That Pesky Breach O-ring!!!!
Took mine out today to check for nicks and to apply a thin layer of silicon grease. Now I can’t seem to get that little bitch back in the ring groove.
Do you guys have any tricks or tips to get it seated proper in its groove? I find there is no room to work and I can’t get a light on it like I would like to without another pair of hands.

Where Eelect lives it’s a lot colder there than where you live….plus he’s afraid of the dark!
eelect, often I will set my target and pellet trap down range at night with a flashlight shinning on target. Works well for nighttime shooting, plus were I live at times there is much less wind at night. Try it out. :4:

O rings came in the mail today. Managed to get it installed. I hope its going to a long time before I have to do it again. I’m itching to shoot my 25 again but it got too dark today after I got off work and oring installed. I sure hope pellets don’t fall out of barrel with that slippery stuff

Comparing Metric 5.5×1.5mm o-ring to SAE A009

With my REG adjustment down to 110 BAR I was averaging 865-868 FPS.
I just put a new greased A009 o-ring in and chrono’d 12 shots.

Doesn’t appear to be any leakage so an SAE A009 will due when a metric 5.5×2.5 is not available for the .22/5.5 Vulcan.

Thanks eelect, I was familiar with SAE sized o-ring where they give all three dimensions. It through me with the metric useing the I. D. and thickness and not the O. D.
Lurker. Ville tried to say it as simple as possible. So here it goes round 2. Breach O ring = Cal of gun in mm x 1.5 mm cross section.
I measured my probe which is the same size as pellet which is also the caliber of the gun.

The o-ring size spec is for the INSIDE diameter, not the outside diameter.
That’s why a 1.5 x 5.5 o-ring is big enough around to go into the groove and let a 5.5 mm diameter pellet to pass through it.
Conceivably, something like a 1.6 x 5.4 would also fit, but be a really tight passage for the pellet and probe.
I don’t think it needs to be tighter because the 1.5 x 5.5 doesn’t have appreciable leak in my 0.22’s breach.

I am using an SAE A009 o-ring in my .22 Vulcan.
It appears to be working but I will try to get the correct metric O-Ring and see if it improves.

Yup went out pesting a bit to check out Vulcan as it was down for 2 weeks with swollen Oring I decided to not put on a vest underneath my jacket. Big mistake. It’s very nippy with high humidity. Got a pigeon and a bunch of sparrows after I got used to shooting gun. I will say pushing a pellet into breach when temp are near freezing is nothing too smooth. With cricket you don’t notice this. Next model should have a mechanical lever to work pellet probe.
