You can’t determine who deleted my post either? It was an unbiased observation I made. Given all the off the wall comments I’ve seen here, I’m surprised it was deleted. It was something along the line of “Edguns are great…but OMG for $2K, it needs better spare parts support”.
That would not get a post deleted.

That’s something else I’m sort of waiting on… I’d like to actually hold one of these babies in my hand at some point. My reference is only with respect to my experience with powder burners and an old Sheridan or Benjamin pump. I’m new to this PCP gun technology and I’m totally hooked! I bought an Airforce Condor SS with American Express bonus points, and found out how much fun they are…
I hope to get to go to one of the airgun shows in the near future. There was one recently in Fort Worth, but I had a scheduling conflict or I’d have been there.

Charlie even if the bolt was on the left side you would have to dismount the gun. Pulling the bolt requires some real force as you are cocking a spring and indexing the mag. I shoot left-handed and it works fine with Tue bolt on the right side

Thank you for your feedback. It is obvious that you are doing the best you can from Russia to support your products here in the States. That is a difficult task at best. With regard to not making any left hand guns/actions/etc. until you get orders, I guess I can understand that, but coming from a manufacturing background and the sale and support of products in the field, I can honestly say that if I waited until I got orders for some of my products before I would build them, especially since they were at least offered on the web site, I’d likely not be able to grow my own product lines and my company. But that’s your call. I know you are a lefty as I have corresponded with you regarding this in the past and you pointed me to your videos. However, that is YOUR shooting style and not necessarily mine. In a hunting situation, if I mount the gun with a good cheek weld and fire, there is no way to cycle the next round into the chamber without dismounting because the bolt would be firmly anchored under my chin. That’s why I’d prefer a left handed bolt. I understand now that you apparently do not offer this option. It certainly was not clear from your web site.
As far as the “snobbish” comment and reply… being in the business of selling and supporting products in the field, I have learned that often it is not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it that makes a big difference in the impression a customer may get of your company or products. It is particularly important when a potential customer is considering a top end product that costs a great deal of money. In this particular case, with the data that was available, the customer had a legitimate question and made a legitimate and serious inquiry about the left handed options. Too come back and tell the customer they don’t know what they are talking about by telling him not to ask for products that do not exist and call him out in a public setting is… well at best unwise, and in my opinion snobbish. Frankly, I could have used stronger words, but I didn’t.
Good luck Ed with the success of your products in the States. I still hope some day to own an Edgun as I do think they are a well made gun and have some very good features behind your technology. I will continue to monitor their progress on this side of the pond and if I see that their support is satisfactory to my needs, I will reconsider. I can tell you that adding Talon Tunes as a “distributor” or “reseller” is a step in the right direction.

I am just getting into airgun hobby and your Matador is my first love of airgun. One day my dream of owning one of your Matador will be my reality.
I just need to stop jumping into the sand box and just stand outside and observe like I’ve always do.

I just found out that with almost the same amount of money I could have got a Finnish sauna instead of a matador 😀
Ed, could it be that the finnish sauna just works fine but you need to take around 2-3K of saunas to break it in? :whistle:

I have done a very detailed evaluation on a bunch of these bull pups, and I thought I wanted an Edgun. However, with all the issues I have read about on here and literally every other forum I can find on air guns, about lack of real support for the Edgun products, then get a very snobbish response, I think I’ve pretty well made up my mind that I do not want an Edgun and all the potential headaches that could come along with it. I’ll not bother you or “Ed” further.

Sorry for my English, but I mean, by writing that also that left-handed breeches are not available as well as right handed, just because to make them I need to get some number of orders to run the machine. Since I don’t have it I don’t make it. To run it for one or to breeches would be too expensive. Probably I should rephrase the sentence.
Regarding the issues. Nothing is perfect in this world, so airguns are. The number of issues with my guns are quite a small number to the number of sold ones and the number of happy customers. It doesn’t mean that I have to leave the unhappy ones out, but it changes the whole picture of the situation isn’t it? Regarding those unhappy, there are two kind of issues, the first one is technical and we solve it anyhow, maybe not so quickly as American used to, but taking into consideration the law restriction in Russia (for example I cannot just send the stock from Russian directly as it is considers as a “gun part” and prohibited to be delivered by ordinary mail. Is it stupid, to call the wood part a gun part? Completely agree, but cannot do anyting with it, so have to use Estonia base to send the part, that make it longer. Just for example, here in Russia we can wait for some spare parts from West for months and have nothing to do with it. moreover, some good named companies just doesn’t care about the work with the clients. I got a sauna from Finnish company Tulikivi. good sauna, but doesn’t work properly. I got it officially from its Russian dealer. They changed the electric parts for free when it didn’t work (it took 12 weeks), then when it stopped working again, they just told the Russian dealer “We cannot do anything with it, now that is your problem!” Thanks to local Russian dealer, who cares about he good name of the company more then finns do, he repair it (it last almost for a year already). By the way the cost of sauna is not too cheap it cost me around USD 3000. So, nothing is perfect.
The other issue is the client, when he gets the gun found out that is not what he wanted or planned, in this case he can just return it back to Tony (both of them) within two weeks and get money back.
All the other issues are solved.
If you can consider that response snobbish, I am sorry for that.
The Edgun Matador 2.5 was my first love for the Edguns but Ed don’t build single shot anymore. He only offer it as a kit. That’s added cost if I were to buy the R3M and convert it back to single shot. Ed should offer it in both configuration. :2cents: I may still buy one day as my knowledge about airguns improves. For now it will be the P12, and next is the Cricket(eventhough multi-shot) :butkick:
I just answered it above. One cannot call it without customer support, as it is just gossips, give the examples, and I can explain you everything on that example if you find one. Otherwise that looks like women behave, when they want to prove their point of view with fact, instead “prove” it with speculations 🙂

Really appreciate the offer, but I’m in Texas, in the Houston area… High end air gun market is just getting going here so local options are very limited. Only saw my first PCP air gun year before last when the annual meetings were held for the NRA in Houston. Air Force had a booth… that’s what started the “itch”… it’s only gotten worse 🙂
