That Pesky Breach O-ring!!!!
Took mine out today to check for nicks and to apply a thin layer of silicon grease. Now I can’t seem to get that little bitch back in the ring groove.
Do you guys have any tricks or tips to get it seated proper in its groove? I find there is no room to work and I can’t get a light on it like I would like to without another pair of hands.

Wish I could help Eelect but I don’t think my .22 o ring will work…
Update. I tried again to get oring into barrel and failed. Then I got Dad to help for 30 minutes two heads 4 hands and still the bastard will not go into the groove. I took it out because after cleaning barrel I could not close the bolt. So all I can do is buy a new oring and try it with a new one. Does anyone have a bunch they bought and would like to send me some. I’d pay for them of course. If not what is the size of the oring so I can order some tonight. I don’t have gun at the house

Oring is still original and in good shape still. But I think the dry slide is too blame. It’s so slippery it doesn’t want to go into groove. It slips in and out very easily. I’ll try a new oring

Didn’t you just replace that o-ring a few weeks back??

I blew a couple of head gaskets already so it can’t be as easy as you say. The cricket Oring is much easier

Easy job indeed. Are you absolutely sure your brain is connected to your fingers ? If not it COULD get tricky..

Well changing the breach oring has to be the worst thing to do on this gun. 30 minutes later still no sign of getting it done. Very uncool

I’ve done that trick dozens of times on dozens of guns in different calibers and never had one problem.
Wouldn’t shoving the felt over the empty o-ring grove shave it or otherwise leave the o-ring grove contaminated 🙄
Could such contamination eventually fux up a new o-ring. :whistle:
Good question Lurker……I never thought of that, but my rifle is still shooting as consistent as ever since I put the ring back in place. I went from the breach into the bore with the felt pellet, but I suppose it would be better to load from the muzzle and pull back with the patchworm, until it reaches the groove.

Dry Slide ❓ Is that silicone based ❓
Does the can say it is for rubber ❓
I’ve used Dry Slide for metal on metal but just silicone on rubber.
Some chemicals will cause o-rings to swell and made them no longer fit.
