Shooting Chrony lights, and no more incandescent bulbs
I just got online to order a light kit and found LED offerings from Shooting Chrony now too. I suppose this is in response to no more incandescent bulbs being made law ?? Has anyone tried the LED’s They are a lot more expensive, I could buy the old style for cheap at AD but not sure I can buy bulbs for them now let alone down the road.

I bought LED lights for my ProChrono right away and its best money spent!
I realized a friend had the chrony brand led !! light kit after studying them online and called him and his are 100% too. I already had the $5.00 leds from Lowes I had got to put in my safe so i’m not out anything to try them some more. My setup will stay in one place in the corner of the shop for ever so if I can make them work I’ll be up $90 and if not I’ll spend the $90, no biggie. In the mean time saving the that money caused me to splurge for a caldwell stable table I have long wanted : 😀

You may have the older model, they were also cheaply made but worked every time.
Mine sometimes prints over the first line again and again and ALWAYS drops the first shot. I end up writing the string down when the printer is also printing the string, give you an idea of how I don’t trust it. 😆

Luckily, I got my printer for free but they are very cheaply made. It has worked perfectly so far but I wonder how long it will last.

Best $90 I ever spent. Work PERFECTLY every time. Used to rig lights to try to get it to work, the LED system is rock solid, no issues, perfecto.
OTOH do not, I repeat DO NOT buy one of their little printers. PIECE OF SHIT. 😉

I bought the 90$ ones and they have not let me down yet. put around 3000 rounds through it. not one error
You will really not like it when the $90 ones don’t work. 😯 I used the round LEDs in the basement nearly in the dark with one incandescent bulb on maybe 20 feet away.

Thanks, I just about spent the $90 cause I was not getting good results experimenting with the $5 led’s velcroed to the bottom but I was shooting off hand, I’ll go back out and bag the gun for proper alignment and try again, I got a feeling it will be ok then.

I use two Larry LED light bars (made by NEBO). Cost $10 a piece. They work great.

I use the round battery operated LEDs held on with magnets from Lowes for $5 each. They work fine.

I have like here http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread.php?546175-Chrony-lighting-kit&p=5035191#post5035191 puk lights and it doesn’t work as well… Errors occur many time. I tried to put it high and lower with same result. I think I do not have suitable leds in the puk… 🙄
Interesting note:
The problem with some LED lights is that they have a "drive circuit" that limits the power drawn by the LEDs (supplying too much current can damage them), these drive circuits can also cause the LEDs to flicker very fast, not perceptible to human eyes but it can cause a problem with Chronys similar to using them under fluorescent lighting. LED lights that are run directly from a battery, with no electronics between the battery and the LEDs should be fine.
