These issues are why I decided to pass on a Haley rifle….too much money for something that “needs work”…

To be fair, the price point on JH’s is not very high for a semi-custom big bore.

You’re rite he is the low end of big bore customs but $800 for a new gun that’s gonna be a roll of the dice for internals is nothing that I want to play with…but they do look good..

A good while back a fellow I trust mentioned on another site that the guns were good but needed a little detail work and some tuning. He was immediately attacked left, right and center by the fan club. Now there are at least 3 other guys that have opened their guns and found the same issues.

I’ve not heard of any failure yet but based on the pictures I’ve had emailed to me and seen on the yellow, I’d not hotrod a JH without going through it completely.

I was wanting to open mine up to see about polishing things up a bit…I suppose now I truly need to, not want to. When I do, I will post up some pics of what I see.

Gotta say I agree with Tofaz…. I’ve got a Haley .32… and it certainly is a bit rough on the inside….

They are nice looking guns for sure though! But in this case beauty really IS only skin deep! haha

What concerns me is the lack of engineering and machining skills.

A gun that is being filled to 3600psi needs both.

I am disappointed in that DBOI posting especially as both those fellas had the exact same crap tubes.
Was a supporter of Jack’s and think I have been duped.

So owners of Haley’s, you better open them up and have someone that knows how it should be take a look.

That’s the first I have seen of the “internals” on the JH guns…I know Jack was not feeling well for a while and perhaps he chose to motor through his sickness by trying to meet the demand of his customers….

One thing I do know is that they are very nice folks and I have no doubt that if an issue should arise with my gun…they will stand behind their product.

Took mine to the range yesterday with my 15 year old daughter. The first shot (by itself) at 1:00 was her first shot ever with the .457 (50 yards) Cedric 318 grain Flat nose bullet. (first picture below)

Her boyfriend also came along and I bragged how that will be a hard act to follow. Well, take a look at his shot. (second picture below)

The third picture is a group I shot with Cedric’s 309 grain hollow points and man, let me tell you, those things destroy stuff. I shot one at a 2×8 pressure treated and it split it in half and exploded out the back (it looked like a bomb went off inside the wood. That group measures 1.494″ ctc (I know I can do better…this is the second time I have shot this rifle and it takes some getting used to).

One gripe I have (not with the rifle) is I am getting disgusted with only being able to get from 4000 to 4200 psi from my local scuba shop. I started this shoot with only 4000 psi and I believe I only got around 20 shots before it started dropping off the reg set at 3600 psi. I am going to give the tank to my EMT/Firefighter buddy to see if it will fit inside their compressor box…if so, hopefully he can get me to 5000 psi 😎
