successful condor valve mod !!!DONE!!!even more fps
So far with the few tests that I’ve had a chance to do I think this mod will help those who have the first Gen valve and are tired of the inherent design flaws…what use to take a pw setting of 13,6 now only takes 9,2. 928 fps with the predators …this is using the soft crony and balistic gel and only a few test shots..I flattened out the ends of the valve return spring, and after lots of pumping and shooting then emptying modding and pumping some more I found that if you flatten the face of the delrin seal the valve is much easier to open under full fill pressure plus I did an o-ring mod to it just to quiet things down a bit.. ..I will post some diagrams of the mods in a few days…I can’t take credit for the individual mods but I’m just trying to help out those who have the crappy valves and not the money to replace them…

can you post a picture of what you did….
i use a cup shape in the delrin, where the orginal valve has a coneshape, where it seals against the brass….not the bottom of the delrin that holds the spring
the delrin is so to say allready cupshaped to acommodate the stem, what im talking about is the sealing surface on the edge, instead of having the high on the inside, i like to hava the sidewall highest on the outside of the delrin….
because .: when you shape something like a cone or a wedge, it tents to wedge it self, it makes for a large sealing surface….the delrin wedges it self giving random power as sometimes it wedges and others it dont…what can you do….you wanna fight about it .
with the cup shape, this eliminates the problem….and why daystate, BAM, and a shitload of other airgun makers uses this shape of their delrin seals….the tallest part of the sidewall gets crushed under breakin, and forms a very good seal….because it seals against a flat surface of the brass, it does not wedge, and hence will open the same every time…even under breakin which is only a few shots….
the bigger the valve…the more force the delrin has to hold back…using a cone shaped deltinpart is only going to try to wedge it self…i have made some pretty big valves back a few years ago, and i know of a few on this forum who has dublicated or tried simelar stuff as to what i was messing with but couldnt knock the valve open consistently….all because of the valve seats shape…i didnt belive it my self….until i tried cause i was going mad thinking why it would do 250 fpe on one shot, and get the slug stuck 1″ down the barrel…then i tried the cupshpe and i realized my hammer and hammerspring was way overkill, and since then i havent looked back
Never mind its back to the drawing board ….it worked for about 12 shots then went back to randomly working at full power

Ill pull it apart tonight when I get time and take some pics …have you tried any material other than delrin to make the seal out of…I was thinking of some t5 aluminum…it would be soft enough to deform a little to seal but last for quite a while..
