Q:

New LDC line up including Fat Boy

Ok guys, I’ve been MIA for a long long time working on my new designs and waiting for the new lathe that Dman recommended. The machine finally arrived last Friday and it has been really fun. I still can’t make shrouds yet, the machine didn’t come with all the parts that I need. So for guys who are waiting for shrouds, Hopefully I can get the tools soon and get them out to you quick. Promise I’ll make it up to you.

I have 4 new LDCs but I am super excited about the Fat Boy. This is my 4.25 inch x 2 inch OD. With this thing on, my .25 Edgun Matador sounds like the Mutant. I will even go above and beyond and say I think it is even quieter than the Mutant but I’ll let you guys decide 🙂

I have no secrets to keep with my LDC design because with these models, you can unscrew the end caps and see for yourself. I recently purchased a $5k laser cutter to help me take my hobby to the next level. I laser cut 1/4 felt sheets into spacers around the baffles and washers. I pack it in really well and it cushions all the blast.

Yesterday I sent out all the pre-orders and after stopping by the post office, I went home and played with the idea of using 1/4 thick felt as spacers. Drew my design in CAD and let the laser cutter do its thing. Amazing how accurate it cuts. Fits the tube like a glove. Anyways I was blown away by how effective it is. Long story short, I will be sending out an upgrade package to the LDCs that I sent out.

I have a limited number of the Fat boys so if you want one, they are $155 shipped within the US. Someone suggested I make a soup label and include it since it looks like a soup can lol.

All LDCs are $155 shipped

Sizes available are:
6 3/8 x 1.5 Glossy CF
7 5/8 x 1.5 Glossy CF
4.25 x 2 Glossy CF

4.25 x 2 Matte CF

Thank you to all the pre-orders

Hey guys I just want to mention, when you screw on the LDC hold onto the rear end cap to screw it onto the shroud. If you hold onto the tube you will torque it too much and it will be a pain in the butt if you want to unscrew the rear cap from the tube. You do not need to torque it too much either. Same thing with the shroud, hang onto the OEM shroud when you screw on the LDC. If you are holding onto the gun and torquing the LDC, the shroud will screw tighter onto the barrel. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you have any questions.

Donnyfl , I know that the Mutant Shorty .25 cal. has not hit the market yet , however for those who are going to get one
do you think that you will be able to make a LDC Fatboy that will work for this gun if the makers of the Mutant do not make
an LDC that will come as a stock item for the .25 cal. Mutant ?

FROM : THE BIRDMAN

Good Looking Stuff Donny! ‘-) Wonder what you can do for a .257 Talon/Dor!

Got my fat boy in way cool, Installed it on my Mutant because My Cricket does not have the threaded end cap,
I had a LDC installed from Peter that had the female end in the shroud and the male end in the LDC. Just backwards of most LDCs
Makes the Mutant look short and bad ass looking,
Donny how you holding up with the Hurricane coming down on you,
You think you can fix my Cricket shroud?

I have but you really need a quality CNC milling machine to get a nice formation. If you make the holes manually, it will look horrible. i’ve vented the tube in my previous version, some said it helped some said it sounded the same.

have you ever thought about venting the front cap with Hoot: style vents?

Definitely interested e-mail sent!

Donny, hadn’t thought about the large diameter getting in the way of refilling, but that’s no big deal. I usually take my current one off when I put the guns in a soft case, so removing for filling won’t be a big deal either. My vulcan has the threaded end cap. I got the rifle from Tony and he put one on it for me. The LDC’s you made for me work just fine on it so I’d assume this fat boy will too.
Thx,
Charlie

Lol that’s awesome your screen name is fatdude, I think you need a fat boy in your life!

When are you going to make an eccentric fat boy for the Matador?

Fudd, after the dust settles a bit with the orders I’ll see if I can design an offset moderator for the Edgun. Fatboy will definitely not fit under the scope. Go to you pantry and and grab a can of soup and see if you can fit it under your scope

Thanks buddy, Fat boy will fit on the Cricket standard but since the rear cap is so thin, it’ll be very close to your air tube. You’ll have to remove it to fill the gun. I was going to make a cone shape but it will add a lot of weight since it is 2 inch in OD. If you have a newer Vulcan with the factory male adapter on the shroud, I will be selling those end caps as well. That way you can interchange your LDC without having to buy two whole ones.

They all look really great, “fat boy”‘s design is quite smart as it helps keep the bullpups short as originally intended without compromising efficiency. :8:

I thought the same thing when they named a gun a Priest.
