It’s a 3 gun haha.

Yeah, AOA is the only importer of FX here in the States (along with other nice brands). I do wish we had more importers and distributors like they have in Europe. Hell, I wish there was a airgun store within 500 miles of me other than Walmart and their crummy $70 break barrels. Why don’t we have more brick and mortar airgun stores??

That’s some good shooting, you might have got a ten gun as I call them, Every once in a while a gun goes through the line and comes out perfect…
Just a little better than the rest, Or they are called the one,,,
I got a .25 syn rod Marauder like that, a Ten gun, The one. ( When you can keep it sighted in)
Anyway the FX sure sounded good then the name of AOA came up, I just have a bad taste in my mouth from them guys.
Is AOA the only dealer for FX guns, If so that sucks.
Thanks for taking the time and posting on your ex gun,
Mike

Dman,

I hardly consider my shooting abilities any better than the next guy. I am not one to brag nor embellish so what you see is what you get with me. As you can see from my earlier post, I listed my observations (some good some bad) with no bias or vested interest whatsoever.

That being said, proof is in the pudding or so they say. On Aug 30, 2014, I uploaded a copy of a target I had shot from 75 yards. The original post can be found here (http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1409423743). For convenience, Here is the post:

Earlier this month, I posted a 1″ 100 yard grouping of 9 shots. While I was at the range yesterday, the 100 yard lanes were unavailable so I went to the 75 yard lanes and here is the last target I shot from the day. I used JSB 44 grain pellets straight from the tin unsorted. No wind other than a slight breeze now and then. It was a beautiful day at 79 degrees with no humidity. i shot from a wobbly table using my MGM Predator rest. The scope I used was a US Optics LR-17 17x scope.

Here is my last target of the day, shot right after my gun had tippled off my rest and fell to the table. I amazed to find the scope didn’t budge and remained perfectly zeroed and true. I shot 3 pellets on each of the outer bulls eyes and 5 at the middle bull. Now I rarely am able to shoot an entire paper target without the occasional pulled shot ruining what would otherwise have been a nice set of groups. This example however, is one of the best paper targets I have shot showing tight groups all around. I didn’t measure the groupings so my guess is the best grouping of the 5 is the (top left box) at somewhere under .5″ give or take.

If any of you have software that can analyze the target, I’d be grateful if you could run it and post the findings.

I credit the FX .30 Bobcat for these shots and the US Optics 17x scope for the crystal clear view. The rifle is a tack driver and can out shoot me any day of the week. Every now and then, I manage to hold it together.

As for AOA, I have no axe to grind with them. My experience dealing with them has always been positive.

The .30 Bobcat was a terrific rifle and I have yet to come across another airgun as accurate as that gun. You should be able to easily shoot sub MOA groups at 100 yards in a light breeze with this gun. Heck, my thirteen year old nephew shot a full magazine (9 pellets) into single ragged hole at 100 yards on his first try. Anyway, you get the point.

Your starting to sound like the great almighty Reaper. whats next your shooting sub MOA with out the stock. While i do agree they are are very accurate but i find that a little far fetched.

I have owned one. And because AOA and there lack of customer service skills and the way they treat customers…. i sold mine and refuse to deal with AOA ever again.

I’ve heard from a little bird that the new line of FX will blow the lid of anything out there right now, …and this bird is not a Bullshitter birdie at all :biggrinn:

O i don’t know about that. FX isn’t the only one with a Secret. .

Well lets hear more …..

thanks for that review, I found it very helpful. I might be getting an Edgun R3, but I reserved one late and Tony might be getting one extra. If he does then I might have an Edgun. The Bobcat looks good and I was wondering about the range. Might be worth waiting for the new model.

The new Bobcat sounds like a cool gun,, I always said the .25 was over kill in air guns, But it seems slowly I am changing my mind.
Now Two years ago I thought the 177 was the top dog and the only accurate pellet out there,,, I just did not keep up with the changing times…
But everything I read the .30 Bobcat is perfect for my sparrow killing , Accuracy over power any day, But power with accuracy is king…..

For what it’s worth, here are some personal observations on the 30 Bobcat:

Insanely accurate and easy to shoot
Lever action is very smooth and effortless
Excellent trigger out of the box, never had to adjust it
60-70 shots shooting from 250 bar to 150 bar
Easy to shoulder and nicely balanced
If shooting from a bench, you can cock it without taking your eyes off the sight
Synthetic stock is very durable and abrasion resistant
Prefers the the 44gr JSBs and 46gr FX pellets best. The heavier 50gr JSB just okay.
The O-ring (just inside the chamber) that forms a seal around the pellet probe is a a bit of a pain to replace
I used an MTM Predator shooting rest and it was a bitch keeping it from sliding around
Due to the bullpup design, your ear is right next to the action and it’s fairly loud when shooting
The magazine is retarded as you have to load the first pellet skirt first under tension
It’s not a pretty gun by any stretch of the imagination
At 75 yards and beyond, there is a noticeable arc to the pellet trajectory
You will need a straw to get a heavy line through the tip of the barrel when cleaning, even with the baffles off.

Cheers,
Scott

That sucks. I have been there before. I only ask because I am in the market for a .30 caliber bullpup. The Bobcat is a contender For me
