NOT HAPPY WITH SELPHB VALVE!!!!!
Here is my Selphb valve.
Am I impressed? Am I fuck. After this video I installed the valve and tried to fill. I filled to 2500 psi and tried to release the pressure. Each time I opened the bleed( yes, as quickly as poss’) it all bled out again. Why? Because the oring that seals the tophat is too tight. When you depress the tp, you can feel it rolling the oring over in a ‘click’ type of way. When under pressure, this oring is expanding a little and totally locking the tophat open.
I’m gonna have to get the tp shaved a little to make a decent fit, get the stem replaced and put a smaller return spring in. So for the price of a new valve, all I am actually gonna use of this valve is the valve body and tp(once I modify it to work). What a waste of money and time(including Mam’s who sourced it for me)
Totally gutted.
Try and send it back? After all the problems people have had with getting hold of him etc, I don’t think I’ll bother. I’ll be able to sort it out thanks to Sean and Lang, but why the fuck should I have to?
Let me make this clear. THIS IS NOT A COPY OF A BLODNOB VALVE!! IT IS A POOR ATTEMPT AT BEST. MINE DOES NOT FUNCTION AS IS AND WILL REQUIRE EXTENSIVE WORK TO GET IT GOING.

Got your addy, I just wanna know if the Brad/Blod valve is good or not.
I just emptied the tank, funny thing, I stacked 2 pennies in the adapter and gave it a slow run in, nice and easy.
I started to use the leaking air to blow of some of the SAW Mans power tools.Jeez can’t waste air 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
And all the sudden kaboom!!!!
I think one of the pennies was of cant a bit 😳 😳 😳 😳
Anyway, I just tightened the fill adapter a wee bit more to bleed off the remaining air.
Here is a pic of the penny, I was impressed 😛 😛 😛
So anyway Walter, I will send you the valve, so you can inspect it
And if you can fix it, if need be, I will gladly pay you for your time 😉
Also, I haven’t removed the valve from the tank yet, I could send you the whole enchilada if that is better for you, just need to get her back.
Your old school TAG and SAW has respect for that.
Let me know what is best, valve, or tank and valve.

too bad the , as you say, silence is deafening. opportunists drive me crazy.
I just can’t understand why, given all the failed selphb valves'( see the poll in general) someone didn’t speak up sooner.
Selph claimed there to be only like two failed stems and he took care of them.
Was there not something like 40 of these valves sold? or maybe 100?
Anyone have a donor Blod/Selph valve I could evaluate?
would yours be one of the ‘only’ two stems that broke as per Brad?
Did you fix it? Do you want to get rid of it cheap?
I am interested in doing an evaluation of the design but at a reduced cost for sure 🙂

SAW for one never got the chance to mess with it.
I have it, tried it with-out the pogo stick spring, not really willing to install the heavy spring, wear and tear 🙄 🙄 🙄
These guns are not meant for that, I am currently running a J3 Mag modded Talon valve, seems to do pretty well, yet to put it across the chony.
I have been so busy getting the SAW palace together, no time to mess with it.

Well guys Walter lives close to me, I have known him for awhile and even though he comes across cranky at times it is because he really knows his stuff and wants to share what his industry training/experience provides besides it is just his style but seriously he is pretty happy guy.
I can’t speak for the others but I do know it is human nature to sometimes be quiet about issues.

I’m with you on that one ‘sam. Just enough return spring to help ‘guide’ the seal back home. Tank pressure does the rest. So why the selphb valve needs such a heavy one is beyond me. Just makes the valve harder to open…
