project no 4.. bolt action
Hi,
here’s some pic of my latest project. Doesn’t look like much yet… As you can see i havent cut the slot for the mag yet; still on backorder (marauder mag). I plan to build a sort of “inertia hammer”, ad modum Daystate merlin. Airbottle will be a frontmounted 600cc item. Valve design pretty much a Rapid copy.

hi,
hoping to take the ducati out for a spin tomorrow; hopefully that will take care of the swarf! Made some more stuff tonight; started out on the bolt and made a valve. When i cut the receiver i bored and reamed the bolt hole 10mm, i was dead sure i had a piece of precision ground 10mm shaft… well, it turned out to measure 9,7mm… hence the small brass bushing in the rear of the receiver block. Still to come is a bushing for the forward part of the bolt. problem is that the bolt will have to be removed by unscrewing the bolt handle assembly and push it out forward… Hmm, i just might try to get hold of a piece of 10mm rod instead. Forgot to take pics while machining..

the rod that makes up the bolt is from my now dead fax machine..
milled a “key”to prevent the handle assembly to rotate on the bolt
note brass bushing…

Looking good 😀 , been thinking about a long gun myself !. Intresting idea with the use of the acetel for the valve area. Ive got a similar design on my build but in brass which il show in Solidworks . Thou i do like the idea of ” felt tip cad ” LoL
