Q:

pretty sure i am hitting the shroud!!!!!!

so i went to the 100 yard range last week and got a 6 in group, i choked it up to be the high winds and a dirty barrel so i cleaned the barrel and yes it was really dirty! 😯

but after that i brought it inside to my 15.5 yard range inside my house lol and i am getting 1 inch groups with 12 shots. smoe times they will hit the same hole but for the most part i am shooting 1 inch size grouns at almost 16 yds. these size groups have been consistant every time i shot this gun which is almost 350 rounds. and dont think that this is me because the same day i went to the 100 yard range shooting 6inch groups with the cricket i shot a 1 1/2 in group with my 10/22 with cheap bulk federal ammo.

i have been paying very close attention to these marks wiping them everytime i shot and they have always been there after shooting and now it looks like there might be a gauge developing.

how do i fix this??????? i am extremely frustrated with the accuracy of my gun. next time i am going to shoot with out the shroud and see how my accuracy is. i am also adjusting my scope alot because it seems like my POI is changing alot by about a 1/2 an inch here and there at 16 yards.

would lapping the barrel help center my shots in the shroud?

also i carefully check all of my pellets before loading them into my cricket.

A guy would think that for 1500 bucks a gun should not need the extra attention. I bought a cricket because I was tired of tuning. Turns out both my crickets needed a crap load of work to get them to do what they should have done out of the box.

The first shipment of mutants i received….. everyone of them I aired them up, and did some 40 yard test. all shooting at 950 fps range. I had to change the pellet probe Oring on 2 of them cause they were giving a light puff of air (dried up oring) Otherwise they all performed flawless with no issues. No need for a added tune on these. :biggrinn:

I agree at the 1500$ price point they should come into the US ready to roll. that doesn’t always happen but its not of concern along as the customer receives a proper working airgun.

so thats where the retailer comes into play. some just pass the box, kinda like spraying and praying in my mind (not a good plan LOL)

then theres those that actually put the effort into earning there money and those are the dealers that get my money.

Moral of the story buy your Kalibrgun from Peter at TGAG or Steve at WWAG, both of those guys would send you a replacement without question. Personal experience tells me stay away from all businesses related to AoA. Remember when you thinking of buying the rifle we warned you to stay away from them. Steve and Peter test shoot the guns before they send them to you.

WWAG had to hire a guy just for that purpose to ensure that you get a good shooting gun. Im thinking a lot of them go straight to ernest anyhow. and he works his magic

Dealers for some reason think a one inch group is fine at 30 yards. I had a friend who bought a tested 25 and mine shot the same with a bad shroud. So go figure

Precision is a good dealer, they’ll make it right.

Precision will not send you a new shroud. You have to send it back to AoA. That is the repair center.

I understand. Good choice. When are they sending you a new shroud?

no and i know that would fix it but i am going to give percision a chance to fix it for me and hopefully that means just sending me a new one. :biggrinn:

if not i dont want to ream it if they want the shroud back.

Chad, have you tried to ream it out?

yeah i am so satisfied with the gun without the shroud! and i can not wait until i get a new shroud.

Just watched your videos. It least you know you have an accurate gun, and what to do to fix it. I’d like to know where the old shroud will wind up. I need parts to mod. my Colibri.
Hope you’re able to get it going soon. My .25 gets shot every day. Just got it the way I wanted. Quieter than a Hummingbird day or night.

It would be clipping a lot to see that kind of movement at such a close range. Probably spitting pieces of lead all over. On my 30 cal the clipping wasn’t really apparent until about 40 yards.

Looks like you only shot one shot at paper. They were flying all over with the shroud on…

its the shroud!!!!! It moves a good amount. And the accuracy of this gun is amazing!! Cant wait to take it out to the 100 yard range.
