That Pesky Breach O-ring!!!!
Took mine out today to check for nicks and to apply a thin layer of silicon grease. Now I can’t seem to get that little bitch back in the ring groove.
Do you guys have any tricks or tips to get it seated proper in its groove? I find there is no room to work and I can’t get a light on it like I would like to without another pair of hands.

To spare the o-ring from unnecessary load while not in use let the load handle to return but don’t “lock” it downwards.

Did the felt cleaning pellet method this afternoon when I got home from work. Had that damn little o-ring seated in 30 seconds! Used a pick and the end of a 3mm allen wrench to hold in place and push into the ring groove. Pulled shroud and blew felt pellet out the barrel. Damn, that .25 is fucking loud! Had me running back inside to hide! 😯

You dumbasses! The easiest and safest way is to use VFG felts used for barrel cleaning. Just push one in so it clears the o-ring groove and then the o-ring after. You just need to insert it a couple millimeters into the bore. Many of you guys know that feeling painfully well. :fishinghole:
Take a set of drill bits and see which one fits into the barrel. Take that bit to the hardware store and see which doll rod matches. Slide doll rod down barrel to o ring groove, lube pellet, slide into chamber, push rod to breech with finger over hole and o ring should drop into groove. Make sure doll rod is slightly smaller than drill bit. If that doesn’t work, bring it over to me and i’ll do it for you.
I just tried a 1/4″ rod in a .25 barrel and it won’t go 😳
For my .22 Vulcan I used Tipton cleaning rod with a plastic .22 ram that I cut the center point off so it was flat.
Silicone the o-ring good and the second time you try to position it, it should slip in place like majic :suprisedn:
After that they seem to know just what they are expected to do. They seem to learn fastest after being threatened ❗
Hmmm……..I don’t own a GOOD cleaning rod……I may try running a felt pellet in front of that black .25 adaptor that I use with my Patch Worm kit and stop it just past the ring groove. This may provide enough resistance in the barrel to work that damn o-ring in place.
As you say, I may need to curse it a couple of times to get it to listen….. :whoop:

Thanks Lurker! Any Idea what size dowel? I’ll make a run to Lowe’s tomorrow to pick one up. So I squeeze that ring and put it in sideways, then push against the dowel thats now lined up to the ring groove at the breech end with a pick, until it seats in the groove? PS……I’ve got a .25……

1st you fill the barrel with sand……. NO NO but that might work :rofl:
CAREFULLY INSERT A ROD OR DOWEL FROM THE MUZZEL ALL THE WAY UP TO THE BREECH O-ring grove.
You probably can handle it from there.
Then insert the o-ring and push it up against the rod.
