My Dear Wingy Brother,,,

i usually do like your jobs all,,, i am admire always to your performance and personal works on your PCPs,,,they are very nice,,, and top,,,

but to be frank with you,, i don’t like this black paint on this stock,,, it was petty that you hided that elegant walnut stock,,, if i were you,, i would put walnut oil …that stock had a very nice lines/ map that i am sure it would become a very nice stock,,, anyhow,, the hand work is really nice ,,, i am curious from where you learned all of these works,,, thanks for sharing ,,

I’ve seen that stock design before somewhere.. I had to go check my safe to make sure it was still there…
Are you Chinese rkr? because that’s a good clone..

Wingman,

Nice rifle! How much does it weigh? I might try something like this with a s500.

Its very light, the lightest PCP rifle I have.. my guess would be 5.5 – 6lbs.
The rear of the stock is mostly hollow from the trigger in-letting.

Can you “skeletonize” that butt of that stock? It still seems a bit “bulky” and it seems like a decent wood working tool could ream out some of that extra wood.

I have a skeletonized Cricket stock and I love it because it’s SO light!!!!

Uncle Hoot

Do you have any pic? :suprisedn:

Rkr,

Never would have thought that was a evanix, you did a hell of a job there.

I’m a bit puzzled, I didn’t get the nasty hint in your post?

I didn’t make any nasty hints in my response to your post. I’m possibly the nicest person you’ll never meet.

I did elaborate on the lack of Korean imagination, or the excess of it….oh! Let me guess…you are Korean???

As long as it’s South Korean, that’s fine by me. I only have problems with that midget pedophile up North threatening to end the world.

Still…that’s a sweet looking job on the Blizzard.

What 😯 You copied my design and try to take credit for it :angrymob:

Look here, I was first http://www.talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=30046

Seriously though, if you want a silent and powerful bigbore bullpup you’ll have to DIY it. Perhaps in a few years we can have it all by manufacturers in semi auto format.

Hoot, thanks for the compliments. I’m a bit puzzled, I didn’t get the nasty hint in your post?

um. what about the evanix max ml? its bigbore and fairly quiet.

the problem with big bore pups is the barrel length for a true bigbore makes it a carbine size wise and that kinda defeats the purpose of the pup stock for compact design

Dear rkr….

Where did you get that stock and linkage? The Blizzard doesn’t come equipped with it. In it’s OEM form it weighs about ten pounds, doesn’t have a regulator, and looks like you could grab it by the barrel and beat a boar hog to death with it. But it seems you have managed to get that beast under some semblance of control! Cut it’s length by a 1/3rd, quieted it down, and likely lightened it up a bit!

The entire Korean Evanix staff works on coming up with a bullpup…they create an “Erector Set” with a barrel and trigger, yet only you get it right! For the life of me I don’t understand why they don’t use a regulator to flatten out the limited shot string a .357 gets, and simply utilize a conventional bullpup configuration. Evanix and Benjamin keep trying to invent the wheel, but just don’t seem to realize a wheel NEEDS to be round! Just like a bullpup NEEDS to look like a bullpup. If only they could put all that design effort and cost into improved performance, just think what they could come up with…a Korean Edgun!!!

Hoot:

PS: I just clicked on the posted picture, and ran through the building process you undertook. Very very nicely done!

R&L air guns and Maddog Doug have a very decent bullpup, in .25 caliber, that I wouldn’t mind owning again. Vincent Van Garven has a $140 screw-in regulator for the Mrod that is getting nice reviews from users. For under a $1000 USD, it’s probably the hardest hitting pcp for the money, and the balance is as close to perfect as you can get.

Evanix makes a pretty mean gun for the money in .25 caliber, but you have a hard time quieting them down to the levels the Marauder can get (with a little help).

Hoot:

Nah, you just need a big can and it will be as quiet as a 30 fpe .22 with HW LDC even in .357 caliber.

Well, IMO for the price the bullpup mrod is good compromise between a .25 cal cricket and .25 matador and a better choice than the ugly evanix 3D pup which is the only one near the same cost. And I’m pretty sure it’s no more bulky than any of the other choices but I don’t have anything other than the mdrl mrod bullpup, just going off dimensions and appearances.

IMO the mrod is just a little to bulky for a pup. After owning both I came to the conclusion that I probably wouldn’t spend more than what I gave for disco on another crossman product.
