Shiney Thing !!!

Thks “Y” nice to see you back. Small update , finished the mags with a 4mm cut into the side for locking the mag in place. Corrected a hole in the breach ,that was out of round by making it .5mm bigger .This hole houses a pin that locks the mag in place when the indexing arm moves back to the start position.


On to the next problem , ive got to make a small leaf spring that fits into the 3mm slot and forces the arm up .It dosnt need too much force ,just enough to position the arm into the mag hole for indexing . Im posting on other forums for ideas on how to make one , and thinking of where i can find the material. Open to ideas !

Im looking for a .22 cal and 18″ plus long , Chambers want £90 for a white LW barrel which seams alot as ive still got to get it blued , Leupy said £59 but a 6 week wait leaves me kicking my feet for awhile. My RFD quoted me £40 ( which i like ) for a BSA barrel but cant tell me when one will be available as BSA are having trouble keeping up with demand . Gunpower have yet to get back , but there always hard to contact 🙁 . Ive got a QB78 if it comes to it il kill the thing for the barrel (hate it anyways) but its not the best barrel for the job.
So that means im looking for other ways of getting one , have to look at a few more web sites 😕 .

Thanks all 😀 , as you know Marc , things will always go wrong but the differance between a good engineer and a bad one is being able to see the mistake and why it happened and not live with it ! . The .1mm run out realy pissed me off , so i broke the set up down and adjusted the rotary table , re set everything up and tried again . Needless to say it took a fear amount of time but that .1 might well of interfered with some thing else. Im not working to extreme tolerances because its a home M/C shop and dont have the tools / machinery for that but youve got to try to keep things as close as possiable to the drawings.
Il try Gunpower for a barrel they sometimes have secondhand one, s cheap , the VCR act has made getting hold of parts difficult. An example : i can buy a white barrel over the net and get it posted to me but i couldnt do that with the cylinder , that had to come through a RFD !!! . I can make a cylinder but couldnt make a good barrel ,wheres the sence in that !!! crazy…..L8r all

Hiding from the Russians with Milly ( my Cat ) in my underground bunker in Norfolk……..Doohh!! …..work continues on the Tv4 copy. Got 3 mags nearly finished , just a notch square to the pellet hole to do . Theres a pin which locks the mag into position with said notch ! 😯 ……..yeh yeh none of this post makes any sence i know , just look at the pretty pics 😀

In total i made 8 mags , one was scraped while turning but i thought id use for setting up , one spun because i got lazy with bolting it down , the belt drive F****D one when it came lose ( my machine wasnt the same as the drawings i used ) Damit and took a chunk out of it , one messed up while i remembered how to work the rotay table and one more to make me strip the rotary table to adjust it so it rotated correctly .:shock:
It was a very fustrating time…!
These As you can see the arm moves the mag round clockwise and at the return of stroke ,it is pushed down under the mag springing up at the finish of cocking into the slot for the next cycle 😯

Still looking for something to make a leaf spring to push the arm back up , thats not been easy to solve !. Also at the moment i cant get hold of a barrel unless i want to pay silly money ,so il have to think of another way. Wonder if Piramid air export barrels …hmmm! . So next will be the parts of the trigger group , fun fun …..fun 😕

As far as the 4″ table gose , its a real asset , a DRO would be nice but you can do far more with the table.
